Jeremy Corbyn to host 'Gaza tribunal' after Labour block inquiry bill
In March, Corbyn first made the call for an inquiry to be established in a letter to Prime Minister Keir Starmer.
Jeremy Corbyn MP He then presented the Gaza (Independent Public Inquiry) Bill to Parliament on June 4, which passed its first reading.
However, during the second reading on July 4, the UK Government objected to the bill, therefore blocking any further progress.

The inquiry bill was backed by more than 50 MPs – including all nine SNP MPs and several Labour MPs – as well as 22 human rights organisations.
The tribunal will take place over two days in September and will hear from a range of witnesses, international law experts, lawyers and whistle-blowers.
The tribunal will look at four different areas:
What has happened in Gaza?: Survivors and witnesses will be invited to outline the scale of human suffering, devastation and destruction in Gaza What are Britain's legal responsibilities?: Legal experts will be invited to outline the duties and obligations as set out in domestic and international law What has Britain's role been in the genocide?: The tribunal will establish Britain's involvement in Israeli military operations in Gaza, including - but not limited to - the supply of weapons, surveillance aircraft and the use of RAF bases Has Britain lived up to its legal obligations?: The final section of the tribunal will analyse the evidence presented to conclude whether Britain has fulfilled its legal obligations as set out in domestic and international law
Commenting, Corbyn said: 'Just like Iraq, Government ministers are doing everything they can to hide the truth. Just like Iraq, they will not succeed.
'They cannot stop the inevitable: a full and independent inquiry.
'We will uncover the full scale of British complicity in genocide – and we will bring about justice for the people of Palestine.'

The two leaders have built a rapport on the world stage despite their differing political backgrounds, with Mr Trump praising Sir Keir for doing a 'very good job' in office ahead of their talks on Monday. But humanitarian conditions in Gaza and uncertainty over US import taxes on key British goods in America threaten to complicate their bilateral meeting. In his talks with Mr Trump, Sir Keir will 'welcome the President's administration working with partners in Qatar and Egypt to bring about a ceasefire in Gaza', Number 10 said. 'He will discuss further with him what more can be done to secure the ceasefire urgently, bring an end to the unspeakable suffering and starvation in Gaza and free the hostages who have been held so cruelly for so long.' The leaders will also talk 'one-on-one about advancing implementation of the landmark Economic Prosperity Deal so that Brits and Americans can benefit from boosted trade links between their two countries', it said. Speaking to Sky News on Monday, business secretary Jonathan Reynolds could not say whether the RAF would be directly involved in plans to airdrop aid into Gaza but warned that the delivery of aid 'cannot wait'. 'We know the only way to get sufficient quantities of aid into Gaza is for that blockade to end, for those vehicles to get on the ground. The point about the air drops is that we cannot wait. We've got to do something. It's an unconscionable situation. 'We can all see the lapse in humanity on display, and we've got to do things to do that.' He added: 'I don't know about the operational implementation, but on the air drops, as a country, we're always standing by.'

Sir Keir Starmer is expected to press Donald Trump on the revival of ceasefire talks between Israel and Hamas as the UK joins efforts to airdrop aid into Gaza.
