Doctor Who's Ncuti Gatwa shares the real reason behind his shock exit after THAT unexpected regeneration reveal - after fan speculation he was axed

Daily Mail4 days ago

Ncuti Gatwa has shared the real reason that he left BBC 's Doctor Who in Saturday night's big finale.
The high-profile actor, who rose to fame in hit Netflix series Sex Education, has opened up about why he left his role as The Doctor after two series.
Ncuti, 32, has been replaced by actress Billie Piper after stepping down from his role as the Time Lord.
The actor appeared to blame the physical and mental demands of the show for his exit in a new video following fan speculation he was axed from the show.
Ncuti explained: 'It's a role that demands a lot of you physically and emotionally and mentally. The actors playing the Doctor are only actors playing the Doctor. Unfortunately, we are mere mortals.

'I would love to have the energy and the youth to be able to do this full time for the rest of my life, but my knees are telling me it's time.'
Ncuti also wrote in a heartfelt post: 'Monsters, goblins, gods, human-eating Slugs, invisible brain altering creatures, evil barbers, conspiracy theorists… you've had quite a busy two years. Well done and rest up son ✌ Thank you endlessly XV.'
In his exit speech, Ncuti revealed he would never forget his time on the show as he shared his sorrow over hanging up his sonic screwdriver.
He said: 'You know when you get cast, at some point, you are going to have to hand back that sonic screwdriver and it is all going to come to an end, but nothing quite prepares you for it. This journey has been one that I will never forget and a role that will be part of me forever.
'There are no words to describe what it feels like to be cast as the Doctor, nor are there words to explain what it feels like to be accepted into this iconic role that has existed for over 60 years and is truly loved by so many across the globe.'
His remarks follow fan speculation that Ncuti had not planned to leave the show and was axed following weeks of rumours, however the BBC firmly denied the rumours.
On the social platform, they wrote: 'In October 2024, Ncuti Gatwa was on 'The Graham Norton Show' saying he was going to be filming another series of DW next year. In June 2025, he officially leaves the show and regenerates. This was never the plan. What a shame. He deserved so much better.'
'I just want to say that ncuti gatwa has been done so disrespectful this era. > just a twitter post announcement as the doctor > 14th doctor still in existence, undermining the 15th doctor > no announcement or farewell for his departure NCUTI GATWA DESERVED BETTER!'
His remarks follow fan speculation that Ncuti had not planned to leave the show and was axed following weeks of rumours, however the BBC firmly denied the rumours
'I'm actually sad and disappointed Ncuti Gatwa isn't the Doctor anymore. We finally got a feel for him and now he's gone. He deserved one more season, we didn't get to know his Doctor at all him and Rouge deserved an entire era together #DoctorWho.'
The BBC previously denied claims that Ncuti had been axed from his role just days ahead of the finale.
'Whilst we never comment on the future of the Doctor, any suggestion that Ncuti Gatwa has been "axed" is pure fiction,' a spokesperson for the BBC said.
The decision on season 3 will be made after season 2 airs and any other claims are just pure speculation.
'The deal with Disney+ was for 26 episodes – and we still have an entire spin-off, The War Between the Land and the Sea, to air.'
Following Ncuti's exit, Billie Piper has replaced him as The Doctor, with the character regenerating during the BBC show's season finale.
She first starred as the companion to the ninth Doctor in 2005, playing Rose Tyler alongside Christopher Eccleston's Time Lord.
She will now be the second woman to take on the role as the Time Lord after Jodie Whittaker portrayed the 13th doctor.
The finale also saw Jodie Whittaker, the 13th doctor, make a guest appearance as Ncuti's Doctor appeared to be travelling through alternate universes.

Leavitt escalates attacks against BBC over Hamas coverage

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt has escalated her attacks against the BBC for its recent coverage of the Israel-Hamas war. Leavitt, 27, said that the BBC took 'the word of Hamas' after it reported on a shooting at an aid station in Gaza on Sunday. The Hamas-backed Civil Defense agency claims there were between 21 to 31 killed after Israeli forces opened up fire at an aid station near Rafah on Sunday. Over 170 were reported injured, though Israel denies it was involved. 'Unfortunately, unlike some in the media we don't take the word of Hamas with total truth. We like to look into it when they speak, unlike the BBC,' Leavitt said during a press briefing on Tuesday after getting questioned about the incident. She accused the British outlet of writing 'multiple headlines' that she took issue with. ' Israeli tank kills 26, Israeli tank kills 21, Israeli gunfire kills 31, Red Cross says 21 people were killed in an aid incident,' Leavitt said of the BBC's changing headline. 'And then oh wait they had to correct and take down their entire story, saying we reviewed the footage and couldn't find any evidence of anything,' the secretary charged. 'So we're going to look into reports before we confirm them from this podium or before we take action and I suggest that journalists who actually care about truth do the same to reduce the amount of disinformation that's going around the globe on this front,' she continued, rebuking the outlet. The tongue lashing was so fierce that BBC put out a statement refuting the Trump administration official's claims, calling them 'completely wrong.' 'The claim the BBC took down a story after reviewing footage is completely wrong. We did not remove any story and we stand by our journalism,' a BBC spokesperson wrote. Leavitt then hit back again at the BBC Thursday on X. 'Me: The White House doesn't take Hamas's word as total truth like the fake news BBC. Fake News BBC: We didn't do that! We just quoted the Hamas-run health ministry to run with our false claims,' Leavitt wrote. What originally set Leavitt off on her tirade against BBC's reporting on Hamas earlier this week was a question from the press corps on the incident. The administration is currently looking into the reports and the 'veracity of them,' Leavitt said addressing the substance of the attacks before ripping into the British outlet. Though the BBC admitted to changing its story's headline to reflect the updated totals from Hamas authorities, it claimed it later ran with the appropriate numbers. The report 'always clearly attributed, from the first figure of 15 from medics, through the 31 killed from the Hamas-run health ministry to the final Red Cross statement of 'at least 21' at their field hospital,' the company's statement says. Reports vary, with a Reuters headline indicating that over 30 were killed while a New York Times report indicates over 20 were slain. The BBC even admits in its statement that reports remain unclear about the exact death total resulting from the Sunday attack. The Gaza Health Ministry, which has consistently reported the numbers of those killed in the war with Israel since the beginning of the conflict, is run by Hamas, which is considered a terrorist group by the U.S.

