Andhra Pradesh partners with CreativeLand Asia to set up country's first Transmedia Entertainment City in State

The Government of Andhra Pradesh has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with CreativeLand Asia (CLA) to conceptualise and operationalise 'Creatorland', India's first Transmedia Entertainment City in the State.
Creatorland will have immersive theme parks, gaming zones, global cinema co-production zones and it will also help drive job creation, skill development, tourism and digital innovation.
A statement on Saturday (May 3, 2025) said this partnership was announced at the WAVES summit being held in Mumbai from May 1 to 4, 2025, inaugurated by Prime Minister Narender Modi. The MoU was signed in the presence of Andhra Pradesh Minister for Tourism and Culture Kandula Durgesh,CEO Tourism Amrapali Kata and founder of CreativeLand Studios Entertainment and Chairman of Creators Inc, London Sajan Raj Kurup.
It is expected that CreatorLand will attract investments between ₹8,000 – 10,000 crore over the next 5-6 years that will go towards the creation of a Virtual Studio Complex powered by AI-based real-time rendering and volumetric capture technologies, immersive theme parks, gaming zones, e-sports arenas, and global cinema co-production zones, CreatorLand Academy for skilling youth in VFX, AI, gaming, and immersive storytelling.
This hub will open up skilling and employment opportunities for youth from Andhra Pradesh and rest of the country across creative and tech domains - skilling10,000+ youth every year in AI, VFX, gaming and1,50,000+ new jobsacross entertainment, tech, tourism is envisaged with the opening of opportunities under this initiative.
Minister for Tourism and Culture Kandula Durgesh said partnering with CreativeLand Asia marks an exciting milestone in the efforts to open up the State for film and entertainment tourism. 'This MoU is more than an infrastructure project, it is a commitment to creating an enabling ecosystem for talent, innovation, and tourism,' he said, adding that CreatorLand will not only boost the entertainment economy but also transform visitor experiences through theme parks, immersive zones and global production hubs. 'Together, we aim to set new benchmarks in digital entertainment and connect with industry and consumers in more meaningful ways,' he said.
Mr. Kurup said from immersive experiences to AI-led storytelling, CreatorLand will blend technology with culture and global talent with Indian imagination. 'This is our collective step toward putting India on the global map of entertainment infrastructure and IP creation,' he said.
Ms. Amrapali said the project reflects the State's forward-looking commitment to promoting tourism through innovation. It offers a holistic vision where entertainment infrastructure, talent skilling and tourism come together to generate livelihoods, boost the local economy and elevate Andhra Pradesh's profile on the global creative map.'
Members of the CreativeLand Asia's global advisory board and CEO Artists International David Unger, founder of Studio Belong Andy Orrik, CEO Creators Inc. Jani Guest and Chairman of Tara Gaming Nicolas Granatino among others were present.

Rajamahendravaram: The foundation of the prestigious Akhanda Godavari Tourism Project aimed at showcasing the historical and cultural magnificence of Godavari region, will be formally held on June 19, announced by State Tourism, Culture, and Cinematography Minister Kandula Durgesh. The ground-breaking ceremony will be jointly performed by Deputy Chief Minister Konidela Pawan Kalyan and MP Daggubati Purandeswari, with the support of the Central government, he said. The Minister conducted a field visit on Saturday to oversee the arrangements for the upcoming event, inspecting key sites like Pushkar Ghat and theHavelock Bridge alongside district officials. He issued directions to ensure the smooth execution of the programme. Speaking on the occasion, Minister Durgesh said the project is being taken up with a sanction of Rs 97 crore under the SASCI 2024–25 (Special Assistance to States for Capital Investment) scheme. The works will span across Rajamahendravaram, Dowleswaram, Kadiyam, Kovvur, and Nidadavolu, aiming for completion before the 2027 Godavari Pushkaralu. He said that the project will significantly transform several locations in East Godavari district, adding new dimensions of beauty and improved tourist amenities. District Collector P Prasanthi stated that the 127-year-old Havelock Bridge, a heritage icon, will undergo beautification and modernisation. Proposed developments include waterfalls, glass bridges, a gaming zone, a space-themed park, an urban hot craft bazaar, hanging gardens, a hologram zoo, time travel experience zones, a rail museum, and an aquarium tunnel. These attractions are expected to position the location as a major tourism hotspot. The Pushkar Ghat will also be further developed, and both the ghat and the Havelock Bridge will be integrated into a single dynamic tourist destination, she added.
