Aldi's budget friendly insect and ant repellent spray
Now, Aldi has the perfect solution thanks to its £2.49 insect spray.
The budget friendly spray kills ants and crawling insects on contact, but also works to help against repeat infestations.
The German supermarket has had plenty of gadgets on offer this summer to keep yards bug-free.
It also recently sold a £7.49 Adventuridge Bug Zapper that can kill insects in an instant.
Its UV light lures in bugs before killing them instantly.
The lantern comes in two colours - blue or black - so it will match any garden furniture you already have.
Plus its built-in carabiner means you can attach it to a garden shed or gazebo.
While the bug zapper was only around while stocks lasted, there are plenty of garden hacks people can employ in order to keep ants and insects away.
One woman recently took to her TikTok page to shared her clever way to stop the pests ruining outdoor feasts this summer, and it's entirely chemical free.
The clip showed a cup sitting on the table, with smoke coming off it, as Dil explained she was shown the clever trick when she went to a restaurant in Cyprus.
6 ways to get rid of slugs and snails
"Little hack for you, a little bit of Turkish coffee and coal when you've got the barbecue on stops the flies coming around your food," she said in the video.
And while Dil used Turkish coffee - a finely ground coffee known for its texture - for the hack, you can use any ground coffee for it to work.
Why do Aldi and Lidl have such fast checkouts
IF you've ever shopped in Aldi or Lidl then you'll probably have experienced its ultra-fast checkout staff.
Aldi's speedy reputation is no mistake, in fact, the supermarket claims that its tills are 40 per cent quicker than rivals.
It's all part of Aldi's plan to be as efficient as possible - and this, the budget shop claims, helps keep costs low for shoppers.
Efficient barcodes on packaging means staff are able to scan items as quickly as possible, with the majority of products having multiple barcodes to speed up the process.
It also uses 'shelf-ready' packaging which keeps costs low when it comes to replenishing stock.
Meanwhile, another expert has explained that as well as being annoying, flies can pose a serious health risk - as they can transfer bacteria like Salmonella and E. coli onto food and preparation surfaces.
According to Pest-Stop's technical training manager Sophie Thorogood, there are some tips to follow to keep the unwelcome guests at bay.
Firstly, it's important to keep your home - and your garden - clean.

I'm having a baby with new boyfriend – but he abandoned me then got woman I loathe pregnant

We had a huge blowout about us moving in together and he stormed out — no goodbye, no explanation DEAR DEIDRE I'm having a baby with new boyfriend – but he abandoned me then got woman I loathe pregnant Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) DEAR DEIDRE: DISCOVERING I was pregnant by my new boyfriend was a welcome surprise and I really embraced the idea of becoming a mum. However, he has really shown his true colours by abandoning me and also getting a woman I loathe pregnant at the same time. Sign up for Scottish Sun newsletter Sign up I'm 36 and have always longed for a baby. I previously tried for years with a previous partner and even went through IVF on my own, but fertility issues left me with little hope. So I was delighted to discover that I am expecting. My boyfriend is 39 and we'd only been seeing each other a short while, but it didn't take long before the excitement set in. And I really thought we had a future together. Then we had a huge blowout because he was being evasive about us moving in together, and I said he would need to share the load of having a newborn. He stormed out — no goodbye, no explanation, he just vanished, leaving me to face everything alone. I was heartbroken. Just as I was beginning to feel excited about the baby again, he got in touch and dropped a bombshell. He'd got another woman pregnant. She's someone I've never liked. We share mutual friends, and she's always been sly — copying me, making passive-aggressive digs, even trying it on with an ex of mine. We've had our fair share of drama and arguments over the years. Now I feel betrayed all over again. I know technically we weren't together, but he knew how I felt about her. He says he wants to be involved with our baby and step up. But how can I trust him, especially when he's having a child with her too? Dear Deidre: Spotting the signs your partner is cheating DEIDRE SAYS: This is a lot to process, especially after everything you've been through to become a mum. Your ex didn't cheat but it's the emotional betrayal and timing that's so painful. Unprotected sex with