Together with the German company Brain of Materials, Trützschler played a crucial role in ensuring that the so-called WYRON truecycled yarn meets the strict requirements of the automotive sector. Featured in the Lotus Eletre and Emeya models, this innovative material proves that sustainability and top performance can go hand in hand.

Brain of Materials, located in Mönchengladbach, Germany, produces the WYRON truecycled yarn for Lotus, using state-of-the-art Trützschler technology. The open-end yarn consists of 50% post-consumer textile waste and 50% recycled polyester, Nm 15. It is used for the back sections of car seats, providing a sustainable solution without compromising the standards expected by Lotus, a prestigious car brand known for its high-performance sports cars and electric vehicles. According to Lotus, the yarn's premium haptics, lightweight properties, and sustainability attributes perfectly suit the spirit of its Emeya and Eletre models. Adding to its sustainability credentials, the production process – from collecting post-consumer waste to spinning the yarn – takes place entirely in Western Europe.

FBI warns of 'dangerous' hacking campaign linked to North Korean attack group
The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), in collaboration with the US Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA), has issued a joint cybersecurity advisory following a surge in confirmed victims of Play ransomware attacks in May. The FBI reports that these threat actors have impacted over 900 organisations across North and South America, as well as Europe, including businesses and critical infrastructure providers. The updated advisory, released as part of the ongoing Stop Ransomware campaign, includes findings from new investigations this year that reveal an evolution in the cybercriminal group's tactics, techniques and procedures (TTPs). The advisory aims to inform organisations on how to defend against these attacks. Who are the hackers, why this is dangerous and more details According to FBI (via Forbes) advisory, Play a closed ransomware group, operating independently to "guarantee the secrecy of deals" regarding exfiltrated data. Play ransomware is believed to be linked to Andariel, a North Korean state-sponsored attack group associated with the Democratic People's Republic of Korea's "Reconnaissance General Bureau." Researchers suggest Play is an "integral part" of Andariel's cyberattack arsenal, distributed by threat groups such as Balloonfly. The hackers leave ransom notes with victims that do not include an initial demand or payment instructions. Instead, victims are directed to contact the attackers via email, often using unique German email domains. The FBI noted that some victims are contacted by telephone and threatened with data release to compel ransom payment. Balloonfly has been implicated in multiple incidents involving Play ransomware deployment, primarily against businesses in the US and Europe, often using a malware backdoor to infect Windows systems. Microsoft Threat Intelligence Center and Microsoft Security Response Center previously observed Play ransomware being deployed after attackers exploited a zero-day vulnerability in the Windows Common Log File System. This flaw was mitigated in April. The FBI emphasizes that the Play ransomware campaign shows no signs of abating and urges organisations to enhance their defenses immediately. DY Chandrachud takes key role in German energy firm vs Russia dispute
In a significant development in the ongoing arbitration between German energy company Wintershall and Russia, former Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud has been designated as the appointing authority under the Energy Charter Treaty, a multilateral pact that works under a framework for cooperation in the energy Chandrachud, who demitted office as the Chief Justice in November 2024, is widely regarded for his contributions to constitutional law and international philosophy of law. On World Environment Day 2025, Hettich India reiterated its focus on sustainable operations and environmentally responsible innovation, as part of its ongoing alignment with global green manufacturing practices. The company confirmed that all its manufacturing units in India continue to operate as zero-discharge facilities, ensuring that no industrial waste is released into the environment. A significant portion of Hettich India's energy needs is also being met through renewable sources such as solar and wind, as part of its wider efforts to reduce reliance on fossil fuels . Carbon neutrality target Andre Eckholt, Managing Partner, Hettich Group , stated, 'For us, sustainability is a core value and not just another obligation.
