The MMA world got some exciting news on Friday afternoon when UFC legend Dustin "The Diamond" Poirier, who last stepped into the octagon on June 1 for a shot at the Lightweight title, made a major announcement during an appearance on "The Pat McAfee Show."
Poirier has long been in the mix for a championship belt, and while he hasn't captured it, he'll have another chance to claim gold on July 19 when he takes on fan-favorite Max Holloway for the BMF title at UFC 318—an electrifying matchup between two of the sport's most entertaining fighters.

But the announcement didn't stop there. Poirier also revealed that this will be his final UFC fight. The Louisiana native is expected to take off his gloves for good following the bout, which adds even more emotion and weight to a legacy already marked by heart, grit, and over 14 years of unforgettable moments in the octagon.
"The Last Dance," Poirier posted on social media.
Fans reacted to Poirier's retirement news:
"When your gone from the UFC you will forever be missed. Win, lose or draw you always put your all out there. Much love diamond, ONE of ONE!" A fan said.

Mario Bautista felt snubbed by not getting Joe Rogan interview at UFC 316

Mario Bautista felt snubbed by not getting Joe Rogan interview at UFC 316 – and then some Mario Bautista felt snubbed out of a post-fight octagon interview after getting his hand raised at UFC 316. Bautista (16-2 MMA, 10-2 UFC) spoiled Patchy Mix's UFC debut when he won a unanimous decision on this past Saturday's main card at Prudential Center in Newark, N.J. Bautista, who was previously coming off a lackluster win over Jose Aldo at UFC 307, wasn't given any mic time with Joe Rogan after beating Mix (20-2 MMA, 0-1 UFC), which rubbed him the wrong way. "Honestly, I wasn't going in there to change people's minds or anything just because the Aldo fight," Bautista told MMA Junkie. "I knew it was going to be a completely different fight, different game plan and everything. So, I wasn't trying to impress anyone after that Aldo fight. It was just a different fight. I got that job done and didn't even get an interview or anything. It was a little weird, but I figured I'd have my chance with the media in the back, then doing things like this, but yeah, it was a little weird." Bautista was originally expected to face Marlon Vera but fought Mix after Vera withdrew three weeks out from the fight. He went from a former title challenger to an octagon newcomer but didn't feel any gratitude from the UFC for his willingness to fight anyone. "I didn't get a thank you or nothing, or like, 'Hey man, we apologize the fight got changed up.' Nothing," Bautista said. "Not even after this fight. Not even just didn't get the interview, I went into the back thinking, 'Maybe they'll say something.' They didn't even say, 'Hey, man, we apologize, the reason for this is this, this and that.' "If they would have given me a reason, I probably would have been totally cool with it like, 'Oh, I understand.' Trump time delay or whatever it may have been, I would have been cool with it. But just be upfront and honest with me and tell me why. I think I would have felt a little bit better about it."

The Best Starz Streaming Deals: Save Up To 64% On A Subscription Right Now

Starz is home to countless series with dedicated fanbases. With hits like Outlander, P-Valley, BMF and Power Book III: Raising Kanan, it's no wonder people continue to subscribe. But if you're already paying for multiple streaming subscriptions, you're probably wondering if there are any Starz deals right now—and how to find them. Starz is currently offering a $3 per month deal on its streaming service. Here's how to sign up. New Starz customers can currently choose between two deal options, depending on whether they'd like to pay on a semi-annual or monthly basis. With the Semi-Annual Plan, you can pay just $17.99 for the first six months (which comes out to $3 per month), or opt for the Monthly Plan and save 64% on your first three months (that's $4 per month). After those deal periods, if you don't cancel your subscription it will renew at the standard rate of $10.99 per month. Here's everything you need to know about this month's best Starz deals. A Starz subscription typically costs $10.99 per month for a Monthly Plan or $45.99 upfront for six months with a Semi-Annual Plan. Occasionally, the streaming service offers discounts to new members, allowing them to save on their subscription for the first few months before paying the regular fee. Starz frequently runs promotions for its streaming service—including the current $3-per-month sign-up deal—though the offers vary. In the past, new and eligible subscribers have been able to access a $0.99-per-month deal through Hulu and Amazon Prime during events like Black Friday and Cyber Monday. That discount hasn't been confirmed for 2025, but you may see it crop up later this year if you're willing to wait. No, Starz isn't free with an Amazon Prime membership. However, Amazon Prime does offer a 7-day free trial period for those looking to try out Starz before committing (you can sign up here). All you need is an active Prime membership. Once the trial period ends, Prime members can subscribe to Starz through Amazon Prime Video for an additional $8.99 per month. It's also worth keeping an eye out for occasional promotions—Amazon offered a Starz streaming deal for just $1.99 per month for the first three months back in March of this year. As we mentioned above, Amazon Prime offers a 7-day free trial of Starz for existing members—but that's not the only way to get a Starz subscription for free. New FuboTV subscribers can access Starz during a 7-day free trial, while Hulu users also get a 7-day free trial window. Just don't forget to cancel before the trial ends if you want to avoid being charged for the subscription. There are also some ways to get Starz by bundling it with another streaming service, as outlined below. Yes, Starz is available to bundle with other streaming services for an additional cost. However, depending on the specific bundle, some package options may not offer significant savings compared to the standalone Starz subscription, which costs $10.99 per month. It could be trying one of the free trials above first to see if you actually need both streaming services at once. Starz is accessible as an add-on through services like Sling TV, Fubo, DirecTV, Philo and Amazon Prime. Additionally, Starz offers a bundle deal with BritBox for $14.99 per month. You can cancel your Starz subscription on either the Starz app or Starz website through your account settings. To cancel on the website, look for 'Billing Plan & Information' and select 'Cancel Subscription' to deactivate your membership. On the app, find 'Account Management' under settings followed by 'My Subscription,' which should display the option to cancel. Once you've successfully opted out, you'll still have access to the streaming service until the next billing cycle.

