Dortmund renew interest in Chelsea defender following Niklas Sule injury blow
Sule is expected to be sidelined for around two months after hobbling out of Dortmund's pre-season clash with Juventus with a torn calf muscle on Sunday.
BVB are also without Nico Schlotterbeck, who is still yet to return from a serious knee problem, and the looming threat of a full-blown defensive injury crisis has forced the club to consider their options in the transfer market.
According to Sky Deutschland, young Argentine defender Juan Gimenez, 19, who plays for Rosario Central, has been on Dortmund's radar for some time and is a potential option for the Bundesliga outfit.
It would likely require an offer of between €5-8m (£4.3-6.9m) for Dortmund to snap up Gimenez.

The report claims have also remain interested in Chelsea defender Veiga having first explored a move for the versatile Portugal international in January.
BVB's bid to sign Veiga over the winter had appeared to be creeping in the right direction and the 22-year-old even agreed personal terms over a switch to the Westfalenstadion.
However, the proposed move never materialised and Veiga would go on to join Juventus on loan for the second half of the campaign, with the centre-half making 15 appearances in all competitions for the Serie A giants.
There are still six years remaining on Veiga's current contract at Stamford Bridge.
Veiga has struggled to establish himself at Chelsea having joined the club in a £12m deal from FC Basel just a year ago and reports last month claimed the Portuguese was keen to quit the Blues.
Enzo Maresca left Veiga out of his squad for Chelsea's Club World Cup campaign this summer and it appears the youngster is not a part of the Italian's plans for the upcoming season.
It was only last October that Maresca singled Veiga out for special praise after handing the ex-Basel man a rare start in the side's Europa Conference League victory over Panathinaikos.
'I just said to Renato, he has played already as a centre-back, a full-back, holding midfielder, attacking midfielder,' the Chelsea head coach told reporters after the 4-1 win.
'He has already played four or five positions. One of my first press conferences, I said that the reason why I really like and love Chelsea is because many players can be versatile.
'Today, in my idea, if they can play different positions, then it is better for the team and especially for the players. Today, if you just play one position, I don't think it's enough.
'You need to learn more positions. Renato, Malo [Gusto], they are playing in different positions and they are doing well.'

Lennon Miller and family 'forever grateful' to Motherwell after Udinese switch
The 18-year-old and his father on the club's support down the years Lennon Miller and his family have paid tribute to the support of Motherwell Football Club down the years after the 18-year-old sealed a sensational switch to Italian football. The Wishaw kid has come through the Fir Park academy and on Wednesday pocketed the Steelmen a club record fee when he made the move to Serie A side Udinese in a deal believed to be around £5m - taking Motherwell's transfer fee haul to almost £12m in the last five-years. Lennon, a former pupil at Coltness High School, shattered club records during his relatively short stint in the Motherwell first team - becoming the club's youngest-ever player and goalscorer at 16, as well as becoming the club's youngest-ever captain when he led the team out for the Premoer Sports Cup semi-final against Rangers at Hampden last season. Scotland senior caps have now followed and his sterling showings in claret and amber have earned him a shot at the big time, with a life-changing five-year deal penned in Italy and a new lifestyle on the continent awaiting him. It is, of course a proud moment for his family and especially ex-pro dad Lee, who played for Aberdeen and Scotland in his pomp. And now father and son have taken to social media to thank the club that made all of this possible. Lee posted on X: "From the first day Lennon pulled on a Motherwell Academy shirt at just 7 years old, to walking out at Fir Park, this club has been a massive part of our lives. It's been a real dream come true watching it all unfold "Throughout the years, from academy to first team, the belief and support Lennon has had here has been wonderful. "To all the coaches and staff who helped guide him over the years, to every teammate who shared the pitch, and to the fans who backed him from the very beginning, thank you from the bottom of our hearts. "It's time for his next step, but we watch him leave with full hearts and unforgettable memories. "Motherwell will always be a special club to us. Forever grateful - The Millers." Lennon, who could make his debut on Monday in the Coppa Italia when Udinese host Carrarese, said: "It's never easy to say goodbye, but the time has come for me to move on from Motherwell, the club that's been my home since I was a wee boy. "From joining the academy at 7, to making my first-team debut, this club has helped shape me as a footballer and a person. I'll always be proud to have worn the claret and amber and represented a club that means so much to me. "To the fans, your support has been everything. From Fir Park to away days, I could feel you willing me on from the stands and I'll never forget that "To my teammates, coaches, and everyone behind the scenes over the years, thank you for believing in me, pushing me, and helping me develop. I've got so many amazing memories from my time here, I'll cherish these and carry them with me. "Thank you for having me, one of your own, LM 38."

