Royal Ascot free bets and betting offers 2025

Telegraph2 days ago

Royal Ascot (June 17-21) is fast approaching and this five-day bonanza of top-class Flat action is one of the most eagerly anticipated weeks in the horse racing calendar.
The meeting always opens with a spectacular card on the Tuesday – three of the first four races are Group 1 contests and there are a further five top-level events over the next four days.
As ever, there are a huge number of generous betting offers available from online bookmakers for Royal Ascot, which is arguably the best week of racing in the entire Flat season.
Such promos give punters numerous opportunities to profit from what is certainly one of the most prestigious meetings (and, of course, social gatherings) in the world.
The action gets going with the Queen Anne Stakes – a Group 1 race for the older milers – on the Tuesday, which also features the Group 1 King Charles III Stakes for the sprinters and the Group 1 St James's Palace Stakes for the leading three-year-olds over a mile.
The impressive Irish 2,000 Guineas winner Field Of Gold is the headline act for the St James's Palace, if not the entire day.
Wednesday features the 1m 2f Group 1 Prince of Wales's Stakes and on Thursday, which is Ladies' Day, it's the 2m 4f Group 1 Ascot Gold Cup.
On Friday there's a Group 1 double-header – the Commonwealth Cup for three-year-old sprinters and the Coronation Stakes for three-year-old fillies over a mile – plus there's another chance for the speedsters on Saturday in the Group 1 Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee Stakes.
That's eight top-level contests across the five days in total, and of course there are a host of big-field handicaps, as well as an array of competitive-looking two-year-old races that could unearth some stars of the future.
Betting sites are at their most generous with offers and promotions for the big festivals and Royal Ascot is as good as it gets in the horse racing world.
When it comes to the handicaps, look out for the bookies with the most generous each-way terms – although extra place races won't be limited to just the handicaps, as many other contests will have big fields and with firms paying well beyond the standard place terms.
There will also be loads of boosted odds deals including on some of the week's highest-profile runners.
Rosallion (Queen Anne Stakes), Lead Artist (Queen Anne Stakes), Los Angeles (Prince of Wales's Stakes), Illinois (Ascot Gold Cup) and Lake Victoria (Coronation Stakes) are a few of the star horses set for Royal Ascot.
Existing customers of horse racing betting sites will be able to find an array of bets with enhanced prices, but it is new customers who can reap the most generous rewards.
Bookmakers look to attract new sign-ups by hugely boosting the odds of certain horses. For example, a horse who is generally priced at 2/1 to win could be available at 33/1 for new customers.
Such deals may be limited to small stakes, with any winnings beyond the regular odds being paid out as free bets.
Take a look at the table above to discover the numerous betting offers available on this year's Royal Ascot.

IKEA is shutting ANOTHER UK store in just a fortnight's time after ‘lessons learned' amid customer backlash

YET another IKEA store has announced it's shutting its doors and saying farewell - or farväl - to customers. Retail giant IKEA was founded in Sweden in 1943, and opened its first UK branch in Warrington, Cheshire, in 1987. The next Swedish store to pull the plug is the Aintree Plan and Order Point store in Liverpool. Set up in December 2022, the Aintree Racecourse Retail Park store was the first 'test and trial format' in the UK. The smaller Plan & Order Point store was dedicated to kitchen and bedroom planning, and offered customers home furnishing advice. IKEA explained the closure was 'a result of valuable learnings which will take the conceptual format in a direction to better suit the needs of UK customers'. A spokesperson for the retail giant expressed: 'There has been an increased demand for Click and Collect services, a desire to shop a smaller selection of home furnishing accessories, as well as the ability to return goods to physical IKEA units, something which, owing to the space available, the current location is unable to offer. 'To better service its customers, future Plan and Order Point openings, including in Dundee, Hull and York will offer these services. "IKEA also remains committed to trialling new formats including its upcoming small stores, one of which will open in Chester later this year.' Customers will be able to collect any purchases from Tesco Extra Birkenhead, Tesco Superstore Old Swan, the Warrington store or the upcoming smaller new Chester store. The disheartening retail news comes after the closure of IKEA Stockport in Merseyway Shopping Centre, which opened just two years ago. The retailer has confirmed that both Plan and Order points will be closing on June 16. The Sun takes a trip inside the new Ikea Oxford Street Other Plan and Order points, such as the ones in Dundee, York and Hull, will be adapted to meet those new demands and also include a small range of home furnishing accessories to buy. The news comes after IKEA opened its own hotel in the Canary Islands. Boasting cheap rooms, a swimming pool and breakfast, it also offers some of their most popular homeware items. Las Dunas de Santa Catalina Boutique House is a new two-star hotel owned by the interiors brand in Gran Canaria. Rooms start from £105 a night, which includes a continental breakfast, and works out to just over £50 a night for two people. 2 Why are retailers closing stores? RETAILERS have been feeling the squeeze since the pandemic, while shoppers are cutting back on spending due to the soaring cost of living crisis. High energy costs and a move to shopping online after the pandemic are also taking a toll, and many high street shops have struggled to keep going. However, additional costs have added further pain to an already struggling sector. The British Retail Consortium has predicted that the Treasury's hike to employer NICs from April will cost the retail sector £2.3billion. At the same time, the minimum wage will rise to £12.21 an hour from April, and the minimum wage for people aged 18-20 will rise to £10 an hour, an increase of £1.40. The Centre for Retail Research (CRR) has also warned that around 17,350 retail sites are expected to shut down this year. It comes on the back of a tough 2024 when 13,000 shops closed their doors for good, already a 28% increase on the previous year. Professor Joshua Bamfield, director of the CRR said: "The results for 2024 show that although the outcomes for store closures overall were not as poor as in either 2020 or 2022, they are still disconcerting, with worse set to come in 2025." It comes after almost 170,000 retail workers lost their jobs in 2024. End-of-year figures compiled by the Centre for Retail Research showed the number of job losses spiked amid the collapse of major chains such as Homebase and Ted Baker. It said its latest analysis showed that a total of 169,395 retail jobs were lost in the 2024 calendar year to date. This was up 49,990 – an increase of 41.9% – compared with 2023. It is the highest annual reading since more than 200,000 jobs were lost in 2020 in the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic, which forced retailers to shut their stores during lockdowns. The centre said 38 major retailers went into administration in 2024, including household names such as Lloyds Pharmacy, Homebase, The Body Shop, Carpetright and Ted Baker. Around a third of all retail job losses in 2024, 33% or 55,914 in total, resulted from administrations. Experts have said small high street shops could face a particularly challenging 2025 because of Budget tax and wage changes. Professor Bamfield has warned of a bleak outlook for 2025, predicting that as many as 202,000 jobs could be lost in the sector. "By increasing both the costs of running stores and the costs on each consumer's household it is highly likely that we will see retail job losses eclipse the height of the pandemic in 2020."

