The viral video clip from the 2004 film shows the two characters having a heated argument over India's relationship with Pakistan.
Amid rising tensions between India and Pakistan following Pakistan's attempt to target Indian military installations in Jammu, Pathankot and Udhampur using drones and missiles, an old clip from a 2004 film is going viral.
The scene from Main Hoon Naa, starring Shah Rukh Khan as Major Ram and Suniel Shetty as ex-army major Raghavan Dutta, is going viral. In the viral video clip, the two characters are having a heated argument over India's relationship with Pakistan. Major Ram says, 'Pakistan bhi humara saath de raha hai." To this, Raghavan strongly replies, 'Humara yahi bholapan es desh ko le doobega."
Ram then says, 'Nahi, Raghavan. Tum jaise log is desh ko le dooboge jo sirf nafrat karna jaante ho, khoon bahana jaante ho. Jise hinsa ki itni aadat ho gayi hai ki aman ke naam se bhi dar lagta hai. Lekin aman hoga, sulah hogi, dosti bhi hogi."
But Raghavan shuts him, saying, 'Pakistan ke saath dosti nahi hogi Ram, sirf jung hogi. Har ek faisla, Pakistan ki barbaadi. Tab unke haath mein lage khoon ke daag mitenge. Hazaron sipahiyon ka khoon. Mere bete ka khoon, jiska jung se koi lena dena nahi tha, fir kyun mara usko Pakistaniyon ne."
He repeats, 'Pakistan ke saath dosti nahi hogi Ram."
The clip is now grabbing attention, with many saying Bollywood's old message of peace no longer works. The video was shared with the caption: 'Now Indians understand that in Main Hoon Na, Suniel Shetty was right and SRK was damn blind by Aman ki Asha bulls**t."

Another said, 'Both #veerzara and #mainhoona released in 2004 and were soft propaganda movies which tried to show #pakistan on good side and both were super hit. Bollywood mostly shown Pakistan on soft side during 2000s mostly."
'Shetty's line that we are war since 1947 drew applause from the audience in theaters," a person pointed out.
Someone also said, 'My brain can't handle this cognitive dissonance. I liked the same movie from SRK's POV, and now I understand Suniel Shetty's POV."
On Thursday evening, Pakistan once again initiated aggression with drones, but its attempts fell flat against India's defence systems.
Cities and towns in Jammu & Kashmir, Punjab, Rajasthan and Gujarat experienced blackouts for different periods. Officials issued advisories while assuring people that safety measures were in place.
This attack came after India launched Operation Sindoor under which armed forces destroyed terrorist hubs across nine locations in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir to avenge the Pahalgam terror attack.

Book your tickets today! 🎟️ #Housefull5… — Nadiadwala Grandson (@NGEMovies) June 9, 2025 Directed by Tarun Mansukhani, Housefull 5 features a star-studded cast that also features Nana Patekar, Sonam Bajwa, Nargis Fakhri, Chitrangada Singh, Fardeen Khan, Chunky Pandey, Johnny Lever, Shreyas Talpade, Dino Morea, Ranjeet, Soundarya Sharma, Nikitin Dheer, and Akashdeep Sabir. Jackie Shroff and Sanjay Dutt appear in special cameos. The film was shot on a luxurious cruise that journeyed from London to France, Spain, and back to the UK. Housefull 5 is produced by Sajid Nadiadwala under the banner of Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment. The Hindu's review of the film called it 'entertainment for imbeciles,' stating, 'Director Tarun Mansukhani falters in carrying forward the unapologetic tone set by Sajid Khan. Hailing from the Dharma school, Tarun cocks a snook at animal lovers, generates racist jokes, and lets the camera loose on the cleavage but his heavy-handed approach results in diminishing returns. It is like descending into the gutter with the confidence that the clothes will remain unspoiled. The strand of suspense thriller is more potent, but the comic element does not serve it effectively.'

Javed Akhtar receives Dostoevsky Star Award for cultural contribution

Veteran screenwriter, lyricist, and poet Javed Akhtar was honoured with the Dostoevsky Star Award by the Russian House on June 6 in Mumbai. The award is presented for his role in promoting cultural dialogue and preserving literary heritage. At 80, Akhtar reflected on the personal significance of receiving an award named after one of his early literary influences. 'Dostoevsky is one of the most respected novelists and journalists. In our Khandala house, we have his portrait on the door of our study,' he shared. 'I don't think any Indian writer has received the Dostoevsky Star Award before.' As part of the felicitation, a book of Akhtar's poems translated into Russian by Ramdas Akella was also released during the event. Akhtar, who grew up reading Russian literature in Urdu and English translation, credited writers like Fyodor Dostoevsky, Anton Chekhov, and Maxim Gorky for shaping his narrative sensibilities. He highlighted the long-standing mutual admiration between Indian and Russian literary traditions, noting how both cultures have influenced each other through translated works. Akhtar's wife, actor Shabana Azmi, took to social media to share the moment. Posting a photo of the ceremony, she wrote, 'Another big honour for Javed Akhtar as he received the Dostoevsky Star Award! This year, the Russian House is deeply honoured to award the renowned poet, lyricist and public intellectual Mr Javed Akhtar.' Known for his iconic contributions to Indian cinema, Akhtar co-wrote classics such as Zanjeer, Sholay, Mashaal, and Lakshya, and has also been recognised for his lyrical work in countless Hindi films. Over the years, he has received five National Film Awards for Best Lyrics, the Padma Shri in 1999, the Padma Bhushan in 2007, and the Sahitya Akademi Award in Urdu for his poetry collection Lava. In 2020, he became the first Indian to receive the Richard Dawkins Award for his commitment to rationalism and critical thought.