someone he knows you dislike, so soon after leaving you, feels like a slap in the face. Does having him involved feel supportive or stressful? You have every right to set boundaries that protect your peace and wellbeing. Co-parenting is possible without rekindling a relationship. Talking to a therapist can help you decide what's best for you. Tavistock Relationships ( 020 7380 1960) can help. GIRL MATE IS SINGLE AGAIN AND I WANT TO MAKE A MOVE DEAR DEIDRE: AFTER years of hiding my feelings, the girl I've always fancied is suddenly single – and now I'm wondering what I should do next. The last thing I want to do is overstep, but I'm terrified if I don't make a move I'll be stuck in the friendzone forever. I'm 27, she's 26, and we've always been close, but I never thought she saw me that way. She was with her boyfriend for a long time, so I kept my feelings to myself and stayed just friends. However, she's recently broken up with him, and I'm not sure what to do. I want to make my feelings known, but I'm worried she might just be looking for a rebound, and I don't want to be the one who gets hurt or used. At the same time, I don't want to wait too long and miss my chance. How do I tell her how I feel? I feel anxious even thinking about it. DEIDRE SAYS: It's normal to worry about being seen as a rebound, especially after someone has just left a long-term relationship. Take things slowly and be a supportive friend first. It's likely she'll probably need some time to heal. When the moment feels right, be honest about your feelings without putting pressure on her. While you can't guarantee that she will reciprocate, being genuine and patient gives you the best chance of building something meaningful. SCARED TO LEAVE ABUSIVE PARTNER DEAR DEIDRE: FOR years, I've been trapped in a toxic relationship with a man who controls every part of my life – emotionally, verbally and financially. Now I finally have the means to leave, I'm terrified. I'm 38, he's 42, we've been together over a decade and have two children. The last few years have been a living nightmare. He constantly puts me down, isolates me from friends, and lashes out in anger that sometimes get physical. I spend every day walking on eggshells, terrified of setting him off. I've wanted to leave so many times, but I've had no money, no support network. But recently, my grandmother passed away and left me an inheritance. It's not life-changing, but it's enough to get out. I feel paralysed by fear. What if I can't manage on my own? I want a better life for my children, but I don't know how to take that first step. Help. DEIDRE SAYS: You've shown incredible strength by surviving this long, and now you have a real chance to break free. It's normal to feel scared, but staying may cause more harm in the long run. Reach out to Women's Aid ( or call the National Domestic Abuse Helpline on 0808 2000 247, who can help you plan your next steps safely. I'm sending you my pack, Abusive Partner?, which offers further support. PAL IN LOVE WITH A SEX OFFENDER DEAR DEIDRE: MY best friend has fallen head over heels for a convicted sex offender, and I'm terrified she's putting love before her child's safety. We are both 37 and have been friends since school. I've always known her to be a great mum to her ten-year-old daughter. But now I'm questioning her judgement. She met this man online about six months ago. Not long into dating, he told her he had a conviction for a sex offence that happened 'years ago'. He claims it was a misunderstanding and that he's a changed man. She believes him completely. Her family and I have tried to warn her to be careful, especially with her daughter at home, but she says we're being judgmental and that she knows him better than anyone. Now he's moved in with them, and I can't shake the feeling that something's not right. Should I leave her to trust her instincts, or is my sense of duty to protect that little girl the right path? I feel torn. What should I do? DEIDRE SAYS: You're right to trust your instincts – when it comes to a child's safety, it's always better to be cautious. It's deeply worrying that your friend is ignoring your concerns. While people can change, sex offences are serious and not to be dismissed. You need to have a very frank conversation with your friend. Explain, firmly but compassionately, that while you love and care for her, you're extremely worried about her daughter's well- being. Let her know this isn't about judging her relationship but about protecting a child. If, after that, she still refuses to listen, you may need to consider raising a safeguarding concern with your local children's services. I'm sending you my pack, Worried A Child's At Risk?, which has further advice and resources.

