General Hospital star Kate Mansi weds Matt McInnis in surprise ceremony

Daily Mail03-06-2025
General Hospital star Kate Mansi married producer Matt McInnis in downtown LA on Saturday following an 11-month engagement.
The 37-year-old bride and the 41-year-old groom surprised their 115 guests, who believed they were attending a long-delayed engagement party, with a full-blown wedding at cathedral-turned-restaurant Redbird.
'We wanted that eruption of joy, that moment where love just takes over the room,' Kate (born Katharine Morris) told People on Tuesday.
'The element of discovery was everything. The relief when the secret was out was unforgettable.'
Mansi and McInnis even donned 'decoy' ensembles before she changing into her 'dream' Newhite wedding dress from LOHO Bride, and he changed into a custom suit from Malibu Clothes.
Ark actor Thomas Dekker officiated the couple's nuptials which were also attended by Fluxx actress Shelley Hennig, Home Improvement alum Jonathan Taylor Thomas, Wonder Years alum Alley Mills, and The Rookie's Britt Robertson.
It was Hennig who originally brought Kate and Matt together since they met at her birthday party 'a few years ago' before going Instagram official in 2023.
During the vows, Mansi revealed: 'We put a hand on our own hearts and said, "I got you," then did the same to each other. We invited our community to join us in that vow — to support us and each other.'
The Daytime Emmy winner added of their 'deeply personal' ceremony: 'The entire evening was meant to mirror our relationship - unexpected, full of humor, moving to its own rhythm, and rooted in deep connection.'
The Toronto-born Canadian stated that he's 'never met a braver human being than Katie.'
'She inspires me. She makes everyone around her better by nurturing qualities in them which even they may not see at first,' McInnis gushed.
'Her ability to love with her whole heart and wide eyes is the greatest gift a person could ever receive.'
The formerly long-distance pair added: 'Marriage to us is building [life] brick by brick with a partner who's truly all in.'
Kate and Matt are already proud parents to 20-month-old Doodle siblings, Stanley and Georgie, whom they adopted in November 2023.
McInnis is headed for London soon to begin producing a new project with Amazon MGM Studios.
Mansi is the fourth actress to portray Kristina Davis in ABC soap opera General Hospital, who's the troubled daughter of mob boss Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) and attorney Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn).
The SoCal native previously played Abigail Deveraux in NBC soap opera Days of Our Lives from 2011-2016.

Child star is unrecognizable on rare outing after bizarre plea to clone Robin Williams using AI

