Northern has offered football fans in North Yorkshire discounted travel after their club was forced to find a new home ground for the season.
Scarborough Athletic FC reached the agreement with the rail operator after being forced to play home games away from its usual ground due to subsidence issues.
The club has temporarily relocated home fixtures to Bridlington Town's ground, 17 miles away.
Kerry Peters, regional director for Northern in Yorkshire, said: "We know just how important this football club is to the local community so when they approached us and explained the situation, we were happy to help.
"We're now encouraging supporters to take advantage of this offer, so they can save money when they travel to see their side play this season."
The National League North side approached Northern and other transport providers to explore the possibility of discounted travel to help fans reach the temporary venue.
In response, Northern is offering a 25 per cent off Advanced Purchase tickets for supporters travelling to games.
Codes for discounted tickets can be requested by Scarborough Athletic members and season pass holders through the club.
Trevor Bull, chairman at Scarborough Athletic, said: "It has been a really difficult summer since we got the news that we would be unable to use our ground this season.
He added: "We are really grateful to Northern for helping make travel more accessible for our fans."
Fans seeking a discount code should contact the club's marketing and commercial manager, Rhiannon Hunt, by emailing rhiannon.hunt@scarboroughathletic.com.

Aussie traveller stunned by curious road markings during incredible 15,000km journey

When it comes to Australia, and its vast stretches of remote roads, there are few things Simon Harvey hasn't seen. But the solo traveller was treated to a rare moment of surprise this week as he slowly makes his way around the continent. While walking along a remote road in the Northern Territory, he happened upon a number of white lines painted horizontally across the road. It was bookended by reinforced fencing and complete with hazard road signage. It shared all the attributes of a cattle grid, but instead of the rounded metal poles and the empty space beneath, it was just some paint on the ground. "I'm just curious as to why that would be... Maybe they're trying to trick the cattle," he mused in a video to his more than 76,000 followers. "Believe it or not they actually work. Even horses won't cross them," one commenter replied. "They were using them in the Kimberly's for years — then the cattle woke up to it and now they have to put proper grids in," another claimed. Despite mixed reports from some large property owners, the so-called virtual grids have had some success as a cost-effective way to deter cattle from crossing roads they shouldn't, with the ABC once reporting that NT livestock proved to be outsmarted by the paint job. "It turns out [cattle] are conditioned not to cross them—even though the 'cattle grid' you can see here is really just a bunch of white lines painted on the road," Queensland's Department of Transport and Main Roads also previously claimed. However, some farmers reportedly say their cattle have actually wised up to the deception. Road markings, mystery dildos and distressed sheep Whether it always works or not, the virtual cattle grid was just an interesting side note in the midst of Simon's mammoth journey. When he came across it on Sunday, he had already walked thousands of kilometres after setting off from Brisbane two years ago on an incredible walking lap of the country. "I walked from Brisbane to Melbourne," he told Yahoo News — a feat he accomplished for the second time. "I've crossed the continent from east to west across the Nullarbor. So from Melbourne, Adelaide, Nullarbor, 90 Mile Straight into Perth, up the West Coast, across the Pilbara. [On to] Carnarvon, Port Headland, Broome, coming across the Pilbara was before Christmas — 45 degree days!" After eventually hitting Darwin and heading down to a place called Barkly Homestead in the remote Northern Territory, he'll cross into Queensland in the coming days as he enters the final stage of his epic journey. So at this point, he's seen just about everything. "When I crossed the Nullabor there was a dildo just sitting on the side of the road — that confused and perplexed me for a while," he joked. "There's all kinds of little random mysteries like that. "There was one time I saved a sheep's life. Its head was stuck in a fence, and I spent about half an hour trying to get it out." Almost all of this he documents for his followers on social media, where the former corporate man and father of three takes on the persona of Captain Australia, a humble hero out to promote kindness and hope. "It's about transforming a sorrow into something meaningful and constructive," he explained to Yahoo. 'I had a chance at a chance' The catalyst, or sorrow, was losing his travel insurance business during the pandemic and being diagnosed with stage four cancer, with doctors telling him he had six months to live. His youngest son was three years old at the time. Australia records highest rates of 'aggressive' cancer: 'We don't know why' Cyclists' discovery in forest highlights growing Aussie issue Are chemicals to blame for cancer in young people? "I had a long shot chance of treatment... I had a chance at a chance, and I went through the treatment, and it actually obliterated the cancer," he said. He now walks to raise money for The Kids' Cancer Project and hopes to raise a million dollars to help fund research to put an end to childhood cancer with his lap around the continent. So far, on this journey, he has raised $117,572. Captain Australia walks with Starlink dish and 'magic trolley' While he mostly camps alone, he has allowed himself to accept the kindness and hospitality of strangers along the way. Otherwise, the only accompaniment he has is his "magic trolley" which includes some impressive solar technology and a Starlink satellite internet dish to ensure he can always let people follow along online. "It's like a box with two wheels on either side, built around the principle of a rickshaw... It's usually full of about 120 kilos worth of gear, mostly water," he said. "I have faced stretches of around 400 kilometres with no water certainty." It's just one of the many challenges on the 15,000km journey. "There's quite profound isolation and even boredom, because you're pushing through these continual stretches of country that just repeat, and repeat, and repeat," he said. "It's a bit of a war with yourself." But it's a war he says he's managed to stay "viable" in. He might even be winning. If you would like to donate, you can do so here. Do you have a story tip? 49ers Fans Fired Up Over Christian McCaffrey's New Post

Christian McCaffrey had a forgettable season with the San Francisco 49ers last year. McCaffrey's run ended, however, after just four games, because the three-time Pro Bowler suffered a season-ending PCL 29-year-old has since been putting in a lot of work behind the scenes ahead of what he's hoping will be a bounce-back year in 2025. McCaffrey was heartbroken after his season came to an abrupt and unfortunate end last term, and the fans shared the exact same sentiment as well. This is exactly why there's a lot of excitement surrounding his return in 2025. McCaffrey, who saw the birth of his first child with his wife Olivia Culpo during the offseason, did not suit up for San Francisco's preseason opener when they suffered a 30-9 loss to the Denver Broncos on August 9. He was, however, a 'full-go' at training camp, and head coach Kyle Shanahan expects McCaffrey to be ready for their Week 1 matchup against the Seattle long as he is able to remain healthy, 2025 could be a big year for story was originally reported by Athlon Sports on Aug 18, 2025, where it first appeared in the NFL section.