PSG vs Tottenham Hotspur UEFA Super Cup prediction, odds and betting offer
PSG face Tottenham in the 2025 UEFA Super Cup at Stadio Friuli as Luis Enrique meets Thomas Frank's new-look Spurs at the Stadio Friuli in Udine Paris Saint‑Germain and Tottenham Hotspur meet on Wednesday night for the 2025 UEFA Super Cup, the annual showdown between the Champions League and Europa League holders. The tie is set for the Stadio Friuli in Udine, a compact stage well suited to a one‑off with little margin for error. Luis Enrique's side finally captured Europe's biggest prize earlier this summer, sweeping aside Inter Milan 5‑0 in the final. Momentum then stalled at the revamped Club World Cup, where Chelsea beat them 3‑0 in New Jersey. This Super Cup will be their first outing since that defeat, a chance to clear the head and frame the season not around a setback, but around habits that won them the continent. Spurs ended a 17‑year wait for silverware by edging Manchester United 1‑0 in the Europa League final. Change followed regardless, with Ange Postecoglou departing and Thomas Frank chosen to lead the next chapter. The Dane inherits belief, a medal in the cabinet and an expectant fanbase; now comes the task of shaping structure and tempo without dulling the edge that delivered May's breakthrough. PSG's passing structure should see plenty of the ball, with full‑backs stepping in to compress play. Tottenham are unlikely to sit deep; expect coordinated pressure from the front and quick outlets when possession turns over. The first half may be tight on chances, with the contest opening after the hour as legs fade and benches are used. In a single match, moments matter more than patterns, and composure in both boxes tends to decide everything. For PSG, this is an early chance to add another European honour and show that the Club World Cup was a bump, not a bend. For Tottenham, lifting the Super Cup would harden last season's progress into something repeatable, a statement that their drought‑ending win was a beginning rather than a one‑off. For both clubs, it is a night to set standards, not stories. Man Utd's Rasmus Hojlund's warnings before splashing out as ace has sudden change of heart
Rasmus Hojlund has endured a torrid time since his £72 million move to Manchester United in August 2023, but the Red Devils were warned they were paying over the odds for the young Danish star Manchester United were warned about splashing the cash on under-fire forward Rasmus Hojlund before they parted with £72million for the striker in August 2023. After a promising debut season, Hojlund has struggled at Old Trafford. The recent arrival of Benjamin Sesko from RB Leipzig, in a deal worth £74m, has now also increased the competition for the young Dane in United's forward areas. Hojlund, 22, appears to have had a change of heart on his future too, despite claiming he would stay and fight for his place at United earlier on in the summer, with AC Milan now linked with a swoop. However, United could have avoided paying over the odds for a player that was once targeted by club co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe for underperforming. According to The Telegraph, United's data financial modelling claimed that Hojlund, who was playing for Atalanta in Serie A at the time, was actually worth £50m. READ MORE: Man Utd flop ordered to change name on back of his shirt after joining new club Regardless, United chiefs stormed ahead with the move, paying £22m more than was recommended for the striker. Hojlund has since seen his valuation drop rapidly. The Denmark international, who has scored 26 goals in 95 games for the club, is now valued at around £30m by United. Not only did United's own data team warn about signing Hojlund, but his own manager at Atalanta, Gian Piero Gasperini, claimed the move to Old Trafford was coming too soon for Hojlund. The current Roma boss helped Hojlund become a force to be reckoned with in Bergamo, with the youngster scoring 10 goals and providing four assists in 34 games. But he harboured doubts on Hojlund continuing his development at United. "I think so (Hojlund should stay one more season)," the 67-year-old said. "Then after that it's difficult. He undoubtedly has great talent, but also great room for improvement. These things are visible in both senses, he must work to improve because he has the characteristics to become one of the strongest strikers in the world.' Gasperini's concerns were echoed by two top scouts as former United boss Erik ten Hag circled a move for the player. One said: "He's still unproven and the Premier League is a very unforgiving place especially if you're in a Manchester United shirt. "He's left-footed, strong and powerful so inevitably there will be some comparisons with [Erling] Haaland but he's not in his league. Haaland is a generational talent. Hojlund's stats don't come anywhere near Haaland and his finishing can be erratic." Hojlund is only two years into a five-year deal at United but the club decided earlier this year to cash in if they recruited a new centre forward, something they have now done with Sesko. United had hoped to offload Hojlund on a permanent deal this summer, but Milan are seeking to bring him on loan to the San Siro. Hojlund was an unused substitute in United's pre-season 1-1 draw with Fiorentina, which actually marked the first time he did not appear in any of United's five pre-season matches this summer. Yet sources close to Hojlund felt he would have to leave United should they bolster their forward line with Sesko. Ruben Amorim has also refused to give assurances that the player would stay, suggesting Hojlund's time at Old Trafford now looks to be coming to an end.
