The film is slated to hit the screens on July 18 and it promises to set the box office on fire. According to Rohit Jaiswal, a trade analyst and critic, the romantic thriller is expected to earn Rs 24 crore in India on the first day. 'Saiyaara has created a buzz. Given the Rs 36 crore budget, it is a blockbuster in the making. The day 1 collection will be around Rs 24 crore,' he told Indiatimes. If this is indeed the case, Saiyaara will outperform films such as Mohit Suri's Ek Villain Returns (Rs 7 crore), Anurag Basu's Metro In Dino (Rs 4 crore) and the Kajol-led Maa (~Rs 5 crore). It will, however, not be able to outperform Sikandar (Rs 30 crore) and the Vicky Kaushal-fronted Chhavaa (Rs 33 crore). What trade says about Saiyaara Sayaara has taken many in the trade circles by surprise with its advance bookings. According to Variety, it has broken advance booking records for a film with a debutant hero in India, selling over 45,000 tickets across major theater chains in its first 24 hours of pre-sales. This figure reflects the initial response in PVR Inox and Cinepolis, which account for over 60% of a Hindi film's revenue. Factors influencing Saiyaara's box office Success Saiyaara has taken the trade circles by storm because of the way Ahaan and Aneet have been projected onscreen. ' Ahaan has been showcased brilliantly so far and Aneet is a craze among the youth. Also, the audience was craving for a proper romantic thriller with some erotic elements. This fulfills the need,'said Jaiswal. He also added that songs such as Barbaad and Humsafar have clicked with the youth. Moreover, he emphasised that Mohit Suri has a strong connection with the audience because of his fast-paced brand of storytelling Saiyaara Cast and plot explored Saiyaara centres on Krish Kapoor, an emerging musician who is unable to accept the harsh realities of the industry. His world is turned upside down when he meets Vaani, a talented songwriter. They soon fall in love, resulting in a relationship that is complicated yet beautiful. Saiyaara features Ahaan Panday, Chunky Panday's nephew, in the lead. He is joined by Aneet Padda, best known for her work in Prime Video's Big Girls Don't Cry.

CBFC cuts 10 seconds of intimate scenes in Saiyaara, angry netizens ask, ‘was Housefull 5 sanskari?'
The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) is facing fresh backlash after it trimmed 10 seconds of intimate content from the upcoming film Saiyaara. The move has ignited a wave of criticism online, with many questioning the board's selective censorship practices. Social media users are drawing ironic comparisons to films like Housefull 5, mocking the idea that such movies might better align with the CBFC's so-called 'sanskari' values. CBFC cuts 10 seconds of intimate scenes in Saiyaara and the internet is disappointed According to a report by Bollywood Hungama, Mohit Suri and team was instructed to remove certain 'objectionable' words and substitute them with more 'suitable' alternatives in four instances. Additionally, a 10-second sequence featuring 'sensual, intimate, and body exposure visuals' has reportedly been cut. The CBFC also directed the makers to add a static helmet safety warning in all scenes showing two-wheeler vehicles. The internet asks, was Housefull 5 sanskari? As soon as the news surfaced, it quickly made its way to Reddit, where users questioned the logic behind the CBFC's decision to cut a 10-second intimate scene while simultaneously approving a film like Housefull 5, widely criticized for its crass humor and barrage of double entendre jokes. One wrote, 'And the obscene content that were forced upon us in the worst movie of the year, Housefull 5.' Another added, 'But we were fed Animal & Housefull 5 without any complaints.' Saiyaara release date Scheduled for a theatrical release on July 18, Saiyaara offers an intense narrative rooted in themes of love, identity, and emotional complexity. Directed by Mohit Suri, the film features newcomers Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda in the lead roles.

