Two events postponed at new entertainment venue
Two events due to take place at Derby's new entertainment venue have been postponed.
An event involving England Under 21s manager Lee Carsley was due to happen on Friday 11 May at the newly named Vaillant Live, followed by a boxing event on Saturday 12 May.
The Misfits boxing event has been moved to 16 May, but no date has been set for the football event.
Tickets will remain valid for the rescheduled dates and anyone wanting a refund should contact point of purchase.
In a social media post, Misfits Boxing, the promoter responsible for the boxing event said the reschedule was down to "scheduling issues".
The post also said purchased tickets would remain valid for the new date.
Blake Fallows, the podcast host responsible for the event involving Lee Carsley and former Derby County players Dean Sturridge and Paul Williams said on social media: "Absolutely gutted that we've had to move the show at Becketwell Live next Friday back to a date TBC.
"On behalf of myself, Lee, Dean and Paul we apologise. It's been a long time of planning and there was only a week to go, but we'll be back."
The new £46m entertainment venue has teamed up with BBC Radio Derby and BBC Introducing to give four acts from the city the opportunity to officially open the venue at 12:00 BST on Saturday.
The Whiskey Brothers, Dorothy Ella, Terrianne and Riley Marsh will be the first to perform at the 3,500-capacity venue, which is owned by Derby City Council and was handed over to operators ASM Global in February.
The opening event, which will be free to attend, will be broadcast on BBC Radio Derby.
Acts including John Bishop and Wet Wet Wet have been booked to perform at the venue later in the year.
A spokesperson for Vaillant Live said: "We have two events going live both fully sold out, and we're looking forward to opening our doors, with our wonderful staff ready to welcome everyone."

Former Newsboys Singer Michael Tait's Instagram ‘Confession' Explained
Wondering why Michael Tait is making headlines across the Christian music world? The former Newsboys frontman recently admitted to serious misconduct. A years-long investigation had revealed allegations of drug abuse and sexual assault. Michael Tait's 'confession' followed a detailed report involving multiple alleged victims. Here's what we know about the allegations and Michael Tait's 'confession.' On June 10, Michael Tait shared a post on Instagram titled 'My Confession.' He admitted to drug use and unwanted sexual advances on men. His statement followed the release of an investigative article by The Roys Report, which accused Tait of misconduct over a span of two decades. Tait wrote, 'Recent reports of my reckless and destructive behavior, including drug and alcohol abuse and sexual activity are sadly, largely true.' In the post, Tait confessed, 'For some two decades I used and abused cocaine, consumed far too much alcohol, and, at times, touched men in an unwanted sensual way.' He said he made no excuses, adding, 'While I might dispute certain details in the accusations against me, I do not dispute the substance of them.' He also acknowledged, 'I was, for the most part, living two distinctly different lives.' Tait left Newsboys abruptly in January 2025. On June 4, The Roys Report revealed three men accused Tait of assault during tours in 2004, 2010, and 2014. Two said he fondled them after drinking. One alleged non-consensual touching after Tait invited him to share a bed. Newsboys responded in a June 5 statement, writing, 'We are horrified, heartbroken, and angry… we feel as if we and our families have been deceived for the last fifteen years.' K-LOVE and other Christian radio networks paused airplay for Newsboys and DC Talk music after the story broke. Tait wrote that he had entered a treatment facility in Utah earlier this year and had been sober since. 'I accept the consequences of my sin and am committed to continuing the hard work of repentance and healing,' he stated. He concluded by apologizing to those hurt by his actions. T.J. Watt's potential fines for skipping Steelers mandatory minicamp revealed
T.J. Watt's potential fines for skipping Steelers mandatory minicamp revealed T.J. Watt's contract dispute has led him to no-show Steelers mandatory minicamp — and hefty fines could be the price to pay. Insider Adam Schefter revealed that players on veteran deals could be subjected to up to $100,000 in fines for missing mandatory minicamp — and here is what the Steelers star defender could face per day: Day 1: $17,462 Day 2: $34,925 Day 3: $52,381 Total: $104,768 It remains to be seen if the Steelers will impose the fines, but if Watt's rumored $41 million per year asking price is to be believed, $100K would mean little in the long run. Watt isn't the only edge defender seeking a new contract, as Bengals star DE Trey Hendrickson also skipped mandatory minicamp amid extension talks. While Watt remains absent from mandatory minicamp, all eyes will turn to OLBs Alex Highsmith, Nick Herbig, and rookie Jack Sawyer this offseason.
