The stars of the PGA Tour Champions may have lost a few yards on their drives, but they certainly haven't lost their competitive spirit. If you have any doubts, just watch the intense exchange between Padraig Harrington and Roger Maltbie.
KOAA News5 Colorado Springs reporter Brett Forrest posted a video of this moment, and it quickly went viral on social media.
The footage shows Harrington engaged in a lively debate with Maltbie following the second round of the U.S. Senior Open on the East Course at The Broadmoor in Colorado Springs. Harrington is one of the 36-hole leaders, while Maltbie is covering the event as NBC's on-course reporter.
Video from the US Senior Open shows Irish pro Padraig Harrington going at it with NBC on-course analyst Roger Maltbie.
Sounds like Harrington, who's tied for first, wasn't happy with where Maltbie stood. But Maltbie wasn't having it either.

The video doesn't allow you to hear the entire exchange, but it's clear that Harrington was upset with Maltbie for not helping to find a ball during the round.
"Never on a golf course stand up looking at somebody looking [for a ball]...That's the etiquette of the game," Harrington said.
Everything seems to indicate that Maltbie did not agree with Harrington at all:
"That's a hard one, that's a hard one," he said.
It's unclear if they were referring to Harrington's ball or another player's. For whatever reason, the three-time major champion believed that Maltbie should have helped with the process.
It's worth noting that Maltbie is a PGA Tour veteran with more than 20 years of experience, but he was present as a reporter. In other words, he undoubtedly knows golf etiquette, but it's unclear whether he should have helped with the alleged search.

Padraig Harrington of Ireland hits a tee shot on the 12th hole during the first round of the U.S. Senior Open Championship 2025 at Broadmoor Golf Club on June 26, 2025 in Colorado Springs, Colorado.Rule 7 of the Rules of Golf, established by the United States Golf Association (USGA) and the R&A, holds players absolutely responsible for searching for their ball after each shot. Tournaments and tours provide ball finders to assist with the process and establish time limits for the search.
The rule does not expressly prohibit other persons present (players, caddies, etc.) from assisting in the search. However, the rule neither establishes this as an obligation for those other persons, only for the player.
The most logical conclusion seems to be that Harrington wanted all the help he could get and was upset when he didn't get what he expected from Maltbie. Hence, he gave him a piece of his mind at the end of the round.
However, the Dublin, Ireland, native didn't need much help to bolster his performance. After 36 holes of the US Senior Open, Padraig Harrington is tied for first place with Stewart Cink and Mark Hensby, with a score of 8-under entering the final round.

Lewis Hamilton Waiting For Ferrari Fix Despite Positive Austria Result

Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. Despite finishing in P4 at the Austrian Grand Prix, Ferrari driver Lewis Hamilton is waiting for upgrades on the SF-25 this season amid his discomfort in the car. Ferrari brought a new floor and suspension to the Austrian race. The results showed some progress, but the car's brakes suffered issues during the Grand Prix, and Hamilton is already looking forward to this issue being fixed. "Compared to McLaren, I don't think anyone's catching them. But never say never. Hopefully, with our next upgrade, that works the way we hope it works. Maybe that will bring us a little bit closer," Hamilton told reporters after the race. Photo by"We should be fully focused on, in terms of development, onto the next year's car. I'm sure all the teams are doing the same. So we're focused on next year. And making sure whoever comes out with the right philosophy for next year, suspension-wise, everything. "I'm trying to work with the engineers to make sure we rectify some of the issues with this car. There's a few problems that we're fixing." Ferrari had the second-fastest car on the grid in Austria, and Hamilton was close to Charles Leclerc throughout the race weekend. This season, Hamilton has struggled when compared to Leclerc, especially in qualifying, but the seven-time champion qualified less than a tenth of a second away from his teammate. In the race, he followed Leclerc and finished one spot behind him. Hamilton came away happy from the outing but noted some remaining issues with the SF-25. "It's pretty great to see the team bringing the upgrade. We've moved forwards. We've been the second fastest this weekend. Third and fourth is a real positive," Hamilton said. "There's lots of good things to take from the weekend, and there's lots of areas to focus on. Qualifying was better. We found a problem that I had in my qualifying lap, which was near a tenth. "There was some issue on the car, so that's again a positive. But I would have gone back if I had started second. I've got to find race pace, that's key. "Still losing massive ground. We lose eight seconds, nine seconds - compared to Charles." If Hamilton continues to establish himself in the Italian team and grows in comfort, he could get off to a better start. Flailing Sergio Garcia Clinches Spot at The Open Despite Poor LIV Dallas Finish

Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. Sergio Garcia showed signs of his game recovering at LIV Golf Dallas after three months of largely disappointing results. The Spaniard finished tied for 25th at Maridoe Golf Club with a 3-over score for the tournament. However, Garcia's most important achievement of the week was securing his spot in The Open Championship, the final major of the season. "I'm excited about it, and hopefully I'll play well," he said after his final round performance. Sergio Garcia of Fireballs GC celebrates the champion after the match on day three of LIV Golf Hong Kong at The Hong Kong Golf Club on March 09, 2025 in Hong Kong, China. Sergio Garcia of Fireballs GC celebrates the champion after the match on day three of LIV Golf Hong Kong at The Hong Kong Golf Club on March 09, 2025 in Hong Kong, García Punches Open Ticket Garcia literally had to wait until the final hole of LIV Golf Dallas to secure his ticket to The Open. At the start of the round, David Puig was tied for fourth and had he finished solo fourth or better, he would have overtaken his compatriot and qualified himself. However, Puig faded during the third round and dropped nine places to 13th. After the Dallas event, Garcia sits fifth in the league's individual standings, behind Joaquin Niemann, Jon Rahm, Bryson DeChambeau, and Patrick Reed. As you may recall, the R&A implemented a new policy this season: a direct spot in The Open Championship field is awarded to the highest-ranked player among the top five in LIV Golf who is not otherwise exempt. The ticket falls to Garcia, as Niemann (top 25 in the 2024 DP World Tour's Race to Dubai), Rahm (major winner in the last five years), DeChambeau (major winner in the last five years), and Reed (runner-up in the International Series Macau) are already qualified. "It's going to be my second time playing at Royal Portrush, and it's obviously nice," Garcia said about his opportunity to play in the Open Championship. "It's one of the goals that you have at the beginning of the year, to try to play as many majors as you can with the limitations that we get." "I didn't help myself very much the last three months, but I'm glad that I got enough work done in the first third of the year, I guess, in the first part of the season." 🚨✅⛳️ #QUALIFIED — Sergio Garcia has qualified for The Open Championship at Royal Portrush after gaining entry through the LIV points list. It will be Garcia's first appearance since the 2022 tournament. — NUCLR GOLF (@NUCLRGOLF) June 30, 2025 Earlier this season, Sergio Garcia named the Open Championship as his "favorite major" and declared his firm intention to qualify through the new option introduced by the R&A. Although his early-season results put him on the right path to achieving that goal—one win and two top-10 finishes in the first five tournaments—he hasn't been the same since April. In the three events immediately preceding Dallas, his best finish was a tie for 38th in Virginia. Adding to that slump, he missed the cut at the Masters Tournament, finished tied for 67th at the PGA Championship, and failed to qualify for the U.S. Open. This will mark Garcia's 26th appearance at The Open Championship, where he has finished in the top 10 ten times, including two runner-up finishes (2007, 2014), his best results to date.
