Sally and Tim break big news about Lou to shocked Brody in Coronation Street
Her husband Mick (Joe Layton) recently tried to escape from jail himself, where he's awaiting trial for killing PC Craig Tinker (Colson Smith). His plan was to gather his kids and Lou together and they would flee abroad as a family and go on the run.
This didn't work out, with the result that Mick is back behind bars and Lou was deemed to be a flight risk and has also been remanded in custody.
Meanwhile, Sally and Tim Metcalfe (Sally Dynevor and Joe Duttine) have been taking care of the Michaelis's two daughters Shanice (Molly Kilduff) and Joanie (Savanna Pennington). They've offered to have Brody (Ryan Mulvey) stay with them, too, but initially he preferred to sleep in his own house, determined to prove his independence.
In upcoming episodes Sally takes Shanice and Joanie to visit Lou in prison, but Brody refuses to go. During the visit Lou tells Sally she's planning to plead not guilty, and will need money to cover her legal fees for her defence. She asks Sally to help her out by taking out a bank loan.
Whether Sally would have been prepared to do this or not, it's not long before she gets a phone call at home from social services. Lou has, in fact, pleaded guilty.
Sally and Tim break the news to Brody that, having pleaded guilty, Lou is looking at a long prison sentence. Her dearest wish is for her son to come and visit her. Will he do as she asks?
Brody has had a lot to deal with over the past few months. Not long out of a secure training centre himself, he was quickly in trouble for various petty crimes as soon as he arrived back in Weatherfield. More Trending
Then his world was rocked when he found out that Mick wasn't his biological father, and his dad was really police officer Kit Green (Jacob Roberts). When Mick broke out of prison he ended up stabbing Kit and leaving him seriously wounded.

Now Brody faces the parents who brought him up both being in prison, while he tries to decide if he wants a relationship with the man he's found out is his real dad.

Lindsay and Craig Foreman, from East Sussex, were detained in January after crossing from Armenia during their global motorcycle tour. Their son Joe Bennett, of Folkestone, in Kent, revealed he had an eight-minute call with his mother – after not having confirmation if she was even alive. He told the BBC: 'We laughed, we cried, and for a few brief moments, it felt like the weight of the past seven months lifted.' The update on their plight comes as the Iranian regime executed as many as 29 prisoners in just four days, including one woman. The Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office advises British and British-Iranian nationals, who are at significant risk of detention, not to travel to the Middle Eastern country. A spokesperson said: 'We are deeply concerned by reports that two British nationals have been charged with espionage in Iran. 'We continue to raise this case directly with the Iranian authorities. 'We are providing them with consular assistance and remain in close contact with their family members.' Iran hangs 29 prisoners in 4 days - who are they? Iran's official news agency reported on Wednesday, August 6, the executions of Roozbeh Vadi, 40; Mehdi Asgharzadeh, 35; Ali Rajaei, 33; Reza Sharifzadeh, 35; and Mojtaba Izadi, 35. The last three were executed in Isfahan. Tuesday, August 5, saw the executions of five prisoners: Ali Showkat, 34, in Saveh; Ali Hosseinpour, 35, and Mohammad Abakhti in Karaj; Farzad Yari in Malayer; and Jahanshah Iravani in Semnan. On Monday, August 4, eight prisoners were hanged: Mohammad Golestani, 30; Bahman Pirouzaei, 30; Davoud Najibollahi, 40; and Reza Sarparast, 30, in Mashhad; Matin Shahbazzadeh, 24; Hessam Moloudi, 29; and Enayat Semsari, 36, in Tabriz; and Hamid Soroush in Nur. ‘We lost £250,000 minutes into new ITV show – but we can't complain'
Warning: spoilers ahead for the first episode of The Fortune Hotel series 2. It's never ideal being the first contestants to be eliminated on a primetime gameshow. However, that's the reality that friends and cleaning business partners Chelsey and Briony faced when they embarked on the adventure of competing in ITV's The Fortune Hotel series 2. The second season of the show, which is hosted by Stephen Mangan, launched tonight, with 11 pairs making their way to a hotel in the Caribbean with the aim of checking in and getting their hands on a briefcase containing a £250,000 fortune. Sadly, Chelsey and Briony were eliminated before they even had the chance to enter the hotel, as other players were quicker to figure out a cryptic crossword that informed them where they needed to go. Thankfully, they're still in good spirits about the experience. 'It weren't all bad. We can't really complain. We had an all-inclusive holiday in an absolutely stunning place that not many people would see with your best friend. We got to do things on the island,' Chelsey, who was 34 at the time of filming, tells Metro. 'It was surreal, once in a lifetime.' Then we went visiting waterfalls, and the sea… The experience looking back on it was fantastic.' At the start of episode one, the competing pairs have to fill out a crossword that, when solved, tells them that they need to head to the reception desk of the hotel. The first batch of couples who reach the correct answer and get to the hotel are safe to scheme another day – but the others are all at risk of being eliminated right away. They each choose a briefcase to open, one of which contains the devastating 'early checkout card'. Briony and Chelsey decided to select briefcase number two, as it's both their favourite number. Unfortunately, they had selected the poisoned chalice. 'Unfortunately, our lucky number just wasn't lucky,' Briony quips. Even though the friends were in the show for a very short amount of time, they still left a big impression with their energetic personalities, racing towards Stephen on the beach after they arrived by boat. Host Stephen Mangan gives Metro the lowdown on what to expect in The Fortune Hotel series two… which he promises will have even more shocks than before. 'It was exciting the first time around because it was a show that had never been done before,' Stephen tells us about the first series. 'Sometimes these shows are formats that they've tried in other countries and have been a hit, so they know how they work. But we were inventing a brand new game, which is exciting and terrifying at the same time.' So what's in store for the second outing? 'More surprises, more challenges, more epic things happening,' he promises. The host adds that if he were a player on the game, he'd be more 'ruthless' than fans might expect. Just like many other viewers, she watched the show assuming that it was a pretty straightforward game set in an idyllic paradise – but getting to grips with the show firsthand made both of the women realise how much harder it actually is. EastEnders' Patrick terrified with anxiety as he's released from hospital
EastEnders icon traumatised following shocking attack in his own home. EastEnders legend Patrick Trueman is left visibly shaken and deeply traumatised this week as he returns home from hospital following a brutal and unexpected attack that has left him riddled with anxiety. Patrick, played by the legendary Rudolph Walker, is clearly traumatised after being attacked in his own home. The once-cheerful, confident cornerstone of Albert Square now struggles to feel safe in the place he's always called home. It all starts when Patrick and Howie place a risky bet behind Yolande's back. The gamble pays off, and they walk away with £6,000, but the victory is short-lived. Yolande is furious when she finds out and calls off their wedding, leaving the household tense. While the family drown their sorrows at The Vic, trouble is quietly brewing at home. Oscar, desperate and foolish, breaks into No.20 to steal the winnings. But when Patrick unexpectedly catches him in the act, Oscar panics. In a split-second decision that would change everything, he shoves Patrick, who falls and hits the ground hard, leaving him unconscious and alone. Oscar, attempting to flee, is stopped in his tracks when Howie returns home to a nightmare. Oscar hides until he decides to make a run for it. Howie spots a figure fleeing, but can't make out who it is. Moments later, Kim and Denise walk in and find Patrick lying motionless on the floor. Panic sets in fast.
