Will Caitlin Clark play today? Indiana Fever vs Dallas Wings

Yahoo5 hours ago
The Indiana Fever (15-12) are back in action on Friday at the Dallas Wings (8-20). The Fever are seeking their fourth win in a row as they travel to the American Airlines Center to battle Paige Bueckers, Arike Ogunbowale and the Wings.
Will Caitlin Clark return to action when the Fever do so?
Unfortunately, Clark remains sidelined with a right groin injury. This is the 15th regular-season game Clark has missed in 2025 and the 16th overall, including the WNBA Commissioner's Cup final.
Meghan Hall of For The Win with USA TODAY Sports shared Clark's injury news on Thursday evening.
With Friday night's injury absence, Clark has missed the past six contests for the Fever. Fans last saw Clark in the final minute of the Fever's 85-77 win over the Connecticut Sun on July 15.
Clark's injury woes began in the preseason when she missed the team's opening preseason contest with a left leg injury. Then, a left quadriceps strain cost Clark five games from May 28-June 10. That was followed by a left groin injury that sidelined Clark for four regular season games and the WNBA Commissioner's Cup final from June 26-July 5.
The Indiana Fever released an official statement on Clark's injury status and on her recovery last Thursday, July 24.
"Caitlin Clark underwent further medical evaluations earlier this week, which confirmed that no additional injuries or damage were discovered.
"Clark will continue working with the medical team on her recovery and rehabilitation, with the priority on her long-term health and well-being. There is no timetable available for her return," the Fever's statement read.
Last Sunday, ESPN's Holly Rowe shared a potential timeline for Clark's return.
'Last time when she came back from injury, she didn't get any practice time (or) any time to ramp up her conditioning. This time, they're going to make sure she has time and practice to get rhythm and time with her teammates.
"As you look at their schedule, the third week in August provides a few more practice days where that seems like it's realistic. While she does remain day-to-day, that seems like a better timetable for a possible Caitlin Clark return," Rowe said.
Tipoff against the Wings is set for 6:30 p.m. CT on ION.

Loyd his 7 3s and scores 27 as Aces bounce back from rout with 101-77 win over Valkyries

LAS VEGAS (AP) — Jewell Loyd tied a Las Vegas record with seven 3-pointers and scored a season-high 27 points, and the Aces bounced back from a 53-point loss to roll past the Golden State Valkyries 101-77 on Sunday. Tipping off 25 hours after getting beat 111-58 by league-leading Minnesota in the worst home defeat in WNBA history, the Aces took out their frustrations on the expansion Valkyries, who had won three straight road games. Las Vegas led 50-25 at halftime with Aces reserves scoring 25 points, while the Valkyries' bench had two points. The Aces finished with 18 3-pointers, tying the franchise record. Jackie Young scored 20 points for the Aces (15-14). A'ja Wilson had 14 points and 14 rebounds, and Chelsea Gray added 11 points. Ilana Rupert led the Valkyries (14-14) with 17 points and eight rebounds. Carla Leite and Laeticia Amihere both had 14 points and Kaila Charles added 13. The Aces led 27-14 after one quarter, making 9 of 16 shots. In the closing seconds of the second quarter, Golden State's Janelle Salaun was given a Flagrant 2 foul for knocking Loyd to the ground behind the play. Salaun was ejected and Loyd made the free throws and Kirstan Bell hit a buzzer beater for the 25-point halftime lead. ___ AP WNBA:

Ravens waived an undrafted rookie offensive tackle

The Ravens have made nearly a dozen roster moves over the past four days and just parted ways with another undrafted free agent. Baltimore signed former Jaguars running back D'Ernest Johnson on Saturday, and to make room on the roster, the Ravens waived undrafted rookie free agent offensive lineman Ozzie Hutchinson. Hutchinson (6-4, 305) signed with Baltimore following the 2025 NFL draft after he appeared in 41 games during his stint at Albany (2019-23), earning second-team All-CAA honors in his final season. Before the Hutchinson move, Baltimore announced five roster moves on Saturday, with the shocker being the release of undrafted rookie kicker John Hoyland. In all, the Ravens signed Brent Urban, Scotty Washington, and Baylor Cupp, while releasing Hoyland, tight end Sam Pitz, and linebacker Diwun Black.
