Sergio Conceicao leaves AC Milan after just 6 months, Allegri tipped to return to club

The Portuguese coach took over from Paulo Fonseca in December and lifted the Italian Super Cup in just his second game with the club, beating rivals Inter in Saudi Arabia.
But the chance of more silverware disappeared with defeat to Bologna in the Coppa Italia final and an eighth-place finish in Serie A left them without European football next season.
A brief statement read: 'AC Milan and Sergio Conceicao will not continue their journey together next season.
'The club would like to thank Sergio and his staff for their commitment, professionalism and dedication shown during their time leading the first team over the past few months. The AC Milan family parts with the coach who won the 50th trophy in the club's history, wishing him the best for the future.'

Reports in Italy suggest Massimiliano Allegri could be in line to return to the San Siro, having previously led the Rossoneri between 2010 and 2014.

Michael Jackson's dirty sock sells for more than US$8,000 at auction in France
A single glittery sock that late pop superstar Michael Jackson wore during a concert in France in the 1990s sold for more than US$8,000 on Wednesday, a French auctioneer said. A technician found the used sock discarded near Jackson's dressing room after the concert in the southern city of Nimes in July 1997, auctioneer Aurore Illy told Agence France-Presse. The self-styled 'King of Pop' wore white athletic socks adorned with diamantes during his HIStory World Tour in 1997, according to specialist website Jackson can be seen wearing them in clips of him performing his hit 'Billie Jean'. Decades later, the off-white item of clothing is covered in stains, and the diamantes adorning it have yellowed with age, in a picture posted on the website. 'It really is an exceptional object – even a cult one for Michael Jackson fans,' Illy said.

Europe being run into the ground by amateurs and ideologues
The European Union is determined to talk down to China from a position of considerable weakness. The result has been a prematurely concluded summit in Beijing with nothing to show for it other than a standard statement on climate cooperation. Advertisement At the same time, it has literally cried 'daddy' by accepting 15 per cent tariffs on exports to the United States after Donald Trump threatened to slap the bloc with duties of up to 50 per cent. No wonder many European politicians openly complain that Brussels has effectively capitulated. The deal is even worse than the 10 per cent tariffs placed on British exports. London is now boasting about Brexit. French Prime Minister Francois Bayrou tweeted on X: 'It is a dark day when an alliance of free peoples, united to affirm their values and defend their interests, resolves to submission.' German Chancellor Friedrich Merz said the deal would cause 'considerable damage' to all parties concerned. 'Not only will there be a higher inflation rate, but it will also affect transatlantic trade overall,' he said. Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban called Ursula von der Leyen, the European Commission president, a 'featherweight' who had been 'eaten for breakfast' by the Americans. Advertisement Given the challenges from Washington, you might think Brussels would have seized the occasion to expand trade opportunities with China. No, not really. Before her underwhelming trip to Beijing, von der Leyen and her even lighter-weight deputy, the EU foreign minister Kaja Kallas, continued to talk down to China for supposedly propping up Russia. The reality is that the combined resources of the EU and the US still can't prop up Ukraine.
