The Golden State Warriors battled their way through a tough first-round series, emerging with a hard-earned win over the Houston Rockets. After finishing the regular season with a 48-34 record, the Warriors entered the postseason as the No. 7 seed.
Golden State first eliminated the Memphis Grizzlies in the play-in round, then upset the second-seeded Rockets in a thrilling seven-game series.

Now, the Warriors are turning their focus to the second round, which starts on the road against the sixth-seeded Minnesota Timberwolves.
Before diving into that matchup, the Warriors made headlines for something off the court. The team announced a charitable initiative, pledging $500 for every free throw made during the first round.
"The Dubs have made 92 free throws in the First Round of the 2025 Playoffs, resulting in $46,000 raised for education-focused nonprofits in the Bay thanks to the PG&E Foundation!" the Warriors social media team posted.
The campaign, called "Free Throws For Futures," supports educational nonprofits across the Bay Area and highlights the franchise's ongoing commitment to the local community.

One of the key contributors at the line was Steph Curry. The 37-year-old veteran made 28 of the team's 92 free throws, missing just three during the entire series. Curry also shot 93.3% from the line during the regular season.

Cap expert shares the cost of a potential Warriors trade for Giannis Antetokounmpo

Cap expert shares the cost of a potential Warriors trade for Giannis Antetokounmpo After the Milwaukee Bucks were eliminated from the opening round of the playoffs, for the third consecutive season, Giannis Antetokounmpo is expected to consider his future with the franchise. The Golden State Warriors are just one of the teams expected to have interest in the former MVP, should he request a trade in the coming months. However, according to ESPN's Bobby Marks, who was speaking on a June 3 episode of ESPN's "Get Up," a trade for Giannis will cost Golden State a core member of their rotation. Marks noted how the deal would likely include either Draymond Green or Jimmy Butler, as both stars have a high enough salary to help make the money work. Golden State would also need to include young talents and draft picks. "How it would happen is you're likely trading Jimmy Butler or Draymond Green in a trade," Marks said. "That's how it happens. There's not a scenario where you can fit Giannis and also keep the other three players there." Giannis is a top-five player in the NBA. Therefore, the Warriors would likely accept a high asking price in order to create a new duo of Giannis and Stephen Curry. After all, Golden State's primary goal is to give Curry a shot at another championship before he retires. Adding Giannis would help achieve that. Still, it's worth noting that there's currently no reporting that Giannis wants to leave Milwaukee. And, if that changes, the Warriors will be one of many teams interested in acquiring him ahead of the new season. This post originally appeared on Warriors Wire! Follow us on Facebook and Twitter!

Jason Richardson shared wild Golden State Warriors story

Jason Richardson shared wild Golden State Warriors story Back in 2022, the Golden State Warriors and Portland Trail Blazers had a memorable encounter. The two teams had faced off in a regular-season game when an altercation occurred between Chris Mills and Bonzi Wells. Unfortunately, that altercation is rumored to have continued after the game. During a recent appearance on the "Podcast P with Paul George" podcast, Jason Richardson recalled what occurred after the game had finished. Golden State was the road team in that game, meaning they were scheduled to leave Portland's arena on the team bus. "They blocked the bus from leaving for hours," Richardson said. "... Chris Mills is telling Bonzi to get off the bus. 'Me and you gotta have it.'" Fortunately, the situation didn't end in a negative manner, and eventually, the Warriors were able to leave the arena. However, the story is a good reminder of how different the league was just 20-25 years ago, and the situations players often found themselves in. This is a fun theme. I'd say that a meal of CURRY, TROUT, RICE, and a PLUM would be fairly nutritious. I appreciate that the four theme answers represent four different SPORTS leagues: the NBA, the MLB, the NFL, and the WNBA. And it was a fun choice to clue them all in a parallel fashion, mentioning some of their accomplishments. Thank you, Ryan, for this excellent puzzle.
