The best red-carpet looks of 2025 so far
Stars like Lauren Sánchez and Blake Lively have embraced glamour for dramatic red-carpet moments.
Billionaire athletes, including LeBron James, have also stood out in designer fashion.
Now that we're halfway through 2025, it's time to reflect on what celebrity fashion has looked like this year.
Aside from a few outfits that missed the mark, most celebrities have stunned at movie premieres, awards shows, and other red-carpet events.
Lauren Sánchez, LeBron James, and Miley Cyrus are just a few of those who have done the latter. Here's a look at their best ensembles and other standouts worn by celebrities this year.
Halle Berry was effortlessly chic at the closing ceremony of the Cannes Film Festival.
She walked the red carpet in a cream-colored lace gown from Dior. It had a mock neckline, puffed short sleeves, and a thin black belt tied into a bow around her waist.
The dress was glamorous on its own, but Berry accessorized to perfection with Chopard diamonds.
Also in France, Lauren Sánchez stunned in black at the Global Gift Gala.
Dolce & Gabbana designed her strapless gown. It was covered in sparkles across its structured bodice and wrapped with a ruched fabric around the hips to enhance its floor-length skirt.
Sánchez also wore an updo hairstyle and a diamond necklace from Messika to complement the statement dress.
Elaine Zhong wore one of the best ball gowns of the year at the "Dossier 137" premiere.
The Elie Saab gown made her one of the best-dressed stars at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival.
It was strapless, with floral appliqués extending across its bodice and the top of its full skirt. Zhong wore the white gown with a thick diamond necklace, a matching bracelet, stud earrings, and a few sparkling rings.
LeBron and Savannah James subtly coordinated their looks for the 2025 Hammer Museum Gala, and it paid off.
The billionaire basketball star arrived at the event in black trousers, $1,690 Louis Vuitton sneakers, and the designer brand's $3,800 Damier jacket in tan, which is now sold out.
Savannah James, on the other hand, wore a dramatic pleated dress from Issey Miyake and $1,795 Giuseppe Zanotti heels with gold snake detailing.
Kylie Jenner and Timothée Chalamet matched in black ensembles at the 2025 David di Donatello Awards.
Jenner posed in a sleeveless Schiaparelli design that featured form-fitting textured fabric, a deeply scooped neckline, and a floor-length skirt.
Chalamet opted for a velvet Tom Ford suit in the same dark shade with a white rose pinned to his jacket.
Not only were the stars' outfits sharp on their own, but they also strongly suited each other.
Blake Lively had her best fashion moment of the year at the Time100 Gala.
She wore a red Zuhair Murad gown and an assortment of jade jewelry. The former had a corseted top with ruched off-the-shoulder sleeves, a form-fitted skirt, and extra fabric attached at the hips.
It was one of the best looks on the Time100 red carpet and one of the strongest outfits Lively has worn throughout her career.
Sergey Brin dazzled with crystals at the Breakthrough Prize ceremony.
As the billionaire cofounder of Google, you might not expect Brin to be overly fashionable.
However, he proved those assumptions wrong with straight-legged trousers, a satin button-down top, and a suit jacket encrusted with pearls, crystals, and beads in leaf patterns.
Miley Cyrus showed just how stylish she is at the 2025 Oscars.
She wore a custom Alexander McQueen gown made from a mix of sparkling fabric and semi-sheer mesh. It also had a halter neckline, a long skirt with a short train, and a row of velvet below her hips.
Her accessories and makeup were arguably even better than the standout dress. She wore lace gloves, a silver watch, diamond earrings, a wavy hairstyle, and bleached eyebrows.
The look was unique and true to Cyrus' style.
Selena Gomez brought the glamour to the EE BAFTA Film Awards.
She arrived on the red carpet in a custom Schiaparelli gown that was impossible to miss. Its top layer was sleeveless, sparkling, and decorated from top to bottom with thick crystals.
The latter piece also had a scooped neckline so deep that it sat below her chest and revealed a black velvet top with off-the-shoulder sleeves.
At the Grammy Awards, Taylor Swift made a fun nod to her 11th studio album and her boyfriend.
She wore a ruby-colored minidress designed by Vivienne Westwood. It had a corset top with a single shoulder strap, fabric that wrapped around her hips to create a miniskirt, and all-over sparkles.
Most fun, though, was her leg chain, which Swift co-designed with Lorraine Schwartz, People reported.
