Rasamny holds series of high-level meetings to bolster aviation safety, labor cooperation

NNA - Minister of Public Works and Transport, Fayez Rasamny, on Tuesday held a series of high-level meetings at his office focusing on aviation safety, diplomatic cooperation, and the rights of transport sector workers.
In a key meeting dedicated to civil aviation, Minister Rasamny met with Middle East Airlines (MEA) Chairman Mohamad El Hout, Director General of Civil Aviation Engineer Amin Jaber, Head of the Civil Aviation Directorate Omar Qaddouha, and Airport President Kamal Nasreddine.
The meeting reportedly focused on enhancing safety procedures and improving coordination mechanisms at Beirut–Rafic Hariri International Airport.
Separately, the Minister received Japanese Ambassador to Lebanon, Magoshi Masayuki, for a wide-ranging discussion on local and international developments. Talks also explored avenues for strengthening bilateral cooperation, particularly in sectors under the Ministry's purview.
Minister Rasamny also convened with a delegation from the General Labor Confederation (GLC), headed by its President Bechara Asmar and accompanied by GLC officials Shadi El Sayed and Khalil Zaiter. The meeting, attended by Director General of Land and Maritime Transport Dr. Ahmed Tamer, addressed challenges facing workers in ports, airports, and ground transportation.
Rasamny underscored the importance of upgrading productive sectors, improving workplace safety, and fostering effective collaboration between the public and private sectors.

Lebanon: PM Salam Visits Speaker Berri, Says Doors Open to Hezbollah

Lebanese Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri received on Monday PM Nawaf Salam, who stressed commitment to the ministerial statement and said that doors are open to Hezbollah. National News Agency (NNA) reported that discussions between Berri and Salam touched on the current general developments, political updates, as well as the reconstruction efforts. Following the meeting at Ain Al-Tineh, Salam told reporters that he has not deviated 'by a single word from what was agreed upon,' responding to accusations that he was not abiding by the ministerial statement. He added that he is committed to reconstruction, noting that the government is mobilizing the necessary support for this. Meanwhile, signaled a willingness for dialogue and engagement with Hezbollah. '(Hezbollah MP) Mohammad Raad and the group are welcome. The doors of my home and the Grand Serail are open,' he said in remarks carried by local media. When asked about the relation with the Lebanese premier last week, Speaker Berri told Lebanese daily Al-Jomhouriya that Salam's tone sets the tone. 'He brings the heat, we'll match it; he stays cool, so will we.'
