Dave Myers' widow says he would have 'wanted me to live my life'
Hairy Biker star Dave Myers' widow Liliana Orzac has spoken out about how she is honouring her late husband, who died last year, in a heartbreaking new interview
Dave Myers' widow has shared the poignant way she is "honouring" her late husband, following his heartbreaking death last year.
Liliana Orzac tied the knot with Dave in 2011 after they met while he was filming the first series of The Hairy Bikers in Romania. He subsequently became a stepfather to Liliana's two children from a previous relationship.
On Tuesday (17 June), Liliana featured in a pre-recorded interview on BBC's The One Show, where she discussed her husband's passing and the book she is publishing about their love story.
She disclosed her plans to get her motorbike license, something Dave had always wanted her to do, but she never felt the need to while he was alive.
"Dave wanted me to take my biking license, but I never wanted to be separated from him, to have my own bike," she openly admitted. "I didn't need a license. I had Dave."
"Dave would have wanted me to live my life. And I want to honour that. And these adventures that I'm going to have, are for him as well," Liliana added.
She will participate in the second Dave Day, which initially took place in June 2024. The day saw thousands of bikers journey from London to Dave's home town of Barrow-in-Furness to pay tribute to the late star.
Liliana organised this special event, which raised funds for NSPCC, reports Wales Online.
Dave Day is set to take the UK by storm again this year, scheduled for Saturday, 21 June, and Sunday, 22 June, with its motorbike ride from London to Barrow, followed by a concert and various activities all in aid of NSPCC Childline and CancerCare NW.
In an emotional interview, Liliana reflected on penning 'My Life With and Without My Hairy Biker', aiming to share what a "wonderful person" her late husband was.
"My heart was broken and this book was a way of me putting my heart back together, piece by piece. By telling the world what a wonderful person he was," she expressed.
Liliana further commented: "As long as I talk about him, as long as people still talk about him, as long as he is remembered, he is still alive."

Strictly bosses want British Olympian to be 'perfect tonic to show's toxic past'
BBC's Strictly Come Dancing are reportedly hoping to sign on an iconic British Olympian for the next series of the competition Iconic Olympian Sir Mo Farah is reportedly in talks to join BBC series Strictly Come Dancing in a 'bid to restore the show following scandals'. The dancing competition went through a series of scandals, with Amanda Abbington accusing professional dancer partner Giovanni Pernice of bullying in 2023. He was caught up in a scandal following his 2023 stint with actress Amanda Abbington, who made a series of claims about bullying behaviour. Giovanni decided to take a break from the public eye following the scandal. However, he recently won the Italian version of Strictly and has returned to the UK for a series of dance projects. Around the same time, Graziano Di Prima was axed from the show. But reports emerged over the summer claiming that the Italian dancer had kicked and hit Zara, 27, which he strongly denies. He later admitted that his "intense passion and determination to win might have affected my training regime." Most recently, Wynne Evans was axed from the Strictly live tour over his behaviour. Wynne appeared on This Morning recently to speak about his series of scandals while on the BBC show - and revealed that the negative attention had taken a severe toll on his mental health. "It took me into the darkest spot of my life. When the headlines keep coming and coming and coming, when something gets picked up and it just doesn't stop," he said. "I was at my lowest ebb, I wanted to end my life. I would have if I hadn't been surrounded by people. "At one point, one the newspapers was so relentless, I remember saying to my girlfriend, 'I have to kill myself. I have to because this is what they want,'" he said, breaking down in tears. "You're full of these thoughts the entire time and it takes over your life," he said to the hosts. And now, it has been reported that Strictly Come Dancing are hoping to get Sir Mo Farah onto the show as he's a "genuine national treasure". A source claimed to The Sun: 'His personality would provide the perfect tonic to the toxicity that's overshadowed Strictly. Bosses would love to sign him up but the talks are at a very early stage.'