PK Kemsley spotted ‘all over' ANOTHER Real Housewife at London bar after divorce from Dorit

RHOBH's PK Kemsley was spotted with another Real Housewife after his split from Dorit, and was "all over her" at a London bar. PK, 56, was caught getting close to a Real Housewives of London star during a night out in his native city on Wednesday, June 4. 7 7 An onlooker told The U.S. Sun, PK was "very flirty" with Amanda Cronin, 56, at celebrity hotspot The George in Mayfair. The pair were seen enjoying each other's company alongside Kyle Richards' estranged husband Mauricio Umansky. The source said: 'Amanda and PK were at The George together last night and it looked like a blossoming romance. "He was all over her like an excited puppy dog. "It was very flirty and they weren't scared of hiding it. "PK was absolutely loving the attention and didn't leave Amanda's side all night." Amanda, a luxury skincare entrepreneur and socialite, even shared a snap on Instagram from outside the exclusive members' bar. A second source said her RHOL co-stars are already buzzing about the liaison, with cameras currently rolling on the show's debut season. The insider added: "Her friends from the show are all calling each other." RHOBH star Dorit Kemsley's husband PK slammed for 'horrible' treatment of guest as couple 'heads for split' Amanda is the co-founder of Amanda Caroline Skincare, which sells serums and creams to fight the visible signs of aging. She currently has over 82,000 followers on Instagram - which is sure to skyrocket when RHOL drops later this year. The influencer lives in a £12 million Mayfair home. Her famous exes include George Michael's Wham! bandmate Andrew Ridgeley and energy mogul Mark Daeche, whom she landed a multi-million pound settlement from in 2019. It's hoped she will divulge details of their whirlwind romance when the show drops later this year. When contacted for comment, PK told The U.S. Sun: "There's no romance. Amanda and I are just friends." Amanda did not respond to a request for comment. DIFFICULT DIVORCE PK and Dorit announced their separation in May last year, nine years after getting married in 2015. She officially fired for divorce in April. Boy George's manager has since hired Britney Spears' former divorce lawyer to deal with his split, as exclusively revealed by The U.S. Sun. Court filings show she asked for sole legal and physical custody of her two children with her ex, along with spousal support. PK has hired attorney Marci Levine, a partner with Summers Levine, LLP, who previously represented Spears during her divorce from ex, Kevin Federline. Levine has been practicing law since 1990, including complex financial and custody matters. In PK's legal response, he is seeking joint custody of their two children. He also waived his right to spousal support and has asked the court to terminate Dorit's own request. Dorit admitted on the show she was bracing herself for a difficult divorce and filed a day after PK was pictured kissing reality star Shana Wall. Shana, 50, completed on CBS's The Amazing Race in 2007. They have not been seen together since. 7 7 7 7 7

My two-ingredient solution will banish green algae on fences & stop it coming back for good, it costs less than a fiver

GARDENERS love to take pride in their outside spaces, from growing hundreds of plants to getting the perfect lawn. But green algae growing on garden fences can totally ruin it. 1 Unfortunately, wooden fences are the perfect breeding ground for the stuff. Wooden fences, that are often overshadowed by plants and exposed to weather elements, provide the perfect environment for algae growth. While it can be time-consuming to clean, it doesn't have to be hard. And now a fence expert has shared the perfect solution to getting rid of it and stopping it from coming back. The experts at say you need just two items to banish it. To start, prep the area around your fence by covering plants with plastic to ensure you don't kill any of them. Once you've protected the surrounding area, it's time to mix the solution. The experts state: "Mix one part bleach and two parts warm water. "Before you begin cleaning, make sure you have some rubber gloves handy." Apply the solution to the fence and scrub with a hard brush. I made a DIY fence for £68 with pallets from Facebook Marketplace - it gives more privacy & people say it's 'fantastic' Eventually, the green algae spots will begin to disappear. You can then let the solution sit for up to an hour before rinsing it off. You then want to let the fence completely dry before moving on to the next step of painting the fence. The experts added: "No paints or stains can be applied until the fence is fully dried out, and while it can be helpful to remove some of the excess moisture with deck cloths, it can take between 24 and 48 hours for the wood to reabsorb its natural oils." Gardening tips and hacks How to transform your garden on a cheap budget How to preserve your favourite flowers at home - 5 easy tips explained Which plants should I be wary about my dog being around? When is the best time to prune roses? When should I start planting daffodil bulbs? How high can a garden fence be and can it be taller than my neighbours? What colour of fence paint makes a garden look bigger? Will my garden plants still grow if my backyard doesn't receive any sun? When the fence is completely dry, you can prevent the algae from forming again by applying a fresh coat of waterproof stain and sealant. Be sure to do this when no rain is expected within the following 24 hours. The pros finish: "While a brush is the best method to get in the smaller spaces, you can use a roller or a sprayer, but just be sure to add extra applications to have total coverage. "A coat of sealer will weather-proof it and give you extra coverage for recesses or grooves that may have been missed." You can buy fence sealant from Tool Station for just £7.68 and a bottle of bleach from Tesco for 75p. You don't have to use the whole tub of sealant if you are spot treating the fence, making the hack CST less than a fiver.
