Stall Name: Saiyaara. Menu: Veg Biryani. And Internet's Take? ‘Yahi Dekhna Reh Gaya Tha'
Directed by Mohit Suri, Saiyaara features debutants Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda.
Saiyaara has taken over the country and its emotional storyline seems to have struck a chord with fans. While the film continues to shine, something unexpected has now joined the celebration. A street food stall with a Saiyaara twist.
The movie's popularity is not just limited to theatres. Several videos showing people reacting emotionally in cinemas are doing rounds on the internet. One clip shows a man watching the film with an IV drip still attached to his hand. In another, a young boy is seen breaking down during a scene featuring Ahaan and Aneet's chemistry. But now, Saiyaara's name has made its way from the big screen to the local food scene.
'Saiyaara Veg Biryani'
A video shows a street vendor who named his biryani stall after the film. According to the video, the stall is located in Lucknow's Dandaiya market. What is grabbing everyone's attention is not just the name but also the way it is presented. The board displays the word Saiyaara in the exact same font as the film's title design.
It also shows customers gathered around the stall to get a taste of this unique biryani served with extra emotions (just saying).
Another said, 'Bhai viral hone ke liye Saiyaara likh diya hai (Bro just wrote Saiyaara to go viral)."
'Yahi dekhna reh gaya tha (This was the only thing left to see)," someone remarked while a person said, 'Biryani khate hi emotional ho jane ki guarantee (Emotional breakdown guaranteed after eating this biryani)."
'Ye kya beemari hai (What kind of sickness is this)," a viewer wrote while a person added, 'Heights of pagalpanti. Here's a clap for this man. Ek award to banta hai (This is peak craziness. Here's a clap for this man. He definitely deserves an award)."
'Esko bolte hai master mind (This is what you call a mastermind)," 'Saiyaara paglu" and 'Saiyaara virus" were some other remarks.
Saiyaara Or Not, Veg Biryani Remains Controversial
While many were busy reacting to the Saiyaara branding, a few couldn't get over the idea of 'veg biryani" itself. The age-old debate made its way here as well.
An individual declared, 'Veg biryani naam ki koi chiz nahi hoti (There's no such thing as veg biryani)," while another added, 'Veg biryani hoti he nahi hai. Please logo ko bewakoof mat banao (Veg biryani doesn't even exist. Please don't fool people)."
Saiyaara has earned close to Rs 300 crore at the box office so far. Directed by Mohit Suri, the film features debutants Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda.

Dhadak 2 box office collection Day 4: Janhvi Kapoor's debut made three times as much as Tripti Dimri-Siddhant Chaturvedi's sequel in the same time frame
Dhadak 2 box office collection Day 4: Despite receiving good reviews from critics, Siddhant Chaturvedi and Triptii Dimri's new film, Dhadak 2, is failing to maintain momentum at the box office. After an underwhelming opening on Friday, the film saw a minor increase in collections over the weekend. However, it failed to pass the Monday litmus test, dropping by over 66 percent. According to industry tracker Sacnilk, the film minted Rs 3.5 crore on Friday and witnessed a 7% and 10% increase on Saturday and Sunday, respectively — earning Rs 3.75 crore and Rs 4.15 crore. On Monday, the film saw a steep fall of 66%, earning only Rs 1.4 crore. This brings Dhadak 2's total domestic collection to Rs 12.8 crore. On Monday, the film registered a very low 14.26% Hindi occupancy. Major cities like Mumbai, Bengaluru, and the NCR — which also have the maximum number of screens — recorded low occupancy of around 15%. Dhadak 2 was released in theatres alongside Ajay Devgn and Mrunal Thakur's Son of Sardaar 2. Despite receiving mixed reviews from critics, the film has managed to perform decently and has earned Rs 27.25 crore within four days of release — more than double the Rs 12.8 crore earned by Dhadak 2 in the same time frame. Co-produced by Karan Johar, Dhadak 2 is the spiritual sequel to the 2018 film Dhadak, which marked the Bollywood debut of Janhvi Kapoor and Ishaan Khatter. The Siddhant and Triptii-starrer has lagged behind its predecessor. Within four days of its release, Dhadak had managed to mint Rs 39.19 crore — three times the amount Dhadak 2 has earned in the same duration. Mohit Suri's surprise blockbuster Saiyaara, now in its third weekend, is still managing to give stiff competition to new releases. On its third Monday, Saiyaara earned Rs 2.5 crore — higher than Dhadak 2's Monday figure of Rs 1.4 crore. Filmmaker Anurag Kashyap recently took to Instagram to hail the film. He compared it to the cinema created by stalwarts like Raj Kapoor, Guru Dutt, Yash Chopra, and others, calling it 'a punch in the gut.' A part of his post read, 'The film captures the conversation that we avoid on a day to day basis. This is what mainstream cinema was meant to be, and this is what great filmmakers like Raj Kapoor, Bimal Roy, Guru Dutt, K A Abbas, B R Chopra, Yash Chopra and so many used to do. We forgot to make mainstream films of social relevance. They got relegated to independent art house cinema.'