It had multiple rubies in a line that led to a charm of the letter T, seemingly referencing both her boyfriend Travis Kelce and a line Swift sings in her song "Guilty as Sin?" off her 11th studio album, "The Tortured Poets Department."
No one has pulled off theme dressing quite like Jennifer Lopez this year.
Lopez promoted her film "Kiss of the Spider Woman" at the 2025 Sundance Film Festival, where she wore a dress with spider-inspired details from Valdrin Sahiti.
The long-sleeved design was made from lace and embellished with crystals in the shape of a web. It also had long sleeves, a mock neckline, and a slit in the back of its long skirt.
Shaboozey looked cool and comfortable on the Louis Vuitton carpet at Paris Fashion Week.
He wore a full ensemble from the designer brand that included light-wash blue jeans, a brown tweed coat, and a printed silk scarf over a white T-shirt.
Zendaya looked like a princess in January at the 2025 Golden Globes.
She was one of the best-dressed stars of the event thanks to her Louis Vuitton gown.
The strapless design fit Zendaya like a glove, though extra fabric was attached at the back to create the illusion of a full skirt.

Blake Lively, Justin Baldoni 'flirting' video may be smoking gun in legal showdown: expert
Video of Blake Lively "flirting" and "joking" with Justin Baldoni on the set of "It Ends With Us" could take center stage at the actress's deposition Thursday. Baldoni's team will likely work to find "weaknesses" in Lively's accusations, multiple legal experts told Fox News Digital. Judge Lewis Liman ruled Lively's deposition could take place at an undisclosed location of her choosing. "Baldoni's team wants to get admissions from her about the weaknesses in her case and information to support Baldoni's defenses," employment and defamation law attorney Camron Dowlatshahi explained. "For example, they will likely do a deep dive into the videos of her joking and flirting with Baldoni and get her to admit that she was doing so, instead of purportedly feeling uncomfortable, as her representation has claimed." Anything Lively says during her deposition "can and will be used against her," Dowlatshahi emphasized. "Each of their interactions will be analyzed and questioned, and any misstatement by Lively can and will be used against her. I expect there to be multiple deposition sessions as well and for the Baldoni team to move for additional sessions. So, this will likely be the first of potentially a few depositions." WATCH: JUSTIN BALDONI RELEASED UNEDITED 'IT ENDS WITH US' FOOTAGE FEATURING BLAKE LIVELY In December, Lively detailed allegations of sexual harassment, retaliation, intentional affliction of emotional distress, negligence and more against Baldoni and film producer Jamey Heath in a complaint first filed with the California Civil Rights department and later in federal court. Baldoni, in his own lawsuit filed in January, insisted Lively had "falsely" accused him in an attempt to repair her reputation after the fallout from the movie's press tour after the actress took control of the film. Baldoni's legal team claimed Lively had no evidence of a deliberate smear campaign and had instead worked to repair her reputation by accusing the actor and others of sexual harassment. Judge Liman dismissed Baldoni's lawsuit against Lively in June. Lively's deposition was originally scheduled for July 17, but the day before it was set to take place, it was rescheduled for July 31. Texas-based publicist Jed Wallace, who had been named in Lively's original lawsuit, was dismissed from the case by the judge "without prejudice" earlier this month, according to documents obtained by Fox News Digital. Lively's legal team had claimed Wallace weaponized "a digital army around the country, including in New York and Los Angeles, to create, seed, manipulate, and advance disparaging content that appeared to be authentic on social media platforms and internet chat forums." Lively's legal team has also dropped subpoenas against three Youtubers: Kassidy O'Connell, McKenzie Folks and Lauren Neidigh, according to court documents obtained by Fox News Digital. The deposition in Lively's case against the actor is Baldoni's "one opportunity" to "lock in" the movie star's testimony, according to entertainment lawyer Tre Lovell. "This is Baldoni's one opportunity to ask Ms. Lively questions under oath, to lock in her testimony, get her to admit things that are helpful to his case and challenge testimony that helps her case. It's also an opportunity to get her to authenticate and lay a foundation for documents and information that Baldoni wishes to introduce at trial. Ms. Lively must be honest and tell the truth as her testimony is under oath. "Blake Lively may be able to offer information that is helpful to her case that has not yet been discovered. She also has the opportunity to better explain what happened during the filming that supports her claims for sexual harassment or retaliation. She can offer more specifics about Mr. Baldoni's conduct as well as identify other witnesses who may have information." Baldoni's legal team's focus will be on any "inconsistencies" between Lively's claims during the deposition and her actual lawsuit, former federal prosecutor Neama Rahmani noted. "Depositions can generally reveal inconsistencies, create impeachment evidence for testimony at trial and uncover facts that support Baldoni's arguments in the lawsuit," Rahmani told Fox News Digital. "In this case specifically, Baldoni's lawyers want admissions from Lively about decision-making authority under their agreement and who has creative control or communications with third parties that may undermine her sexual harassment claims. Lively's text messages and prior statements may be used to attack her argument that Baldoni created a sexually charged workplace and hostile work environment." Experts told Fox News Digital Lively likely went through intense preparation by her own lawyers. "They will explain to her the typical objections lodged by the other side, such as privilege, vagueness, ambiguity and speculation and how those objections can cue her responses," Dowlatshahi said. "By the time she is placed under oath, she will have likely gone through hours of mock questioning from her lawyers. But even with all that preparation, the pressure from competent counsel can be difficult for any deponent." Lively's legal team would have prepared a mock deposition to teach the "Gossip Girl" star how to "answer questions narrowly" to avoid "volunteering unnecessary information." "The most important rule in depositions is to answer the question truthfully, but only the question and nothing more," Rahmani told Fox News Digital.

