Sony is Still Putting Its Faith in ‘Marathon'
Bungie's Marathon is still coming out, and when it does, PlayStation plans on giving the extraction shooter a fair shot.
During a recent investor interview, Sony Interactive Entertainment head Herman Hulst assured the game would come out before March 31, 2026, when Sony's fiscal year ends. Touching on its recent alpha test, he descbied the feedback as 'varied, but super useful. […] The constant testing, the constant re-validation of assumptions that we just talked about, to me is just so valuable to iterate and to constantly improve the title, so when launch comes, we're going to give the title the optimal chance of success.'
Hanging over PlayStation is 2024's sci-fi shooter Concord, which shut down weeks after launch and later led to developer Firewalk Studios closing down. That's been just one of several botched attempts from PlayStation's attempts to enter live-service games, which includes several canceled projects and layoffs across its first-party studios. While acknowledging these 'unique challenges' and attributing Concord's failure to the 'hypercompetitive market' of hero shooters, Hulst talked up how they're avoiding the same mistakes with Marathon.
'It's going to be the first new Bungie title in over a decade, and it's our goal to release a very bold, very innovative, and deeply engaging title. We're monitoring the closed alpha cycle the team has just gone through. We're taking all the lessons learned, we're using the capabilities we've built and analytics and user testing to understand how audiences are engaging with the title.'
One thing Hulst didn't touch on, though, was the recent accusations of art plagiarism levvied against Bungie. In May, artist Fern 'Antireal' Hook released evidence alleging the studio stole assets she made from previous work and failed to credit her. After investigating, Bungie attributed the theft to the work of a former employee, publicly apologized, and said it would do 'everything we can to make this right' with Hook. It also promised to review all in-game assets and replace 'questionably sourced' art with original, in-house work.
With the mention of its arriving before the fiscal year ends, Marathon may be delayed out of its current September 23 launch. At time of writing, Bungie and PlayStation have kept mum on a potential delay, but the game failed to make an appearance at PlayStation's recent State of Play in early June.

7 More Queer Dating Shows I Kissed A Boy Fans Need To Check Out
The second season of the hit dating show I Kissed A Boy may have just concluded with a juicy reunion special, but we're still in the mood for loved this summer. I Kissed a Boy's second saw Dannii Minogue returning to play Cupid for a new group of queer men searching for love – and just like last time, it all started with a smooch. With the show now over for another year, you may well have found yourself in the mood for more dating shows with strong queer representation – and we're happy to report that there are plenty out there that will provide you with all the feels (and, of course, a generous dose of drama). Here are seven more LGBTQ+ dating shows you can get stuck into immediately… When the first series of I Kissed A Boy came to an end in 2023, BBC bosses announced its follow-up would follow 10 queer women looking for love and be called, of course, I Kissed A Girl. Dannii Minogue presents this iteration of the show, too, which sees newly-formed female couples beginning their journey with a kiss, before being encouraged encouraged to explore their new connections in the Italian masseria. Currently there's one season available to watch, but fans will be delighted to hear that a follow-up coming in 2026 was just announced, with internet personality and comedian Charley Marlowe returning to narrate. When it premiered last year, The Boyfriend made TV history as Japan's first-ever same sex dating show – and it's easily one of the most cosy and wholesome dating shows out there. The Netflix series follows nine men who spend one month in a luxury beach house, where they explore their connections with one another, whether that's love or a new friendship. Admittedly, The Boyfriend is probably not to the tastes of those who prefer the action-packed drama that's commonplace in shows like Love Island and Too Hot To Handle, but critics quickly hailed the 10-episode series as a 'groundbreaking' new reality show and 'the best reality series on TV'. The Boyfriend is available to watch on Netflix. The Bi Life premiered in 2018 and follows a group of British bisexual, pansexual and questioning singles, who jet off to Barcelona to find love, all the while trading dating advice with their fellow hopefuls and getting a little help from host Courtney Act. While the standard Love Island format doesn't traditionally allow same-sex couples (with the show's producers having infamous citied 'logistical difficulties' in response to past criticism), The Bi Life opened up new possibilities for its contestants. However, there's no prize fund to be won – only love. The Bi Life is available to watch on Hayu. You might remember back in 2022, the creators behind Love Is Blind announced their new show The Ultimatum: Marry Or Move On, hosted by married couple Nick and Vanessa Lachey. In 2023, Netflix then announced an LGBTQ+ spin-off – with exclusively women and non-binary people – called Queer Love, which tests if couples still wanted to get married after being presented with ultimatums, which has so far run for two seasons. The Ultimatum: Queer Love is available to watch on Netflix. This queer dating show poses a very important question: can a 'daddy' and 'himbo' fall in love? That's the premise behind the show, hosted by Stormy Daniels (!!!), which brings