Justin Jefferson has a mild hamstring strain that will keep him out of practice
The Vikings sent him for an MRI.
Coach Kevin O'Connell announced Friday that imaging on Jefferson's left hamstring revealed a mild strain. The team will hold the receiver out of practice a few days, with re-evaluation next week.
While there is no firm timetable for Jefferson's return, O'Connell made clear that Jefferson's availability for Week 1 is not in doubt.
Jefferson injured his right hamstring in 2023 and missed seven games.
The four-time Pro Bowler made 103 receptions for 1,533 yards and 10 touchdowns last season in earning All-Pro for a second time in his five seasons.

This legendary Panthers WR visited practice at Chiefs Training Camp on Sunday
The Kansas City Chiefs were visited by legendary Carolina Panthers wide receiver and current NFL Network analyst Steve Smith Sr. during a training camp practice session on Sunday, July 27. As the reigning AFC champions, Kansas City's players will face high expectations from fans and the media this season, a dynamic that was all too familiar for Smith during his outstanding 13-year tenure with the Panthers. Take a look at this picture of Smith walking to the field at Missouri Western State University with a member of the Chiefs' staff, which was posted to Twitter by Matt Foster of KSHB 41. A five-time Pro Bowler, Smith racked up 14,731 yards on 1031 catches for 81 receiving touchdowns through 16 regular-season campaigns. Though NFL Network hasn't yet featured videos of Smith's appearance at Chiefs Training Camp on its social media accounts, his insightful analysis of Kansas City's workouts should prove to be valuable for fans who haven't been able to see the team practice in St. Joseph firsthand.

Dolphins agree to reported reworked deal with Minkah Fitzpatrick
Recently-acquired Miami safety Minkah Fitzpatrick secured a revised contract from the Dolphins. A day after reports surfaced that Fitzpatrick had enlisted the services of popular agent Drew Rosenhaus, the 28-year-old safety agreed to a revised contract with Miami that adds a $16.2 million signing bonus to his deal according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. Fitzpatrick previously had no guaranteed money left on what is currently a two-year contract. Per Schefter, no additional years were added to his deal, but that appears to be an ongoing discussion between Fitzpatrick's camp and the Dolphins. "We are comfortable with this commitment to Minkah as we continue to work with the Dolphins on a multi year extension," Rosenhaus told Schefter and ESPN. Rosenhaus also represents Miami defensive tackle Zach Sieler, who is likewise seeking a new deal. The popular agent also represented former Dolphins tight end Jonnu Smith. According to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero, the revised contract moves up $2 million to Fitzpatrick this year, who is now due $17.5 million in 2025 and $15.6 million in 2026. It's a move that clears about $11 million in cap space for the Dolphins. Fitzpatrick is a three-time first-team All-Pro and a five-time Pro Bowler. In 2022, Fitzpatrick led the NFL in interceptions with six. During the 2019-22 seasons in Pittsburgh, Fitzpatrick registered 17 interceptions, 38 passes defended and 356 tackles. In 27 starts across the past two seasons, Fitzpatrick has recorded just the lone interception and seven passes defended. But, there is hope that Fitzpatrick can return in Miami to the form that saw him morph into the league's top safety during his time in Pittsburgh. League executives, coaches and scouts are still bullish on Fitzpatrick and indicated as much in an anonymous survey that ranked the NFL's top safeties this offseason.

Aaron Judge officially on IL as Yankees activate Amed Rosario after trade
Aaron Judge is officially on the shelf. The Yankees placed the two-time AL MVP on the 10-day injured list Sunday, a day after he was diagnosed with a right flexor strain. Advertisement Judge's spot on the active roster was filled before Sunday's finale against the Phillies by utilityman Amed Rosario, whom the Yankees acquired in a trade with the Nationals on Saturday night. The ex-Met plays both the infield and outfield, giving the Yankees some insurance beyond their new starting outfield of Cody Bellinger, Trent Grisham and Jasson Domínguez. There had been cries from the fan base for top prospect Spencer Jones to be called up to replace Judge, but the red-hot center fielder missed Friday and Saturday's games at Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre with back spasms. The Yankees officially placed Aaron Judge on the injured list on Sunday. JASON SZENES/ NY POST Advertisement He is also not yet on the 40-man roster, and with the Yankees expected to make more trades in the coming days ahead of Thursday's deadline, they need to keep some flexibility with opening spots on the 40-man. CHECK OUT THE LATEST MLB STANDINGS AND YANKEES STATS Everson Pereira and Bryan De La Cruz are the two Triple-A outfielders that are on the 40-man roster. The Yankees could have opted to bring one of them up in addition to activating Rosario, but doing so would have meant designating Oswald Peraza for assignment. That may still happen in the coming days or weeks, but for now, the Yankees are keeping their depth. Advertisement The Yankees activated Amed Rosario Sunday after they acquired him in a trade with the Nationals. Rafael Suanes-Imagn Images As for Judge, the Yankees are hoping that they have dodged a bullet by Saturday's MRI revealing the elbow flexor strain and not any UCL damage. They believe he could come off the IL after a minimum stay and then strictly DH upon his return before beginning to ramp up his throwing. The Yankees on Sunday also called up lefty Brent Headrick as a fresh arm for a battered bullpen after optioning Allan Winans on Saturday night.
