According to the latest reports, a former KZN Academy star has surfaced at Naturena.
24-year-old right-back Mhleli Mabuza is undergoing a trial at Naturena after parting ways with Portuguese side Louletano D.C.
Mabuza has spent the past six years in Portugal at various lower division clubs.
Now, according to KickOff , Kaizer Chiefs are assessing the full-back with a blockbuster transfer in mind.
'Amakhosi are believed to have recently welcomed defender Mhleli Mabuza for an assessment period at the club's training base in Naturena this week,' the publication reported.

Rulani Mokwena breaks silence on Zwane's CAF final snub
Rulani Mokwena, former Mamelodi Sundowns head coach, has finally addressed Themba Zwane's surprise omission from the CAF Champions League final. 'Over and above whether or not he should be playing, I think that's always something that is up to the coach. 'The Neo who is in Tembisa instead of going into the corners and really being overcome by so many social ills, he gets motivated when he says 'hey I used to watch Themba Zwane playing on the street barefooted and there he is already going to the Club World Cup, Champions League', he serves as an inspiration for many.' While he acknowledged that match-day decisions involve many unseen dynamics, Mokwena subtly hinted that, given the chance, he would have included Zwane in the final. 'I don't know [on playing Zwane] because the dynamics are completely different. But you know as a Sundowns coach, nine out of 10 times I played Mshishi.' That statement says it all. SAFA may dodge sanctions despite Bafana Bafana's player suspension oversight
In a significant development that arose this week after all the airtime arising from their engagement with the Portfolio Committee on Sports, Arts and Culture, the South African Football Association (SAFA) is on the verge of evading sanctions for a serious oversight.
