California Crafting New Auto Pollution Rules After Trump Attacks

California's clean-air regulator is pressing ahead with work on new rules for auto emissions in the state and possible new tax credits for electric cars to counter the Trump administration's effort to corral the state's regulatory heft. The California Air Resources Board and five other agencies recommended the state backfill the $7,500 federal tax credit for electric vehicles that is currently set to expire in late September. Although funding would be subject to available resources, vouchers, rebates or other incentives would help support sales and expand the availability of used EVs, the agencies said in a report released Tuesday.

InventHelp Inventor Develops New Product for Securing Cargo Straps (CTK-1550)

PITTSBURGH, Aug. 19, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- "I wanted to provide truckers with a simple and effective means of keeping the loose tails of tightened straps rolled up, secured, and stabilized," said an inventor, from Aberdeen, S.D., "so I invented the HOUSING UNIT FOR STRAP. My design would simplify the process of securing the strap ends while also reducing exposure to the elements." The invention provides an improved means of securing strap tails on flatbed trailers. In doing so, it ensures the straps are neatly rolled up for transport. As a result, it prevents excess strap ends from coming loose, flapping in the wind, etc. It also saves time and effort. The invention features a practical design that is easy to use so it is ideal for truck drivers and trucking companies. Additionally, a prototype model and technical drawings are available upon request. The original design was submitted to the National sales office of InventHelp. It is currently available for licensing or sale to manufacturers or marketers.