Son of Sardaar 2 box office collection day 4: Ajay Devgn's comedy earns Rs 27 cr; Raid 2 made more in just two days
Vijay Kumar Arora, the director of Son of Sardaar 2, recently won a National Award for the Best Punjabi Film for his 2023 comedy Godday Godday Cha. But his latest film is struggling at the domestic box office, despite being a Hindi tentpole starring Ajay Devgn and the sequel of the actor's 2012 blockbuster comedy. On its first Monday, Son of Sardaar 2 saw a massive drop and earned only Rs 2.5 crore. It was a significant decline from its already low Sunday collection of Rs 9.25 crore, a slight improvement on its Saturday earnings of Rs 8.25 crore, another marginal increase from its opening day (Friday) collection of Rs 7.25 crore. As per industry Sacnilk, the current box office collection of Son of Sardaar 2 in India stands at Rs 27.25 crore. This pales in comparison to the extended opening weekend earnings of Devgn's last release, Raj Kumar Gupta's crime thriller Raid 2, another sequel. Raid 2 earned more in two days than what Son of Sardaar 2 could in four days. The first four-day collection of the former was Rs 71.25 crore. Not just Raid 2, but Son of Sardaar 2 can't even hold its own in front of other holdover Hindi releases. It earned even less than Mohit Suri's romantic drama Saiyaara, starring newcomers Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda, which collected Rs 2.5 crore on its third Monday (day 18) at the domestic box office. Similarly, on its second Monday, Ashwin Kumar's mythological animated film Mahavatar Narsimha earned Rs 8 crore. more than thrice of what Son of Sardaar 2 did on the same day. The only Hindi film Devgn's comedy could surpass was Shazia Iqbal's romantic drama Dhadak 2, another sequel, to Shashank Khaitan's 2018 hit Dhadak. The sequel, starring Siddhant Chaturvedi and Triptii Dimri, earned only Rs 1.4 crore on its first Monday, its first four-day collection rounding off to Rs 13 crore, less than half of that of Son of Sardaar 2. While Son of Sardaar 2 will face fresh competition from another comedy, Umesh Shukla's Heer Express, starting this Friday, it needs to do something out of the box to sustain, let alone increase, its momentum. Even tempting offers like 50% discount and 'buy one, get one' on tickets could help neither this film nor Dhadak 2, thanks to the Saiyaara and Mahavatar Narsimha wave. The story revolved around Jaswinder 'Jassi' Singh Randhawa (Devgn), who returns to his village in Punjab after spending years in London to sell ancestral property, after which things take an unexpected turn. The film emerged as a box office hit and grossed Rs 161.48 crore with its worldwide collection. The sequel also stars Mrunal Thakur, Vindu Dara Singh, Deepak Dobriyal, Sanjay Mishra, and Kubbra Sait among others.