Emily Blunt Debuts Her Most Dramatic Hair Transformation in Almost 20 Years
Shelovesherjob, shelovesherjob, Gist Emily Blunt was spotted on the set of The Devil Wears Prada 2 with a fire engine red lob. She wore a black outfit with a white Dior shirt. Blunt previously debuted lighter red hair while arriving on set for the Blunt has finally made an appearance on the set of The Devil Wears Prada 2—and she is serving some serious 2006 nostalgia with her brand new hair. The actress, who played Emily, Miranda's snappy, domineering assistant in the original film, made an appearance looking—well—pretty much exactly the same. In the photos, Blunt rocked a bright red lob in a center part with a gentle wave. Blunt had previously been pictured arriving on set with a slightly lighter, more natural shade of red. As for Blunt's costume, it was also spot on for the character. She rocked a pair of corseted black and white pinstripe pants with a branded white Dior shirt and a corset vest top. She carried a large black handbag and donned a pair of black oval sunglasses. In other words, she looked just as formidable and fashion-forward as ever. Blunt's appearance on set follows a number of buzzy sightings of other cast members on the streets of New York. Anne Hathaway has been seen filming the sequel in a number of Andy Sachs looks—a gray suit with a $15,000 necklace and a navy shirt dress with an unusual red vest, to name a few. Meryl Streep has also made a return as the infamous Miranda Priestly, complete with her iconic sleek silver bob. Not much is known about the much-anticipated sequel yet—other than the looks, of course. We can hazard a guess that Blunt is having a ball on set. After all, back in 2022, before the sequel was confirmed, Blunt said in an interview on The View that she 'would do [a sequel] in a heartbeat just to play with those guys again." Keep your eyes peeled for more BTS pics—because Blunt teased that her daughters Hazel and Violet might be heading to the set for a visit. Jenna Ortega's Wednesday Season 2 Premiere Dress Stuns
Jenna Ortega is a certified fashion girl! There! Who says? Me, an idiot with a keyboard! So there! Oh, you're not being defensive? Well, I couldn't come up with another introduction, so it's staying! ANYWAY, Jenna has been turning looks lately, from wearing actual glass to referencing a Carrie Bradshaw look. So it's minimally surprising that the 22-year-old just showed up to the London premiere of Wednesday Season 2 wearing one of her best dresses to date: The look is fresh from the Ashi Studio Couture Fall-Winter 2025/26 runway, comprising of a waste corset and latex top and skirt. It was styled by Enrique Melendez. The collection was inspired by a "world in chaos," with a press release noting, "The silhouettes in this collection reflect a range of obsessions and tributes to the past century, an old Paris, the richness of ancient cultures, a sense of decay, or the work of great photographers; yet always touched by contemporaneity." Amid a sea of nude dresses dominating the red carpet over the past decade, it's personally refreshing to see one that pushes the envelope, doesn't appear over hetero-sexualized, and suits the theme of the event (like, spooky). As for the makeup, which notably includes the bleached brows look, its by Melanie Inglessis in partnership with Dior. As for the veeeery long braid, it's done by Cesar Deleon Ramirez. Consider the evolution from Season 1: And here's the rest of the cast, for posterity: An inspiration to short people everywhere!