Fans of Mrs. Doubtfire got a surprise treat when one of its beloved child stars was spotted out and about in Los Angeles on Tuesday. Now 45, the actor, who played pre-teen Chris alongside Robin Williams in the 1993 classic, appeared in good spirits as he ran errands around town. Dressed casually in a white T-shirt, gray pants, and flip-flops, he carried multiple grocery bags as he went about his day. Sporting a newsy cap and glasses, he looked a far cry from his role as college roommate Jack in the cult sitcom Boy Meets World. This rare outing comes after the star—whose older brother had roles in Gimme a Break! and Blossom— expressed interest in seeing the late Robin Williams brought back via AI for a future project. Can you guess who this former child star is? If you said Matthew Lawrence, you're right! Lawrence's recent outing comes shortly after he shared his hopes to honor Williams, who tragically died by suicide in 2014 at age 63, in a modern way. 'I would love — now, obviously, with the respect and with the okay from his family — but I would love to do something really special with his voice because I know for a generation, that voice is just so iconic,' Lawrence told Entertainment Weekly in July. Lawrence was just 12 years old when he starred alongside Williams in Mrs. Doubtfire, the beloved film about a devoted father who disguises himself as a Scottish nanny to stay close to his children after a divorce. The memories of working with Williams have stayed with him ever since. 'It's not just the fact that I knew him and worked with him and so it's in my head — it's in everybody's head. And it would be so cool,' he said of the idea to use AI to bring Williams' voice back. The idea sparked after Lawrence watched an old commercial featuring Williams using a computerized voiceover, which struck him as eerily ahead of its time. 'It's kinda like this very contemporary, modern, almost sort of foreshadowing of what's going on commercial that he did, where he did this computerized voiceover, and it always stuck with me,' Lawrence explained. Lawrence was about 12 when the comedy about a divorced dad disguising himself as a nanny to be close to his kids was released, and the memories of the experience remain close to the actor's heart; (Lawrence far left, with Lisa Jakub, Williams, Mara Wilson and Sally Field) 'And then, during his passing, with the AI coming out, I'm like, 'Man, he's gotta be the voice of A.I. He's gotta be the voice in something.' So yeah, I would love to do that.' In an earlier conversation with the publication, Lawrence reflected on the valuable life lessons, especially compassion, that he gained from working with Williams on the set of Mrs. Doubtfire. 'He really quantified what it was to be a real artist for me in the sense that he was definitely... the most brilliant artist I've ever worked with.' 'But on top of that, he had the compassion, he had the humility, and he also had these things that he struggled with.' In 2023, Zelda Williams publicly opposed the use of artificial intelligence to replicate her late father's voice. 'I am not an impartial voice in SAG's fight against AI. I've witnessed for YEARS how many people want to train these models to create/re-create actors who cannot consent, like Dad,' she wrote on Instagram. Zelda continued: 'This isn't theoretical, it is very very real. I've already heard AI used to get his "voice" to say whatever people want and while I find it personally disturbing, the ramifications go far beyond my own feelings.'

Call Her Daddy's Alex Cooper dated sugar daddies for cash before making millions on her podcast

Call Her Daddy co-creator Alex Cooper is currently the highest-earning female podcaster, having signed a $125M three-year contract with Sirius XM last year, but her financial situation was far more dire just eight years ago. The sex-positive podcaster - turning 31 next week - used to rely on the cash she acquired through dates with sugar daddies she met on SeekingArrangement (rebranded as in 2022) to pay the rent on her New York City apartment. Alex - who had recently graduated from Boston University - was surviving on unemployment checks after being laid off from her ad-sales job at Gotham magazine when she turned to wealthy benefactors. 'The goal was I never wanted to do anything with these men,' Cooper explained on her podcast in 2020. 'It was just to go get drinks and dinner, and by the end of the night have enough money for rent.' The Unwell founder would enlist a friend to sit in the back of the bar to make sure she was okay: 'We did crazy fun s*** like that, though in retrospect, I want everyone to be careful. I don't even know if you should be on that site.' And yes, of course, the caliber I was doing it, people maybe think of that as aspirational. But we all go through our s***. But you're going to be able to figure it out.' But Cooper left all the toxic situationships behind in 2020 when she began dating 'Mr. Sexy Zoom Man' aka XO, Kitty producer Matthew Kaplan, whom she wed 16 months ago. Last summer, the Call Her Alex star proudly bought her parents a house near their $10.7M Studio City home, so they could have weekly dinners. Alex had been emotionally scarred in 2004 when her father Bryan Cooper lost his job due to an NHL labor lockout, telling Vogue on Tuesday: 'I remember he was posting flyers around the neighborhood to help repair computers.' Cooper's mother Laurie Cooper is a psychologist, but her practice 'wasn't enough to sustain a five-person household' at the time. 'I understood money came with an opportunity to care for people around you,' the Pennsylvania-born blonde noted. Alex - who's ranked No. 5 on Forbes Top-Earning Creators list - previously earned over $1.5M during her three-year deal with Barstool Sports in 2018 as well as a $60M three-year deal with Spotify in 2021. 'I think almost every person that's ever walked out after an interview has been like, "I have never been more comfortable in an interview in my entire career,"' the self-taught presenter explained. 'And that comes with not trying to come off as this hard-a** interviewer.'
