The Final ‘Fantastic Four: First Steps' Trailer Ups the Stakes Even Further
We're a month away from the arrival of the next Marvel movie in Fantastic Four: First Steps, and Marvel is reminding us in style with a brand new trailer—one that really wants you to feel the stakes that are riding on this movie, in more ways than one. Prior looks at First Steps leaned into the Silver Age retro-kitsch of its world, and then the arrival of Julia Garner's Silver Surfer to herald the threat of the dread, Galactus. But now this final big trailer for the film really wants to remind us that we kind of already have an inkling how this might go down for the Fantastic Four. And that the arrival of Ralph Ineson's devourer of worlds is very grave news indeed. Because yes, hanging over the threat of Galactus' arrival on this particular Earth in Marvel's multiverse, we know that, thanks to the set up at the end of Thunderbolts, at some point the Fantastic Four have to make their way from this reality to the prime reality of the MCU. Whether they'll have done so after beating back Galactus successfully, or whether they're looking to other realities in the hope they might be able to help find a new home, remains to be seen. Or maybe we should believe Kevin Feige and that ship is not at all related to this version of the Fantastic Four! However it goes, things are going to get quite dire for Richards family and their friends before all that—we'll find out how dire when Fantastic Four: First Steps hits theaters in one month, on July 25.
