Tributes to Brit, 41, who died after falling onto rocks in Majorca
Tributes have been paid to a British tourist who died after a late-night fall onto rocks near a beautiful white sand Majorcan beach.
Ben Clark, 41, was killed instantly after the 15ft plunge from a wall in the early hours of Friday morning.
Well-placed sources said his partner had also fallen from the same spot and been knocked unconscious before coming to and going to a nearby hotel to raise the alarm.
Friends of Ben, who described himself on Facebook as a self-employed carpenter from Andover, Hampshire, called him 'one of the good ones' and a 'great guy' as they spoke of their shock at learning the news, with one admitting he was 'completely gutted.'
Becky Paris said: 'Honestly I just spent the majority of the evening blabbering on about how 'it's the kind of thing you read about in the newspapers, but think well it wouldn't ever happen' as it wasn't real life.
'Today I am just absolutely heartbroken for you and your little family.
'No words that could make sense of it. You really were one of the good ones mate.'
Peter Fordham added: 'RIP Ben Clark. Devastating news and a sad loss.
'You will be massively missed. Condolences to all your friends and family.'
And Chris Jon Osman, responding to messages from one of Ben's daughters who had written in an online tribute: 'Love your forever dad', said: 'Couldn't be more gutted for you, love to all your family.
'His memory will live on through the many peoples' lives that he lit up.
'He was a great guy and a true legend.'
News of the tragedy first began to emerge mid-morning on Friday when police said firefighters had helped them recover the body of an unnamed British man.
A spokesman for the Civil Guard in Majorca said on Friday afternoon: 'We received an emergency alert just before 2am this morning, saying a man had fallen from a height of around 15 feet in a rocky area in Cala Agulla near to Capdepera and had possibly died.
'The Civil Guard's specialist Greim mountain and cave rescue unit was mobilised.
'The man's body was recovered just after 5am.
'A full report has yet to be drafted by the Greim unit and an autopsy will take place.
'But everything at this stage is pointing to the victim dying as a result of an accidental fall.'
Earlier, well-placed sources said the dead man had been with his partner, who survived before going to raise the alarm at the Club Cala Rajada Hotel.
An island newspaper has reported the fall happened in an area which is popular with tourists who visit the beauty spot to watch the stunning sunsets.
Tragic keep-fit fanatic Mr Clark, who is believed to have been father to a grown-up daughter aged around 20 as well as a younger child, had been joking with a friend on Facebook the day before losing his life.
The pal, commenting on the last photo he posted online from Majorca late on Thursday showing him looking redder than normal, said: 'Looking a bit serious Ben lol x', prompting Ben to respond: 'And burnt.'
When the friend asked: 'Where's your sun protection then LOL', he replied: 'In the hand luggage.'
Cala Agulla is a large, white sand beach surrounded by beautiful, natural landscapes in the north-east of Majorca, a short drive from Capdepera.
It is surrounded by the wild beauty of sand dunes, pine trees, desert plants, and low lying rocky areas that form the Llevant Peninsula Natural Park.
Last month a British woman died after plunging from a scenic beauty spot in Majorca.
The 39-year-old was rushed to hospital critically injured following the drama but failed to overcome her injuries.
She fell about 60 feet from a lookout point in the Palma neighbourhood of es Jonquet overlooking the sea.
Local police and paramedics who responded to an emergency call stabilised her at the scene before putting a 'Green Alert' in place to make sure she got to hospital as quickly as possible by clearing traffic for the ambulance transporting her.
Police confirmed after the May 19 tragedy they were not looking for anyone else in connection with what happened and the woman's death was not being treated as a crime.

Nuked Blood: Met Police 'cop-out' on radiation crimes against troops
The Met has batted away pleas to investigate the Ministry of Defence over allegations of a criminal cover-up of human radiation experiments Scotland Yard has been accused of "refusing to investigate" crimes by the state against British troops. Officers of the Metropolitan Police spent 50 days deliberating over 500 pages of evidence about an alleged official cover-up of human radiation experiments. Despite documents which appear to show people still at work in Westminster misled ministers, courts, and Parliament as recently as 2024, the Met decided it was "non-recent" and not in their jurisdiction. Jane O'Connor, who led the complaint when it was made on the eve of VE Day commemorations, said: "This is ridiculous. My father flew through the mushroom clouds, his blood tests were removed from his medical record, and we found them hidden at the Atomic Weapons Establishment under national security. The same probably happened to thousands of servicemen. That's a crime of national importance the Met should investigate, and it's certainly not historic." * You can support the veterans' fight for justice HERE Steve Purse, who has been unlawfully denied access to blood tests taken from his father during a series of toxic plutonium experiments in the Australian Outback in 1963, said: "They're forgetting the people who are the victims of these crimes. The Ministry of Defence is physically next door to Scotland Yard. It feels like they're refusing to look over the garden fence in case it upsets the neighbours." The Met has passed the complaint to Thames Valley Police, on the grounds that the AWE is in Berkshire. But Mayor of Greater Manchester Andy Burnham, who first called for a police investigation last year and supported the complaint, said: "There is a widely-held belief that the misconduct in public office is taking place literally yards from Scotland Yard. So it makes no sense whatsoever for this crucial case to be transferred to a smaller force many miles away." The Nuked Blood Scandal blew open three years ago with a 1958 memo between atomic scientists about "gross irregularity" in the blood tests of Jane's dad, Group Captain Terry Gledhill. It led to a database, codenamed Merlin, which was locked as a state secret. After parts of it were forced open, it was found to contain more than 30 separate orders for blood monitoring of troops of all three armed forces, and thousands of pages of blood tests, blood data, and official discussion. The MoD had previously denied to courts and Parliament that any such biological monitoring took place. The entire database is due to be declassified as a result of the Mirror's investigation, but ministers refuse to say how or why it was locked in the first place. John Morris, who despite a radiogenic blood disorder and cancer has been denied a war pension after his medical records were missing the results of blood tests and chest x-rays, said: "We're just numbers to them, not people. If that's not the Met's jurisdiction, I don't know what is. Perhaps they need a lawnmower to cut back all that long grass before they kick our case into it." London Mayor Sadiq Khan, who oversees policing for the capital, has been contacted by. MPs, voters and neighbous, all asking him to ensure the scandal is properly investigated. In 2021, Khan signed a letter by all metro mayors calling for "truth and justice for our nuclear test veterans". A spokesman for the Met said: "It was determined that allegations related to alleged offences against an organisation based in Berkshire. As a result, the investigation was transferred to Thames Valley Police in late June. We refute the claim that the Met has refused to investigate this. At this stage of this investigation, the report is sitting with the most appropriate force." A spokesman for Thames Valley Police said: "We have recently been made aware of alleged crimes related to historic nuclear tests. At this early stage, we are not in a position to provide further information." The Mirror's dossier of evidence has been passed to both forces.