Curvy fashion fan praises dress which makes her ‘so confident' – it's perfect for top heavy girls & no is bra needed

Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) IT can be hard to find a summer dress if you're somewhat top heavy. Bra straps can prove unsightly under anything too strappy, and it can seem impossible to find something supportive enough to go bra-free. Sign up for Scottish Sun newsletter Sign up 3 TikTok user Jess showed her followers the dress that left her feeling 'so confident' Credit: tiktok/@jessdoinglifee 3 Jess explained that the look had such good chest support that she didn't have to wear a bra Credit: tiktok/@jessdoinglifee TikTok user and curvy fashion fan Jess (@jessdoinglifee) shared the summer dress she found that left her feeling more confident than ever. "I have never felt as confident in my whole life than what I do right now in this dress," she said as she modelled the look for her followers. "The most confident I've felt in a dress in years." The scoop neck midi dress is from the fashion brand Mooslover, which features a variety of styles with shape wear built in. Normally between a size 16 and 18, the five-foot-one influencer picked up the look in a 2XL. Jess explained that the sleek look even had built-in shape wear, allowing her to go without underwear and avoid unsightly lines. She added that the shapewear even had a slit, making it easy to use the loo. But perhaps the most enticing feature for curvier woman is the chest support. "I am quite a top-heavy girl and it's got like a built-in bra," Jess told her audience. The TikToker turned to the side to show her viewers the support the dress provided her. I'm a midsize mum and put different shapewear to the test - I swear by an M&S pair that help fight chub rub She went on to describe how amazing she felt in the look, adding that she wanted to get every colour on offer. "It just makes me feel that good and that confident," Jess reiterated to her followers. She praised the fashion brand for knocking it out of the park with the shape wear and chest support. "Mooslover have really pulled it out of the bag with this, wow is all I can say, I'd recommend everybody to give this a go, amazing," Jess said. The brand are known for their innovative shapewear, which often includes removeable bra pads, an open gusset, and extra room for the butt. Hottest fashion trends of 2025 Fabulous' Fashion Editor Clemmie Fieldsend shares the biggest trends from the high street. The East/West Bag Baguette bags have had a good run, after returning from the 1990s' shoulders of Sarah Jessica Parker to modern-day fashion icons, like Hailey Bieber. In 2025, the East/West bag is a similar but elongated shape and has long, thin straps that are easy to throw over your shoulder. They've been on runway models' arms at nearly ever designer show - think Burberry, Givenchy and Bottega Veneta - and are hitting the high street now, too. Powder pink Bright fuchsia pink had its day after the release of Barbie in 2023 and now the more polished and expensive-looking pale shade is taking over for 2025. Pantone may say that it's the year of Mocha Mousse, but the catwalks say otherwise! From Prada to Erdem, the subtle look was all over the spring/summer catwalks, worn head-to-toe or on its own. If the sugary shade is too girly for you, then look to sharp suiting for a androgynous take on the colour. The shell jacket The '80s classic is back, but with a sleek and minimal new twist for 2025. We all know we're likely to see rain for most of spring, so your practical coat of choice should be a cagoule jacket. Depop revealed one of its big trend predictions for this year is retro sportswear, with surges already seen in '80s windbreakers'. Seen everywhere from the stylish streets of Copenhagen to the Miu Miu catwalk, now mums who have an emergency raincoat crumpled underneath their pushchair are very much in fashion! The turn-up jeans While the shape of jeans remains the same for this year and barrel-legs will still be everywhere, the way we're styling them is different. This season, transform your wide-leg, baggy denims into turn-ups. For this look, size doesn't matter, so while deep turn-ups are a hit from jean trend-leaders Citizens of Humanity, a slight fold is still just as good - but only as it's just one single fold. Peep-toe shoe Get your pedicures booked in sharpish, as this season your toes are the main event. After a long hiatus, the peep-toe has been welcomed back into the fashion fold, with brands like Hermes, Miu Miu and Tory Burch showing plain and embellished footwear in this style. From mules to pumps and clogs (yes, clogs will be around too!), there are lots of different styles that are set to sweep the high street. Sheer blouses See-through looks have always lived on the catwalk, but have rarely filtered into everyday life - until now. Designers Ralph Lauren and Tom Ford loved sheer looks on their S/S '25 catwalks and M&S even had sellout success with its black sheer pencil skirt last season. Expect to see more sheer looks lining supermarket aisles and high street shops in the form of skirts, tops and frocks. Jess' followers shared their thoughts on the stylish look in the comments section. "You look amazing in that dress, get them all," wrote one impressed viewer. "You look absolutely incredible, Jess," agreed another TikTok user. "You're looking really good, you [would] want to be proud of yourself," commented a third person. "Wow Jess, you look phenomenal," wrote another one of Jess' followers. One viewer compared her to the cartoon character Jessica Rabbit, who famously wears a sleek skin-tight dress.
