The Emmy-winning Game of Thrones star's casting has stirred excitement, and now fans are getting their first real look at his chilling character.
Who is Leon Prater in Dexter: Resurrection? Collector of killers
Leon Prater is not an average villain, the actor told Dexter Daily, that his character Leon never commits a violent crime himself but 'likes to be around it secondhand'.
The report added that this subtle distinction adds a disturbing depth to Prater. Although he is not wielding the knife, he is orchestrating the feast. In Dexter: Resurrection, Prater is revealed as a serial killer collector. He hosts intimate dinners for active murderers, offering them a haven to indulge their darkest urges—figuratively and literally.

According to another TV Insider report, Leon Prater's collection includes 'tokens' from infamous killers, and, more chillingly, the presence of several live ones. Among them are:
Mia a.k.a. Lady Vengeance (Krysten Ritter): a seductive predator who targets sexual abusers
Al (Eric Stonestreet): a jovial dad with a ponytail fixation
Gareth a.k.a. Gemini Killer (David Dastmalchian): a serial killer with superiority issues
Lowell (Neil Patrick Harris): a tattoo-obsessed killer with a new victim in sight

The TV Insider report added that Dexter Morgan (Michael C Hall) is invited to one of Leon Prater's dinner parties under his Red alter ego. Listening to the conversation, he finds himself both disgusted and intrigued by the twisted social gathering. The tension only soars when he reportedly reunites with Mia for some catharsis and later targets Lowell: adding him to his own kill list.
Meanwhile, Prater and his enigmatic assistant Charley, played by Uma Thurman, observe from the sidelines, curating chaos like art collectors.

Peter Dinklage on joining Dexter: Resurrection
Peter Dinklage, according to Dexter Daily, was excited to join the show. Speaking about his entry, he said that Dexter: Resurrection is a 'known zeitgeist' of a show. He added that an actor needs nothing more in a show which is smartly written and has well-drawn characters.
Dinklage also spoke about having the added advantage of shooting in his hometown New York. He added that the writers and Michael C Hall have got the show down to 'such a beautiful (science)'.

Mahesh Babu's birthday to pass without SSMB29 teaser. Here's why!

As actor Mahesh Babu's birthday approaches on August 9, fans were expecting a special treat, perhaps a first look or motion poster from his much-awaited collaboration with director SS Rajamouli. But India Today has exclusively learned that the director has decided to skip the traditional birthday release, staying focused instead on building something far more ambitious.A source close to the production reveals, "There were internal discussions about putting out a title teaser or even a concept poster for Mahesh Babu's birthday. But Rajamouli was clear, he doesn't want to rush anything just for the sake of the date. He believes the scale of this film demands a different kind of reveal."advertisementThe decision may come as a surprise in an industry where the birthdays of stars are often used as prime marketing strategy— complete with teaser drops, title reveals, and fan engagement. However, Rajamouli appears to be going a different route with this project, which is tentatively titled 'SSMB29'. The source further adds, "This isn't your typical mass film where you can release a first-look poster with fiery eyes and a punchline. Rajamouli is working on an international-level action adventure, and every asset has to be timed globally. He's not thinking just of fans in Telugu states, he's thinking of audiences across continents."The film, which reportedly involves exotic global locations, high-stakes action, and a rugged reimagining of Mahesh Babu's on-screen persona, is still deep in pre-production. With international stunt teams, Oscar-winning technicians, and heavy VFX involvement, the makers are in no hurry to jump the insider tells India Today, "Mahesh's look has gone through multiple changes. The team is working on extensive test shoots, costume trials, and stunt choreography. They want the first glimpse to be talked about worldwide — not just trend on social media for a day."While fans might be disappointed about the lack of a birthday release, the source assures that what's coming will be worth the wait. "Rajamouli has something massive planned for the reveal — but on his own timeline. And when he finally shows the world what Mahesh is doing in this film, it's going to be unlike anything Indian cinema has seen," the source adds.'SSMB29', featuring Mahesh Babu and Priyanka Chopra is slated to release in 2027.- EndsMust Watch
