An Eagles adversary walks back his harsh take on the Philadelphia faithful

You aren't going to believe this
Jared Verse turns 25 years old in November but has already lived a life that would inspire envy among men ten years his senior. His NFL resume already consists of a Defensive Rookie of the Year nod and a spot on the 2024 Pro Bowl roster.
He was named to the Pro Football Writers of America's All-Rookie Team, but as famous as he is everywhere else, he is infamous in the City of Brotherly Love. If Verse looks familiar to you, it's because he should. A little over five months ago, he shared some disparaging remarks about the Philadelphia Eagles fan base.
'I hate Eagles fans. They're so annoying." Those were the then-rookie's words when speaking during an interview with the Los Angeles Times. That caught the NFL's most loyal fan base off guard. Sure, they've heard those types of comments before, but this time, the verbal assault felt unwarranted and a little more personal.
Maybe that's true because they came ahead of a Divisional Round clash during the postseason. Perhaps everyone was thrown off because Verse grew up in Berwick, Pennsylvania, approximately 2.5 hours away from Philadelphia. Whatever the case, cooler heads prevailed, and a football game, as expected, went on as planned.
Verse backed up his talk by playing one heck of a game. The Birds beat L.A. for the second time last season. Respect was earned on both sides, and recently, one of the NFL's young stars walked back his comments about those passionate fans in green who show up season after season to root for Philadelphia to victory.
Jared Verse compliments Philadelphia fans (And he does so more than once).
Only Whistle can invite an NFL star to a spa and make engaging content. That's a compliment, by the way. Recently, Casey Rieger hung out with Jared Verse, and the now-second-year sensation discussed everything from receiving a call on draft day to, you guessed it, his opinion on Eagles fans.
The discussion about that latter topic might surprise you. Which opposing team did Verse say had the best fans? Trust us. You aren't going to believe this:
'Probably the Eagles. I've got to give them that. It's just because I like when you kind of get into it. You're aggressive. You're loud. And they stand by that with no doubt.'
Which fan base did Verse say is the toughest to play in front of? Again, he named those 'annoying' fans in Philly.
'Playing the Eagles is like playing your rival in college because you never know what they're going to say. And they're going to try to say disrespectful stuff. Don't get me wrong, they're not going to say anything where it's like, 'Bro, you crossed the line.' But they're going to say something where you're like, 'Hey, who you talking to?''
It's always cool when animosity ends peacefully, when cooler heads prevail. Ultimately, some trash talk between a player and a city led to emotionally charged football and mutual shows of respect. Most importantly, it led to an Eagles win. Who are we to complain?
Verse is from PA. He knows the vibes, and guess what? Philadelphia and Los Angeles renew acquaintances in Week 3 of the regular season. A budding rivalry will be reignited. Let's see if Nick Sirianni can hang another loss on Sean McVay.

'Not just a gown, a piece of poetry,' the bride wrote in the caption of an Instagram post showing her gown. 'I feel like a princess,' Sánchez told the magazine. She also wore a Schiaparelli couture gold corset dress to the couple's Thursday welcome dinner. Bezos, also the founder of space company Blue Origin and owner of The Washington Post, proposed to Sánchez in 2023 after five years together. Bezos, the world's third richest person, and Sánchez, requested that in lieu of gifts, guests donate to local organizations supporting the preservation of Venice. 'Donations on your behalf are being made to UNESCO Venice Office to safeguard the city's irreplaceable cultural heritage, to Corila to restore the vital lagoon habitats that protect Venice's future, and to Venice International University to support research and education for sustainable solutions,' the invitation reads. Jim Harbaugh, Warde Manuel added to Michigan class-action lawsuit over Matt Weiss scandal

