Ent City in Amaravati will generate 20k jobs: Naidu
Vijayawada: Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Sunday said India's first Transmedia Entertainment City to be launched in Amaravati capital will create 25,000 jobs and attract Foreign Direct Investment (FDI). The Chief Minister posted on 'X' that the state government has inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Creative Land Asia (CLA). "Delighted to announce that GoAP has entered into a historic MoU with Creativeland Asia to launch Creatorland, India's first Transmedia Entertainment City, in the people's capital Amaravati," read his post. "With an aim to create 25,000 jobs, the project is set to attract FDI, bring large-scale development, and empower local talent to create in AP and create for the world," he added. Naidu stated that this world-class creative township will be a hub for film, gaming, music, virtual production, immersive storytelling and AI-driven content. With cutting-edge infrastructure, global partnerships, and a Creatorland Academy to skill our youth, AP is set to become a global destination for the creative and digital industries, Naidu added. The state government signed the MoU with CreativeLand Asia (CLA) to conceptualise and operationalise Creatorland. The MoU was signed during the WAVES summit held in Mumbai from May 1 to 4, 2025. The Creatorland is expected to feature global cinema co-production zones, immersive theme parks, gaming zones and a lot more. It is also expected to help drive job creation, skill development, tourism and digital innovation. The project is likely to attract investments between Rs 8,000 -10,000 crore over the next 5-6 years that will go towards the creation of a virtual studio complex powered by AI-based real-time rendering and volumetric capture technologies, immersive theme parks, gaming zones, e-sports arenas, and global cinema co-production zones, CreatorLand Academy for skilling youth in VFX, AI, gaming, and immersive storytelling. The MoU was signed in the presence of Andhra Pradesh Minister for Tourism and Culture Kandula Durgesh, CEO of State Tourism Amrapali Kata and founder of CreativeLand Studios Entertainment and Chairman of Creators Inc, London Sajan Raj Kurup.

AP govt inks deal for entertainment city
Amaravati: The Andhra Pradesh government signed a deal at the ongoing WAVES Summit in Mumbai to set up a Transmedia Entertainment City in the state. The project will include theme parks, gaming zones, and global cinema co-production zones, and aims to drive job creation, skill development, tourism, and digital innovation. Prime Minister Narendra Modi had inaugurated the World Audio Visual & Entertainment Summit (WAVES) in Mumbai, which is being held from May 1 to 4. The state signed the agreement with CreativeLand Asia for the Transmedia Entertainment City, to be called Creatorland. "Partnering with CreativeLand Asia marks an exciting milestone in our efforts to open up the state for film and entertainment tourism. This MoU (agreement) is more than an infrastructure project- it is a commitment to creating an enabling ecosystem for talent, innovation, and tourism," said State Tourism Minister K Durgesh. Creatorland is expected to attract investments of up to Rs 10,000 crore over the next six years. These funds will be directed towards the creation of a virtual studio complex powered by artificial intelligence (AI) and other futuristic technologies. The entertainment hub is also expected to generate skilling and employment opportunities for young people from Andhra Pradesh and the rest of the country, across creative and tech domains, among other initiatives.

According to a statement by the tourism dept, CLA is coordinating with over 20 studios across the world to make India their production hub. Creatorland is expected to attract investments of nearly Rs 10,000 crore in the next 5-6 years. Once the proposed project is operational, it is expected to open skilling and employment opportunities in creative and tech domains. The initiative is expected to create 1.5 lakh jobs besides upgrading the skills of 10,000 youth every year in AI, VFX, and gaming. Creatorland comes with a virtual studio complex powered by AI-based real-time rendering and volumetric capture technologies, immersive theme parks, gaming zones, e-sports arenas, global cinema co-production zones, and Creatorland Academy for skilling youth in VFX, AI, gaming, and immersive storytelling. Tourism minister Kandula Durgesh said partnering with CLA is a milestone in the govt's efforts to open up the state for film, entertainment, and tourism. "This MoU is more than an infrastructure project as it will create an enabling ecosystem for talent, innovation, and tourism," he said. Sajan Raj Kurup, founder and chairman of CLA, said from immersive experiences to AI-led storytelling, Creatorland will blend technology with culture and global talent with Indian imagination. "This is our collective step toward putting India on the global map of entertainment infrastructure and IP creation. This collaboration is a milestone in India's journey toward becoming a global content powerhouse," he said.
