NFL has no comment on Patriots' schedule release video featuring Dave Portnoy
The schedule release makes for strange bedfellows.
For the NFL and Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy, they've apparently found common ground after more than a decade of hostility.
Only two days after the 10-year anniversary of Portnoy's arrest for staging a sit-in at the lobby of the league office in protest of the Tom Brady #Deflategate suspension, Portnoy presented the Patriots' 2025 schedule as an 'emergency press conference.'
The arrest resulted in a banishment of Portnoy and other Barstool personalities from league events. Portnoy commissioned a popular T-shirt featuring Commissioner Roger Goodell in a clown nose. Four years later, Portnoy was physically ejected from Super Bowl LIII in Atlanta.
Three years later, the Portnoy complaint made its way to Goodell's Congressional testimony regarding workplace issues with the Commanders organization. Goodell claimed to have no knowledge of the issue.
Now, the league has no comment on Portnoy's presence in the Patriots' video. Even though Portnoy makes direct reference to the Goodell clown-nose shirt during his comments.
It remains to be seen whether this ends the league's ban on Barstool. Based on Goodell's 2022 comment and the league declining comment after the Patriots' video, it looks like the league is declaring ignorance and retreating.

I will stand up. Did the priest use our parish computer to look at pornography? …True or false? True or false?' McQuaide's challenge occurred while Williams was reading a letter from Archbishop Robert Casey to the Our Lady of Visitation congregation that said the rumors were investigated and "no wrongdoing — either criminally or ecclesiastically — has been substantiated." The letter also said that one of the priests was taking a 'previously planned sabbatical." "Like gossip, the spreading of rumors is sinful, and we should all work to overcome this tendency of our fallen human nature," the letter said. Two Green Township police officers escorted McQuaide from the church. McQuaide was not charged, according to the police. After attending Ohio State, McQuaide served as the Rams long snapper for 10 years, beginning in 2011 when the franchise was in St. Louis and ending after the 2021 season. Since then he has played for the Dallas Cowboys, Detroit Lions, Minnesota Vikings and Miami Dolphins, having appeared in 197 career games. Oregon Football's Kenyon Sadiq pegged as breakout NFL draft riser for 2025 In 2025, all signs point towards Kenyon Sadiq becoming a household name for the Oregon Ducks. With his talent, Sadiq would have been most anyone else's starting tight end for the past two seasons, but he had to play a backup role to Terrance Ferguson. Now it's his time to shine. Sadiq is one of the more experienced receivers on the Duck roster this coming season, and he's expected to have a breakout season in 2025. As a result, with his size, NFL scouts should have a field day rating him. Sadiq will be a hot commodity when the NFL draft rolls around. According to USA TODAY writer Michael Middlehurst-Schwartz, Sadiq could go high in the 2026 NFL selection process. "With second-round tight end Terrence Ferguson and top receivers Tez Johnson and Traeshon Holden off to the NFL, the Ducks are set for a reconfiguration in their receiving corps," he said. "Big things are expected of Evan Stewart as the former five-star recruit enters his second season in Eugene after transferring from Texas A&M, but Sadiq might be the true wild card for the offense. "At 6-3 and 245 pounds, he's a more formidable run blocker than his size might suggest. His true value, however, lies in his ability to create mismatches as a supersized receiver with impressive long speed. Sadiq will have to show he can handle being a featured part of the Ducks' offense and develop into something more than a seam threat, but he's one of the most intriguing draft-eligible tight ends to keep an eye on." The Oregon offense isn't expected to change a whole lot with quarterback Dante Moore under center, but just because of Sadiq's pure talent, the Ducks might go to him more, especially in the red zone and goal-line situations. He showed what he can do in those situations in the Big Ten title game, as he scored two touchdowns in the win over Penn State. The Georgia Bulldogs have offered a scholarship to four-star linebacker recruit Thomas Davis Jr., who is the son of Georgia football legend Thomas Davis Sr. Georgia is making a late push for Davis Jr. The four-star linebacker committed to the Notre Dame Fighting Irish back in November, but Georgia has a strong pitch to land the talented linebacker prospect. Advertisement Georgia helped develop Davis Jr.'s father, Thomas Davis Sr., into a first-round pick in the 2005 NFL draft. Davis Sr. played safety at Georgia from 2002-2004. He changed positions to linebacker in the NFL and blossomed with the Carolina Panthers. Davis Sr. played for Carolina for 13 seasons and made three Pro Bowl appearances. At Georgia, he was selected to the All-SEC first team in 2003 and 2004 and earned a consensus All-American selection in 2004. He is the No. 11 linebacker in the nation and the No. 11 recruit in North Carolina. The 6-foot-2, 205-pound linebacker is exactly what Georgia is looking for at the position. Davis Jr. is a versatile athlete that runs track and plays basketball in addition to playing football.