The fallout for the University of Michigan and the ongoing Matt Weiss computer access crimes scandal is continuing to escalate. A class-action lawsuit has long been filed by some of the victims in Ann Arbor back in March 2025, with 11 female student athletes, along with victims from other schools, seeking damages from the university, given Weiss's alleged crimes happened on campus, using school resources. Now, former head coach Jim Harbaugh and athletic director Warde Manuel are among those being added to the suit, according to multiple reports. According to both the Associated Press as well as The Detroit News, Harbaugh, Manuel, former U-M presidents Santa J. Ono and Dr. Mark Schlissel were added to the civil lawsuit, with the lawyer for the group of 'Jane Does' taking particular umbrage over a lack of action by the former Wolverines head coach. Via The Detroit News: (subscription required) 'Harbaugh led and encouraged a culture within the football program that resulted in a complete lack of oversight or protection for non-football student athletes,' the lawsuit alleges. 'Had Harbaugh implemented basic oversight of his staff, plaintiffs…would have been protected against predators such as Weiss.' Harbaugh, Manuel and others failed to act to protect students, the lawsuit alleges. 'Naming Head Coach Jim Harbaugh and Athletic Director Warde Manuel in this complaint reflects our belief that leadership at the highest levels either knew of these threats or deliberately ignored them, prioritizing athletic prestige and profit over the safety and dignity of students,' one of the women's lawyers, Parker Stinar, said in a statement. According to The Detroit News, this is one of 13 civil lawsuits filed against former Michigan quarterbacks coach and co-offensive coordinator Matt Weiss since it was revealed that the United States Department of Justice was bringing charges against him. After Weiss's indictment, Harbaugh had commented on the situation when asked about it at NFL owners meetings: 'It was after the TCU game that we — that I found out, we found out, that there was allegations,' the Los Angeles Chargers head coach told the Detroit Free Press' Dave Birkett on Monday in Palm Beach, Florida, at the NFL's annual spring meeting. 'And you said it, I mean indictment, that's not a word that — sympathy for the victims and for Matt's family. It's shocking.' According to the AP, the suit alleges that Harbaugh had known, as there was a staff member who had seen Weiss accessing 'sensitive' information on Schembechler Hall computers in late-December 2022, just days before the team traveled to Phoenix to face TCU in the Vrbo Fiesta Bowl. 'Had Harbaugh implemented basic oversight of his staff, plaintiffs and the class would have been protected against predators such as Weiss,' the updated lawsuit states. 'Instead, Weiss was a highly compensated asset that was promoted by and within the football program, from which position he was able to, and did, target female student athletes.' The lawsuit says a staff member saw Weiss viewing private information at Schembechler Hall, headquarters for the football team, around Dec. 21, 2022, and reported it before Michigan played Texas Christian University in a playoff game days later on Dec. 31. Like any court case, it is also true that the plaintiff must meet the burden of proof to indicate that the newly-added parties were privy to Weiss's dealings behind closed doors. Weiss's house was raided by the FBI in January 2023 and he was subsequently suspended by the university. Michigan terminated Weiss on January 20, 2023. Maize & Blue Review's Josh Henschke had discovered the police report during that interim week which had short detail on the intent of the raid, while The Detroit News' Angelique Chengelis had noted the December 21-23 timeline of the Michigan staffer's discovery of Weiss's doings on the same day, January 17, 2023.

Travis Kelce's 'Happy Gilmore 2' co-star, Christopher McDonald, lauds Super Bowl champ's acting skills

Travis Kelce has excelled in football, but this summer he is putting his acting skills on full display. The Kansas City Chiefs tight end will star in the upcoming "Happy Gilmore 2" movie. Hollywood star Christopher McDonald will reprise his role as Shooter McGavin in the sequel. Earlier this week, McDonald spoke to People about how Kelce fared during the filming process. "Travis Kelce has been out there, and I just really liked him as a person. He is really funny. Way too handsome, by the way, but really a good actor actually," the Emmy nominee told the outlet. McDonald continued to praise the three-time Super Bowl winner, saying he is "surprisingly good." McDonald was also complimentary of Kelce's skill on the golf course. "I think he's got game," the actor noted, admitting he "did not" get to play with the NFL star while filming. Earlier this year, Kelce described the opportunity to be a part of the movie as "a dream come true." "I thought SNL was going to be the peak of my acting and showman or entertainment career," Kelce said during an appearance on "The Pat McAfee Show" in January. "Working with Happy Gilmore himself, the Sandman and Happy Productions, it was off the chain." The sequel to the 1996 sports comedy film is scheduled to be released July 25. It will be available on Netflix. Follow Fox News Digital's sports coverage on X, and subscribe to the Fox News Sports Huddle newsletter.
