Woman, 27, left furious over 'wild' text message she received from beautician after a Brazilian wax
A young Australian woman was left in shock when she received a follow-up text from her beautician after her first Brazilian wax.
Sarah Button, 27, told her 244,000 TikTok followers that her waxing lady informed her she would have to pay more for her next appointment.
A Brazilian wax removes hair from the pubic area. Already an intimate treatment, Sarah was mortified when the beautician told her the 'size of the area' would cost her more next time.
The waxer says via text: 'Thanks hun. Just in future I'll have to charge you a little more just for the size of the area. I hope that makes sense!
'Nothing crazy like $5-10 extra. Enjoy Melbourne!'
Sarah, in shock and unsure how to respond, replied with 'no worries'.
But later she realised she was furious about the insensitive interaction.
'It made me feel initially a bit sad and confused and ashamed but that quickly turned to anger and I was just p**sed off about the whole thing,' she told news.com.au.
The waxer informed Sarah she would have to pay more next time owing to the 'size of the area'
'I was mostly p**sed that there wasn't any mention of it during the consultation or the actual appointment or anything.
'It wasn't until I'd got home that I got the message.'
Sarah said the experience was particularly hurtful as she's been vocal online about her fatty upper pubic area (known as a FUPA), a source of insecurity that she nonetheless embraces.
And when she shared the exchange online, customers and beauticians were united in their fury.
One wrote: 'As a professional in this industry, that is BS.'
'I'm a bigger girl and I've never been charged extra,' wrote another.
A commenter suggested: 'If they want to charge extra, let them advertise it and see what reaction they get.'
Many in the comments remarked on a double standard evidenced by the fact that smaller clients do not get reduced prizes.
Customers and beauticians alike took the comments to express their disapproval
'That's crazy. Please don't go back there,' said one person.
And another added: 'I'd find a new waxer.'
Although the public was overwhelmingly on Sarah's side, a few pointed out that waxing larger clients translates to extra product used by the waxer.
However, size variation between different customers is generally included in the standard pricing at most salons.
And beauticians tend to avoid altering prices according to size or other features affecting the treatments, so as not to be discriminatory and for their own ease.

The two have set tongues wagging ever since getting close while competing on this year's series of Celebrity Big Brother and have been crossing oceans to spend time together since the show ended. Earlier, last week, Chris gushed about his "favourite person," JoJo as they enjoyed a cosy home dinner that he cooked for her. And recently he opened up about his relationship with the US pop star, as they appeared to confirm their loved-up status. After doing two gigs in London, JoJo headed to Chris' property in Surrey where he whipped her up a scrumptious dinner. But before their cozy dinner together, Chris gave plenty of details about his relationship with JoJo. Including how he had "stomach rumbles" due to his "separation anxiety" from being away from the singer. 6 JoJo admitted that she missed him when she was in America Credit: Click News and Media 6 JoJo swapped sequins for a T-shirt and sweats as she was spotted with her new boyfriend Chris Credit: Click News and Media

Bemused Japanese journalists even interviewed families scoffing sausage rolls outside a branch in London LAND OF THE RISING CRUMB Greggs mania as legions of JAPANESE fans desperate to visit UK to try firm's £1.30 sausage roll Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) GREGGS has won a legion of followers in Japan after Madame Tussauds displayed a waxwork version of the bakery chain's sausage roll. Japanese expat influencers have been trying the British pastry favourite and waxing lyrical about it on TikTok. In one video, a Japanese TikTok influencer living in the UK tells her 10,000 followers she eats Greggs twice a day and says: 'If you plan to go to England, please try this.' Another said: 'Pretty sure it's a legal requirement in the UK to eat at least one Greggs.' The Newcastle-based chain became so well-known online that Japanese news channels have run TV reports explaining what it is. On one item on the popular Nippon TV network, a reporter tells viewers: 'Madame Tussauds, the wax museum that is one of London's popular tourist attractions, features numerous wax figures of British royal family members and world-famous celebrities. 'This time, the new exhibit is not a human, but a sausage roll — a popular snack in the UK. 'June 5 is designated as National Sausage Roll Day in the UK, and Madame Tussauds has created a wax replica of a sausage roll made to look just like the one sold by Greggs, a British chain. 'Greggs' sausage rolls are a beloved snack in the UK, with around one million sold each day. "The wax figure production team spent several months completing the piece, going through trial and error to recreate the flaky pastry layers and crisp texture of the sausage roll.' Greggs taste test Bemused Japanese journalists even interviewed families scoffing sausage rolls outside a branch in London, and asked why they liked them so much. One man, identified by the channel only as 'person eating', told viewers: 'The crust is crunchy, crispy and soft. The seasoning is really good.' Greggs was asked to comment on its new-found fame in the Far East. But after the waxwork was unveiled at Madame Tussauds in central London last week, Greggs CEO Roisin Currie, said: 'Seeing our sausage roll receive the celebrity treatment is a proud and slightly surreal moment for all of us.'