UFC Atlanta Fight Card Odds And Predictions: Namajunas Vs. Maverick

An important women's flyweight scrap serves as the co-main event of Saturday's UFC Atlanta fight card. In that matchup, former two-time strawweight champion Rose Namajunas looks to bounce back from a November loss to Erin Blanchfield while stopping the climb of Miranda Maverick. Maverick enters Saturday's UFC Fight Night event on a four-fight winning streak. UFC Atlanta takes place on Saturday, June 14, at State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia. In the main event, former UFC welterweight champion Kamaru Usman faces the rising Joaquin Buckley. The main card airs on ESPN at 10 p.m. ET, following ESPN+ streaming prelims at 7:00 p.m. ET. Rose Namajunas (13-7) was 2-1 and had under two years of professional MMA experience when she fought Carla Esparza for the UFC women's strawweight title on the season finale of The Ultimate Fighter Season 20. Esparza won that December 2014 bout by submission, claiming the inaugural 115-pound title. Over the next few years, Namajunas was essentially learning on the job, and she learned well, running up a record of 4-1 between October 2015 and April 2017. In November 2017, Namajunas stepped into the Octagon to face then-UFC strawweight titleholder Joanna Jedrzejczyk. The champ was a -700 favorite on fight night, while the challenger checked in at +500. Namajunas stunned the MMA world that night, scoring an upset first-round knockout win to become the champ. Proving her victory was not a fluke, Namajunas defeated Jedrzejczyk by decision in their rematch in April 2018. Namajunas lost the title in her second attempted defense when Jessica Andrade scored a slam knockout win at UFC 237. A non-title fight victory over Andrade, who dropped the belt in August 2019 to Zhang Weili, followed. That win earned Namajunas another shot at the title. In April 2021, Namajunas regained the belt with a perfectly timed head kick to stop Weili in the first round. She defeated the former champ by decision in their rematch in November 2021. Namajunas surrendered the title to Esparza in May 2022 in a tepid performance. Since losing the title, Namajunas is 2-2 at 125 pounds, losing a decision to Manon Fiorot in September 2023, defeating Amanda Ribas by decision in March 2024 and beating Tracy Cortez by decision in July 2024. In her most recent outing, Namajunas dropped a decision to Erin Blanchfield in November. Namajunas is the No. 7 ranked UFC women's flyweight fighter. Miranda Maverick (15-5) joined the UFC in 2020 after spending most of her time with Invicta FC. At the time, she was 7-2 and coming off a 'Performance of the Night' bonus-winning decision win over Pearl Gonzalez. Maverick opened her UFC career with two wins. The promotion then matched her against another young fighter, Maycee Barber. Barber was on a two-fight losing skid at the time. She ended that run of defeats with a split-decision win over Maverick. Things did not get any easier for Maverick in her next matchup, as the UFC booked her opposite Erin Blanchfield, who was 1-0 in the UFC, but riding a four-fight winning streak. Blanchfield kept that winning streak intact with a unanimous decision win over Maverick. Since those back-to-back setbacks, Maverick has gone 6-1 with her only loss being a June 2023 decision to Jasmine Jasudavicius. She is 4-0 in her most recent bouts, and coming off a unanimous decision win over Jamey-Lyn Horth in December. Maverick is ranked 11th in the UFC's 125-pound division. When BetOnline first listed the betting odds for this matchup, Namajunas was a -205 favorite over the +155 Maverick. Today, Namajunas is -241, while Maverick checks in as the +206 betting underdog. Age: 32 Height: 5' 5' Reach: 65' Stance: Orthodox Age: 27 Height: 5'3' Reach: 65' Stance: Southpaw Despite her 2-2 record in her past four fights, there are questions about Namajunas' heading into UFC Atlanta. Most of those questions revolve around her confidence, mindset, and ability to defeat top-level 125-pound competition at this stage of her career. The good thing for Namajunas is that this contest appears to be designed to give her a win. Namajunas has good footwork and takedown defense. With that, the former champ should be able to thwart Maverick's takedown attempts. Maverick has strong wrestling and ground control, but if she cannot get the fight to the mat, she struggles on her feet. Namajunas has the skills to keep this fight standing. One worry is that Namajunas has become accustomed to fighting at the pace a five-round fight requires. A slow start in this three-round scrap could hurt her. The betting pick is for Namajunas to beat Maverick via decision. We will have more on the UFC Atlanta fight card as fight night nears, and fight night results and reactions on Saturday.
