SPML Infra share price soared today after the company announced that it has bagged a project worth ₹385 crore for the water production and supply system for Kekri-Sarwar Sector Package-III in Ajmer, Rajasthan.
The company said it had secured the project under the Government of India's flagship Jal Jeevan Mission.
The contract includes a long-term 10-year operation and maintenance (O&M) component, aimed at ensuring the system's sustained performance over the coming decade. The initiative is part of the broader Kekri Water Supply Scheme, which focuses on upgrading and enhancing the water infrastructure in the Kekri-Sarwar region by drawing water from the Bisalpur Dam.
Subhash Sethi, chairman of SPML Infra said, "We are honoured to be selected for this prestigious project under the Jal Jeevan Mission. With the 10-year O&M contract, we are committed to ensuring the system's optimal performance throughout its operational life.'
The project entails the construction of a 160 MLD Water Treatment Plant at Kekri, two clear water reservoirs with a combined capacity of 37.75 MLD, and nearly 59 kilometres of MS pipeline to create a robust water transmission network. It also involves the integration of advanced pumping systems, SCADA-based monitoring for real-time control, and associated civil infrastructure including new office buildings and residential quarters.
According to the company, this large-scale project will considerably boost the region's water supply capabilities and support the government's mission to provide safe drinking water to every household in the country.

Eligibility survey to conclude in Dharavi on Aug 12
The survey began in March 2024, with initial targets for completion in one year. Residents settled on or before January 1, 2000, are eligible for a free 350 sq ft flat within Dharavi. Those settled between January 1, 2000, and January 1, 2011, may qualify for 300 sq ft units outside Dharavi, under PMAY, either rental or purchase at nominal cost. While the door-to-door visits will end on August 12, residents who call the DRP helpline with valid documents will be entitled to submit documents needed to decide on the eligibility for resettlement. DRP officials said the survey teams will stop door-to-door visits after August 12, but if any tenement holder contacts the DRP helpline and visits DRP and NMDPL offices in Dharavi with valid documents, they will still be added to the survey documentation. As per the latest data, more than 87,000 tenements have completed the household survey, and more than one lakh tenements have been mapped across Dharavi. 'So far, over 87,000 tenements have completed the household (door-to-door) survey, and more than one lakh tenements have been mapped. Similarly, all tenements of the included parcels eligible for redevelopment have been included. However, he changed his tune later to say he does not care what India does with Russia. Politics Over Tariffs Peak The opposition saw Trump's announcement as an opportunity to corner the government. Rahul Gandhi, Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha and Congress MP, echoed Trump and said the Indian economy is a dead economy. 'Yes, he is right. Everybody knows this except the Prime Minister and the Finance Minister. Everybody knows that the Indian economy is a dead economy. I am glad that President Trump has stated a fact," Gandhi said when asked to comment on Trump's dead economy remark. While the Rae Bareli MP attacked the Narendra Modi government, two of his party colleagues– Shashi Tharoor and Rajiv Shukla – called out Trump for his decision. Tharoor, who has gone out of his party's line to back the government on some issues like Operation Sindoor, said India must not 'buckle under" and negotiate hard with the United States. But this time, Shukla also joined Tharoor on the issue and said the government considers Trump a friend, but he has slapped us. 'This is a really wrong step by the US. The government considers Trump a friend, but he has actually slapped us; Indian businessmen will suffer due to this. We will raise all issues in Parliament…When there is so much friendship (between India-US_, then why is Donald Trump troubling India?" Shukla said. Mamata Banerjee's Trinamool Congress also hit out at the government over 'failure" of India's foreign policy and diplomacy. 'We were shown that Trump is a great friend of PM Modi, but the decisions coming from the other side are not good for India's prestige and self-respect," TMC leader Kunal Ghosh said. On the other hand, the ruling BJP and its allies targeted the opposition for taking on the government over Trump's tariffs. Former union minister and BJP MP Anurag Thakur said, 'Leader Opposing Bharat, LoB, Rahul Gandhi's job is only to oppose India. Anyone from around the world makes an anti-India statement, Rahul catches hold of it and starts speaking without thinking."