I posed as illegal Channel migrant to rent a Just Eat account – minutes later I was delivering leaving customers SHOCKED
Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) A SUN reporter posing as an illegal Channel migrant rented a Just Eat courier account and made a delivery within minutes despite promises of a crackdown. Today, bosses of Deliveroo, Uber Eats and Just Eat will be hauled in by the Home Office. As part of his cover story, our reporter told the account 'dealer' — who operated on open Facebook forums under his real name — that he had no right to work in the UK as he had only just been processed by the Home Office. But the dealer, based in Guildford, Surrey, told us: 'It is no problem if you do your job, mate.' The account had been verified by Just Eat after background, criminal and passport checks on Danyel's Romanian documents. Our reporter was handed control of the account for £40 a week. Its earnings history revealed riders renting it earlier this year had made more than £250 in a week. He was given a shift dropping off orders on Wednesday night in nearby Addlestone, and delivered a Wimpy burger, chips and strawberry milkshake to Just Eat customer Rebekah. When we told her what was going on, Rebekah, who was looking after her mum, said: 'That makes me a bit nervous.' Two days later, he switched to Gravesend, Kent, and was immediately flooded with offers without being asked to verify his identity. Thousands of boat migrants working as delivery riders within hours of arriving while housed and fed by taxpayer, Sun probe reveals The dealer assured our man that, had he been asked, he would have logged in and verified himself before handing back control. Our reporter took a KFC Bargain Bucket to cement contractor Joe Stanton, 27, for his family. He told us: 'This shows how easy it is, and the fact that anyone could do it.' An Indian takeaway was dropped to Parminder Singh, 51, who works as a registered delivery driver. He told us: 'When you order through an app, you put your trust into that company. 'This does make me wary about who can turn up.' Furious Shadow Justice Secretary Robert Jenrick said: 'Firms like this are not just profiting from the small boat crisis, they're fuelling it.' Just Eat said: 'We'd like to thank The Sun for drawing this case to our attention. 'The account has been suspended while we conduct a thorough investigation.' Exec who ‘stole £1m before going on run and faking death in Majorca where she was exposed by giant poodle' faces court
The woman kept using her social media accounts, which aroused suspicion she had not in fact been killed in a road accident RUFF JUSTICE Exec who 'stole £1m before going on run and faking death in Majorca where she was exposed by giant poodle' faces court Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) A SUSPECTED German fraudster who faked her own death and was given away by her giant pet poodle will face court on Monday. Inna Z, 51, was arrested by police in Majorca after her company doubted the claim she had been killed in a car accident and tracked her down with detectives. The tax adviser was accused of defrauding around £900,000 from the German solar power firm she worked for. She was summoned to court in November 2020, but her sister reported she had been killed in a car crash of March that year. It said: "We regret to announce the sad passing of our founding partner in a traffic accident." A death certificate was provided, but her company in Rostock, north Germany, smelt a rat and hired private detectives to investigate. They discovered that her social media was still active, meaning Inna was either still alive or being impersonated. They also found out she owned a giant poodle. The pooch became the object of their search, and was spotted out for a walk in Santa Ponca, Majorca. Large poodles are not a common sight on the island, so the canine stuck out. It led the team to a swanky villa in the town - and the supposedly dead Inna. Horror in Majorca as at least five bodies with hands and feet shackled are plucked from water off Brit holiday island She had cut her hair and changed its colour to drastically alter her appearance. Inna admitted to staging her demise after false documents were found in the house. Appearing in court soon after her arrest, she said: "It was clear they were going to catch me, but I wanted some time." The prosecutor's office has estimated the total amount she defrauded sits at around £5million. This week she reached a plea deal where she will avoid jail if she repays £1.5million. Her sister Anna, who wrote the email to the court, will also avoid jail. It comes as a British dad died this week on the island when he fell off a wall onto rocks. Ben Clark, 41, died instantly when he plunged 15ft in the early hours of Friday morning. His daughter, Kaci Fraya, is believed to have been on the Spanish holiday to Cala Agulla on the island's northeast coast with her dad at the time of his death.