Ahaan Panday Wasn't Cast For Saiyaara Based On Audition, Says Mohit Suri: 'After A Couple Of Drinks...'
Mohit Suri reveals Ahaan Panday's audition for Saiyaara didn't impress him, but a night out changed everything. 'He was standing on the bar—that's when I saw him,' says Suri. News18 Director Mohit Suri, who famously launched Shraddha Kapoor and Aditya Roy Kapur with Aashiqui 2, is returning to his romantic roots with Saiyaara—a film that almost had a very different trajectory. The film, which marks the debut of Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda, was originally conceptualised with stars in mind. But in a recent podcast interview with Cyrus Broacha, Suri revealed how a pivotal conversation with YRF boss Aditya Chopra completely changed the film's course. 'Aditya sir asked me, 'Why aren't you looking at new actors for this?' I told him I didn't think it would be feasible," Suri said. 'But he said this film should only be made with fresh faces." Encouraged by Chopra's vision, Suri began auditioning newcomers. However, Ahaan Panday's first impression didn't quite blow him away. 'I auditioned a lot of people for Saiyaara. Honestly, I didn't really care much about Ahaan's audition," Suri admitted. 'There was something about the guy, though. I thought, 'Let's go out for dinner.' So, he takes me to this formal place and he's really behaving himself…" Still not convinced, Suri decided to dig deeper. 'I get him a couple of drinks down, and then he's taken me to some place in South Bombay with all these kids. And then I see the real Ahaan Panday. He's standing on the bar, dancing. And I'm like, 'This is the guy I want for my film.' That's the audition that got him selected." Speaking about the casting process in general, Suri reflected, 'It's not always related to your talent, or how well you did the shot. It's just what the director is looking for that day." Set to release this Friday, Saiyaara is being described by Suri as 'an old-school romantic drama that isn't made often these days." Despite starring fresh faces, the film is already tracking strongly at the box office. With advance bookings crossing Rs 4 crore, Saiyaara is projected to open in double digits—a rare feat for a debut-led film. For comparison, Loveyapa managed to collect Rs 10 crore in its entire run, while Aankhon Ki Gustaakhiyan hasn't even crossed the Rs 5 crore mark. Backed by Yash Raj Films and helmed by a director who knows how to craft emotion-packed romances, Saiyaara might just be the surprise hit of the season. Box Office: Saiyaara set to score the second biggest advance booking of 2025; Could challenge Chhaava too
The Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda led Saiyaara is headed for a historic start at the box office in India, as the Mohit Suri directorial has surpassed all expectations in its advance booking. With 12 hours to go, the romantic saga produced by Aditya Chopra has already sold more than 1,20,000 tickets in the top 3 national chains, and is fast racing towards the 2,00,000-ticket mark in PVRInox and Cinepolis. These bookings have come for a non-holiday release, without the official packaging of a 'franchise', though the surrogate connection with Aashiqui franchise has definitely created more than usual conversation around the film, translating into sales too. The film is headed to score the second biggest advance booking of 2025 leaving behind star-driven vehicles like Sikandar (1,43,000 tickets), Housefull 5 (94,750 tickets), Raid 2 (93,000 tickets), and Sitaare Zameen Par (49,750 tickets). In-fact, the film also has a shot at scoring the #1 advance booking of 2025 as the final pre-sale of Chhaava (2,23,000 tickets) is also in its reach. The advance booking is at another level, and the film is looking to clock the biggest opening (in real value) for a newcomer film since Kaho Na Pyaar Hai and Refugee, both of which released in 2000. The intrigue created around the two fresh faces is also a smart strategy opted for by the team at YRF, as the audience is paying to discover the talents on the big screen, rather than the Instagram reels. There is an offer running around, but it appears that the film is beyond all offers, and there is genuine organic on-ground hype which is driving the pre-sales in India. The advance booking is strong all across the board – from Rajhans, MovieMax and Miraj – to single screens like Sanjay Cineplex, Roopbani Cinemas, and Shree Agra among others. The advances for Saiyaara will be more than twice of much bigger romantic films like Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani and Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar. Saiyaara will be looking to open around the Rs 15.00 crore to Rs 20.00 crore mark, and if the capacity permits, there is a possibility to go higher as well, as the film has now become an unstoppable force as far as audience interest is concerned. The advances are good in the international markets too, as the film has a good shot at scoring USD 1 million plus in the opening weekend, which is a great result for a non-star film. There is hype and anticipation al across, and the work has been done by the music and theatrical trailer, as both of the aspects are indicative of a well-made Mohit Suri film. The brand value of director has also played a big role in driving the start, as non-star cast films directed by Suri have done well in the past too. All eyes on the opening day now. Stay tuned to Pinkvilla for more updates!

As per a Bollywood Hungama report, the filmmaker was asked to censor 'objectionable' words and replace them with 'appropriate' words in four places. Reportedly, a 10-second scene of 'sensual, intimacy, body exposure visuals' has been deleted.
