Japanese man Hajime offers unique sperm donation by sleeping with women or no-sex insemination, sparking mixed reactions online.
A Japanese man has drawn widespread attention online for offering a unique form of sperm donation. Unlike typical sperm banks, he sometimes helps women conceive by sleeping with them while also offering a no-sex option for insemination.
According to a report by South China Morning Post (SCMP), the 38-year-old man, known only by the alias Hajime, began helping others after receiving a plea from an infertile friend.
How It All Started
Five years ago, Hajime's friend, who faced infertility, asked him to sleep with his wife to help her get pregnant. 'My university friend told me he lacked sperm and could not have children with his wife, and then he asked me to sleep with her and get her pregnant," Hajime said, as quoted by the publication.
Though initially shocked, he decided to help after understanding the struggles many face with fertility.
'To be honest, seeing the child born gave me mixed feelings, but my friend's parents had apparently mentioned many times that they wanted a grandchild. So, he was beaming with joy and was very grateful to me," Hajime said.
To expand his efforts, Hajime created a social media account where he anonymously offers his sperm donation services, SCMP reported. He shares his monthly infectious disease test results, which cost around 11,700 yen (approximately Rs 3,900), to reassure potential clients. Hajime also posts his university diploma to confirm his background and credibility.
Rules And Conditions
Hajime provides his service free of charge and only asks for travel expenses. He clearly states that he will not sign contracts or claim paternity or financial responsibility for children conceived through his donations.
Who Seeks His Help
So far, Hajime has received more than 20 requests, and he has successfully helped seven women become pregnant with four children already born. While he expected most clients to be infertile couples, the majority turned out to be female same-sex partners, followed by single women seeking children without marriage.
Hajime's Practice Sparks Mixed Reactions
His story has sparked curiosity and discussion across social media.
One person commented, 'Without formal records, there is a potential risk of problematic marriages in the future. That is the real issue."
'The demand clearly exists, so should the laws and regulations not keep pace with the times?" another asked.
But Hajime's practice exists in a legal grey area, as Japan has no specific laws that ban private sperm donation or its online promotion.

Cabinet approves setting up of electronic manufacturing hub
Bhopal: The state cabinet, headed by CM Mohan Yadav, on Tuesday approved the establishment of an Electronic Manufacturing Cluster at Bandikhedi village, Berasia tehsil in Bhopal district, under the govt of India's EMC 2.0 project. Briefing reporters after the cabinet meeting, the minister for urban administration, Kailash Vijayvargiya, said, "This is a major achievement of our govt. We required a centre for research and development of electronic manufacturing." The cluster will promote the Electronics System Design and Manufacturing (ESDM) sector with world-class infrastructure and Common Facility Centres (CFCs). "For the project, 210.21 acres of land were allocated, and approval was granted for a total project cost of Rs 371.95 crore, of which Rs 146.63 crore will come as the central share and Rs 225.32 crore from the state," Vijayvargiya said. The govt approved 1,570 posts for these ayurvedic centres. Each division in the state will now have one Ayurvedic Medical College, strengthening Ayurveda-based healthcare and the wellness industry, the minister said. The colleges will be funded under the National AYUSH Mission, with an allocation of Rs 70 crore for each ayurvedic college, totalling Rs 350 crore, to be paid in a 60:40 ratio between the Centre and the state. Delhi govt hikes stipend of nursing interns to ₹13,150: Officials
The Delhi government on Tuesday approved a hike in the monthly stipend of government hospital nursing interns from Rs 500 to Rs 13,150 in the first revision in 27 years, officials said on Tuesday. The decision, taken in a cabinet meeting, will benefit nearly 180 nursing interns from the three nursing colleges attached to the Delhi government's Guru Teg Bahadur Hospital, Lok Nayak Hospital, and Deen Dayal Upadhyay Hospital, a health department official told PTI. Health Minister Pankaj Singh said the revision addresses a long-pending demand of nursing students and aims to provide them parity with MBBS interns. "For 27 years, this issue was ignored. By raising the stipend to Rs 13,150, we are ensuring that nursing interns receive the dignity, respect and support they deserve," he said. He also said that the government expects the hike to improve the morale of students, provide them the financial stability during their training, and strengthen the city's healthcare workforce. A government note said, "Earlier governments ignored this issue for nearly three decades, but under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the leadership of Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, our government has resolved this disparity."
