When Twinkle Khanna recalled moving to her grandmother's home after Rajesh Khanna and Dimple Kapadia's separation: ‘My mother and aunt shared a bed, Rinke and I slept on the floor'

Actor-turned-author
Twinkle Khanna
, daughter of
Dimple Kapadia
and
Rajesh Khanna
, has never shied away from being candid about her childhood. At her book launch in September 2018, she spoke about how her father's career decline and her parents' separation shaped her view of life.
What stood out most for her was the way her mother held the family together.
"Everything I write about seems to be about women finding their place in the world, about the chafing between what a woman is and what she is meant to be,"
Twinkle
had said.
Moving to her grandmother's house
Twinkle painted a vivid picture of those transitional days when they shifted to her grandmother's home.
Dimple
and her sister shared a bed, while Twinkle and her younger sister Rinke slept on mattresses on the floor.
And yet, there was routine, order, and resilience.
Every morning at 5 AM, Dimple would quietly roll out a Jane Fonda workout tape and begin exercising on mute, careful not to disturb anyone. For Twinkle, that small detail became a lifelong lesson in discipline and grace under pressure.
Strength behind the smile
Dimple was working three shifts at the time, but never once let her struggles seep into her children's lives.
Twinkle remembered her mother's quiet strength with admiration.
"For me, it was very clear at that point that a woman doesn't have to rely on anyone besides herself," Twinkle reflected. "Men were okay, it was enjoyable to have them like a dessert, but they were certainly not the main course."
Rajesh Khanna's 10th death anniversary: When Dimple Kapadia spoke fondly about her ex-husband: 'We may have separated…'
Dimple on Twinkle's maturity
Interestingly, Dimple herself has often spoken about the support she received from her daughter.
At an event in Jaipur, she recalled how Twinkle stepped into the role of caretaker even as a child.
"She's an amazing child. She must have been all of seven or eight when I got separated," Dimple said. "The kind of maturity... She was only wanting to take care of me, to see if I was okay, if everything was alright with me. There are lots of things I can't say because of you know what... But she was like my friend. Then she turned into a monster mother."

Top 4 Zodiac Signs Who Always Keep a Backup Crush in Love

I illustrate Leo, Gemini, Sagittarius, and Pisces playfully juggling glowing hearts in a dreamy pastel sky. Their distinct features and costumes reflect their zodiac signs. Some people believe in one true love. Others believe in a waiting list. While most of us are busy romanticizing 'the one,' a few zodiac signs secretly keep 'the other one' on standby. It's not about being disloyal. Instead, it's their way of never letting their heart run out of options. For them, a backup crush isn't cheating, it's emotional insurance. Here are the top 4 zodiac signs who almost always have a Plan B in love - Scorpio (October 23 - November 21) Scorpios won't admit it, but they always keep a backup crush hidden in their vault. For them, attraction is power, and they like knowing they have someone to fall back on if their main interest disappoints. Their strategy yearns for control. A Scorpio will never let their heart feel cornered. They keep their Plan B in the shadows until the right moment to reveal it. Gemini (May 21 - June 21) Geminis are wired to juggle. Conversations, hobbies, feelings—why should crushes be any different? They can be totally smitten with you while also exchanging flirty memes with someone else. Their twin energy thrives on variety, and keeping a backup crush feels as natural as switching between apps. Don't take it personally; they just like having options. Libra (September 23 - October 22) Libras hate being alone more than they hate mismatched outfits. They're charmers by nature, and their constant need for attention means there's always someone in the wings, waiting for their spotlight. If their main crush doesn't reciprocate, they smoothly slide their affections elsewhere without missing a beat. Balance restored. Sagittarius (November 22 - December 21) Sagittarius loves freedom too much to lock their heart into one box. They thrive on the thrill of possibilities, and one crush simply doesn't satisfy their adventurous spirit. They'll laugh with you on a Friday and text someone else about a spontaneous road trip on Saturday. For them, it's all about keeping things exciting. So if you're crushing on one of these signs, just know that you might not be the only name on their roster. Sean 'Diddy' Combs case: Prosecutors aim to stop new trial and another jury decision; Defence argues the limits

Federal Prosecutors are urging the judge concerning the Sean 'Diddy' Combs case to reject his request for a renewed trial or a new jury verdict, after he was acquitted of two charges related to transportation to engage in prosti******. They filed the papers in court on Wednesday, citing that the music mogul had an elaborate se***l events from the dawn of 2008 till last year before he was taken into custody, which involved male workers who had to cross the state borders to participate. Sean 'Diddy' Combs seeks a new trial or an overturned jury decision Previously, the jury declared its decision to acquit Diddy of two serious charges, including s** trafficking and racketeering conspiracy, which denoted 15 years of mandatory jail sentences for each. However, the jury convicted him of the two lesser Mann Act charges that put constraints on interstate commerce for prosti******, which carry 10 years penalty. He had been requesting bail on bonds, but the judge had been denying the requests, according to AP. Prosecutors aim for the judge to reject the request Furthermore, Prosecutors argued that Diddy's defence lawyers were wrong to argue that the 55-year-old was being accused of vague Mann Act, where his team claimed that the conviction violates his First Amendment rights. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like When the Camera Clicked at the Worst Possible Time Read More Undo They pointed out that he engaged in drug-fueled events involving numerous girlfriends and male workers, which were also recorded, to threaten his partners to continue engaging in the Freak-Off sessions multiple times a week. Additionally, they argued that he masterminded and planned out the events, such as paying the escorts to travel across the country, and even directed what he wanted out of them, sometimes by even joining them. Defence team argues the limits of the Mann Acts 'During these relationships, he asserted substantial control over Ventura and Jane's lives. Specifically, he controlled and threatened Ventura's career, controlled her appearance, and paid for most of her living expenses, taking away physical items when she did not do what he wanted,' prosecutors wrote. Meanwhile, the defence argues that the women were not exploited and the men chose to travel, adding that the elements are not used to define the Mann Acts.