Freddy Brazier takes a swipe at dad Jeff's wife in list of things ‘he hates' and confirms he's moved back in with nan

FREDDY Brazier has hit out at his dad Jeff's wife Kate in a scathing attack on things he "hates". The 20-year-old is currently embroiled in a heated war with TV star Jeff over his nan Jackiey Budden, 68. 7 7 In his latest swipe, Freddy has confirmed he is now living with Jackiey in South London and included "step parents" in a list of things he "hates". Writing on TikTok, Freddy said: "I hate a whole load of things." Along with "step parents", he wrote over a picture of himself and Jackiey: "My over thinking, bullies, I'm easily manipulated, my family issues." Freddy, who's Big Brother star mum Jade Goody died from cervical cancer in 2009, also included: "Cancer." Alarmingly, he also included a string of references to his appearance, including his "big lips, nose, teeth" and said he "hates looking in the mirror". Freddy told his TikTok followers: "I don't know how to love because I've never been loved." Writing in the comments section, one person replied: "You're perfect as you are Freddy and have people around you who love you. "Life gets hard and dark at times but try to focus on the things you love and how lucky you are." Another added: "Sending you a big hug Freddy. I hope you find your peace and happiness. I'm on a journey to find mine too & sometimes it's just nice to know there are other people who feel a bit lost too." Freddy has also used the social media platform to confirm to a friend from boxing that he is now living with his gran Jackiey. Freddy Brazier defies dad Jeff to post new TikTok with nan Jackiey after legal action and 'weed smoking' row "Your doing well lil champ. I'm up in Southeast London, now fighting in Putney living in Bermondsey. I'll come down soon message me when you got a fight lil sis," he wrote. The admission came just a day after it was reported that Freddy had spent the last week staying with Jackiey in Bermondsey. Jeff, 46, recently launched legal action to block Jackiey - Jade's mother - from seeing his youngest son. Freddy was just four, and his EastEnders actor brother Bobby five, when Jade died from cancer. The Big Brother legend was just 27 when she passed away and the two boys were then raised by their dad. Jeff married publicist Kate in 2018, when Freddy and Bobby were in their early teens. Long-running feud Jackiey and Jeff have clashed several times over the years before The Sun on Sunday revealed that the former Dancing on Ice contestant had taken legal action following concerns for Freddy's wellbeing. The Sun On Sunday has since published footage and photos of Freddy smoking a suspicious looking cigarette with Jackiey in London. The pair were close to Tower Bridge and were in full view of tourists at the time. Since then, Freddy has continued to dismiss Jeff's concerns about him spending time with his nan. He has shared a TikTok of them dancing in Jackiey's garden, along with a string of photos - including one of them together - declaring: "Home is where the heart is." A source told The Mail this week: "Jeff was never going to keep Freddy away from his Nanny for very long – they've always had a strong bond. "Jeff may hate her for all sorts of reasons going back many years, but Freddy loves her very much. "They had a great time together, playing with her dog and catching up at her flat – where he has often stayed over the years. "Whatever Jeff hoped to achieve with his legal efforts, it hasn't worked." 7 7 7 7