together two groups of gay men at very different phases in their life to see if they can find love. So far, there have been two seasons. For the Love of DILFs is available to watch on Apple TV. This American reality dating show premiered back in 2018 and was hosted by actor and *NSYNC singer Lance Bass. Modelled after The Bachelor, a cast of 13 gay suitors live in a house together with one 'Prince Charming' looking for love. At the end of episodes, a ceremony is hosted where Prince Charming gives black ties to the men he wants to get to know more, while the rest are eliminated. Finding Prince Charming is available to watch on Apple TV. Coming Out For Love premiered in 2023 and, came from the mind of queer filmmaker and writer Nicole Conn. It features 16 women living together and participating in 'emotional and physical challenges' to compete for the heart of the 'keymaster', influencer and activist Amber Whittington. Coming Out For Love is available to watch on YouTube. World's first all open-door large-scale fire test of 5MWh battery system completed
A Chinese energy storage technology firm has completed the world's first all-open-door large-scale fire test of its ∞Block 5MWh battery energy storage system (BESS). The test conducted on Hithium energy storage device offers a high-stakes technical model to inform future product safety standards and set a validation benchmark in this revealed that as thermal runaway and other safety incidents in BESS draw increasing concern, more rigorous and standardized safety testing is urgently needed. The open-door fire test was developed to meet this requirement—featuring four ultimate test challenges that are all open-door combustion, dual 15cm extreme spacing, fire suppression system deactivated, and 100% State of Charge (SOC).The test strictly adhered to UL 9540A, NFPA 855 safety standards and was conducted by UL Solutions, a globally recognized safety certification authority, and witnessed by certified U.S. fire protection engineers and customers. The system structure remained intact, with no fire propagation to any of the three adjacent containers despite undergoing 15 hours of full combustion. This result validates Hithium's multi-layered passive safety architecture and thermal isolation capabilities, even under the most extreme conditions, according to a press revealed that during all open-door combustion, the container doors remained fully open throughout the test, creating an unrestrained combustion environment with intensified oxygen flow—far more severe than traditional closed-door the dual 15cm extreme spacing test, the BESS were placed side by side and back to back with just 15cm spacing. Despite flames over 1300°C, no thermal propagation occurred, proving effective close-range isolation. In one of the tests, all fire suppression systems were deactivated. The system relied solely on passive fire protection to withstand prolonged intense fire, demonstrating autonomous fire resistance and BESS was tested at full capacity to maximize thermal energy release, validating the system's reliability and stability under the harshest conditions. Hithium stressed that the latest achievement highlights HiTHIUM's commitment to innovation and quality, providing valuable insights for future safety standards in the industry. "Moving forward, Hithium will continue to advance safety performance through technology leadership and global collaboration, driving the industry toward a safer and more reliable future," said the company in a statement. Industry experts hailed the trial as a 'qualitative leap' in energy storage fire safety testing, significantly increasing difficulty across fire dynamics, spatial constraints, charge state, and response conditions. The results not only enhance the credibility of safety claims but offer a replicable framework for establishing more practical, real-world safety benchmarks, reported PV Magazine. Hithium ranked 4th globally in energy storage battery shipments in 2024, delivering 35.1 GWh, according to Infolink's latest market data.

There Are New Reports On Taylor Swift's Relationship With Travis Kelce After Her "Demanding" And "Packed" Work Schedule
Taylor Swift is enjoying her time off after finishing her record-breaking Eras Tour last year. The tour launched in 2023 and made history as the highest-grossing tour ever with over $2 billion in ticket sales. It was comprised of 149 shows and took Taylor all across the globe, from the US and Canada to Asia and Latin America, before concluding in December. Since then, she's been spending quality time with Travis Kelce, whom she began dating in 2023, and as the upcoming NFL season approaches, sources say she's also looking forward to supporting him on the sidelines. A source tells People, "Taylor is really looking forward to the upcoming NFL season. Not just because she loves supporting Travis, but because for the first full season since they started dating, she's not juggling a packed tour schedule." But, as the source said, it was challenging. And now that the tour is over, the source said Taylor is "genuinely excited to have the time and flexibility to show up for Travis more consistently." "This fall will be completely different," the source continued. "Taylor plans to be at as many of his games as possible. They've both had such demanding schedules for so long, so having this stretch of time where things aren't quite as chaotic feels like a welcome change." The source added that it's also "a chance for them to settle into more of a routine" and that Taylor and Travis are "both really happy about that." Aww! Can't wait to see her at the games! (Let's just hope the crowds are a little nicer this time.) BuzzFeed has contacted reps for Taylor and Travis for comment on the report.
