Mohit Suri was also asked to censor certain curse words and replace them with 'appropriate' words.
Mohit Suri is all set to launch Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda in his upcoming film, Saiyaara. The film has been given a U/A 16+ certificate by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) after making certain changes, including replacing curse words, cutting some intimate scenes, and adding warnings.
As per a Bollywood Hungama report, the filmmaker was asked to censor 'objectionable' words and replace them with 'appropriate' words in four places. Reportedly, a 10-second scene of 'sensual, intimacy, body exposure visuals' has been deleted.
Additionally, the makers have been asked to include a static warning about helmet safety in scenes involving two-wheeler vehicles. The film was granted certification once these edits were made. The total run time of Saiyaara after these edits is now 2 hours, 36 minutes and 50 seconds.
Mohit Suri's Saiyaara is ready to release in theatres this week, starring two debutants, Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda. Fans have been eagerly awaiting the release, and the trailer has just fuelled their excitement. The advance ticket sales for the film have begun, and the movie has received an overwhelming response from the audience. The response to the early ticket sales has reportedly suggested that Saiyaara can perform exceptionally well at the box office.
A Pinkvilla report recently stated that the movie appears to be breaking even fairly in its first two to three days. The film has recovered 75 per cent of its costs, with the remaining 25 per cent, totalling Rs 15 crore, will be recovered once the movie grosses Rs 37-40 crore internationally.
The highly anticipated romance drama marks the first collaboration between Yash Raj Films and Mohit Suri. Saiyaara has already released chart-topping singles such as Faheem-Arslan's Saiyaara title track, Jubin Nautiyal's Barbaad, Vishal Mishra's Tum Ho Toh, Sachet-Parampara's Humsafar, and Arijit Singh & Mithoon's Dhun. Saiyaara, set to be released in theatres on July 18, promises a passionate story based on love, identity, and emotional depth. With the release date coming closer, all eyes are on Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda as they prepare for their big screen debuts under YRF's banner.

Saiyaara director Mohit Suri thanks Sandeep Reddy Vanga for ‘being the first one to openly support' his film

Mohit Suri may have directed one of the most successful romantic films in recent memory with Saiyaara, but he's a self-proclaimed fan of another filmmaker. Suri recently expressed his admiration of Sandeep Reddy Vanga, best known for helming Arjun Reddy (2017), its Hindi remake Kabir Singh (2019), and most recently, Ranbir Kapoor-starrer 2023 blockbuster Animal. Suri took to social media on Thursday and shared a note of gratitude for Vanga. 'Sandeep, @imvangasandeep thank you for being the first one to openly support and express your generous belief in Saiyaara. It meant the world coming from a filmmaker whose craft I deeply admire. I've always respected the raw emotion, fearlessness and intensity you bring to your stories. It reminds me why we do what we do to move people, to connect. Grateful to walk this path alongside storytellers like you. Here's to more powerful cinema and always a fan,' wrote the filmmaker. On July 9, Sandeep Reddy Vanga had shared the Saiyaara trailer on social media along with the caption, 'Witnessing a hindi heartland love story completely emphasizing on romance and drama. Waiting to watch it on the first day. Wishing the debutants all the very best :-) It's purely Mohith suri's Magic.' Mohit Suri had replied in the comments section of the post, writing 'Thank you so much sir ! Means a lot #saiyaara.' Saiyaara is an intense love story of a young couple, played by Ahaan Panday, who makes his acting debut, and Aneet Padda, known for featuring in web series Big Girls Don't Cry and the Kajol-starrer Salaam Venky. The movie is backed by Aditya Chopra's Yash Raj Films. The romance also stars Geeta Agarwal, Rajesh Kumar, Varun Badola and Shaad Randhawa in key roles. The film has breached Rs 150 crore mark at the domestic box office within six days of release. It earned Rs 22 crore on Wednesday, which took its box office score to Rs 155.75 crore. Saiyaara's impressive opening weekend run of Rs 84 crore at the box office has beat lifetime collection of other debuts of star kids like Alia Bhatt and Varun Dhawan's Student of the Year (2012) and Jahnvi Kapoor and Ishaan Khattar's Dhadak (2018), which earned Rs 70 crore and Rs 73 crore, respectively. The film is the first and only romance movie to gross over Rs 100 crore in its opening weekend. Yash Raj Films have requested exhibitors to not hike ticket prices in order to keep them accessible for the youth supporting the film.

Metro In Dino 3 Weeks India Box Office: Anurag Basu's movie gradually moves towards Rs 50 crore net club after poor start

Metro... In Dino, directed by Anurag Basu and starring Ali Fazal, Aditya Roy Kapur, Sara Ali Khan, Fatima Sana Shaikh, Nina Gupta, Anupam Kher, Pankaj Tripathi, Konkona Sen Sharma and others, has ended its 3rd week at the Indian box office on a slow but steady note, as has been the case for the film throughout its run. After a slow Rs 3.25 crore net start, it seemed as though there will be no way the movie will be able to manage even decent numbers. Dino Did Well To Hold Its Own Amidst Competition With Jurassic World: Rebirth and F1 doing the business that they were, and with Superman and a couple of other reasonably sized Bollywood films like Maalik and Aankhon Ki Gustaakhiyan hitting theatres immediate after, it looked like the movie would get completely sandwiched by its competition. That however didn't happen to be the case as Dino stood its ground, week after week. It netted Rs 25.45 crore in week 1 and dropped by less than 40 percent in week 2, as it collected Rs 16.25 crore. In week 3, the movie has added Rs 6.65 crore. These are excellent numbers considering that blockbuster Saiyaara hit the screens in this week. The Day Wise Net India Collections Of Dino Are As Under Particulars India Net Collection Week 1 Rs 25.45 crore Week 2 Rs 16.25 crore 3rd Friday Rs 1 crore 3rd Saturday Rs 1.70 crore 3rd Sunday Rs 2 crore 3rd Monday Rs 50 lakh 3rd Tuesday Rs 60 lakh 3rd Wednesday Rs 45 lakh 3rd Thursday Rs 40 lakh Total Rs 48.35 crore in 3 weeks Dino Looks To End Its India Run Netting Rs 55 Crore With Rs 48.35 crore net after 3 weeks, the musical romance is just inches away from the Rs 50 crore mark. It is likely to end its run in the vicinity of Rs 55 crore net (Rs 66 crore gross). The overseas collections are expected to end at an above-expected USD 1.4 million (12 crore gross), meaning that the movie will end up with a gross total of Rs 78 crore. This is not a solid or even a good number. But it shall be looked at respectfully since it opened to numbers where even a Rs 40 crore worldwide looked like a distant dream. Dino May Barely Breakeven BUT... Due to high production costs, the movie may just about breakeven at the box office. Had the costs been managed well, this could have been a profitable movie. All is not lost as T-series stands to gain big from the film's music. The music of Dino is a bonafied hit. Dino In Theatres Dino still plays in select theatres across the globe. Stay tuned to Pinkvilla for more updates.

Box Office: Ahaan Panday-Aneet Padda join Rishi Kapoor, Dimple Kapadia, Kamal Haasan, Salman Khan and Hrithik Roshan among biggest newcomers of all time

Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda's debut film, Saiyaara, turned out to be a sensation at the box office. The movie is not only recording solid traction in cinemas but has also received immense love from the audience. Interestingly, this kind of response to a newcomer's movie isn't that usual. With such a blockbuster theatrical turn-around, Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda have joined the list of the elites —Rishi Kapoor, Dimple Kapadia, Salman Khan, Kamal Haasan, and Hrithik Roshan, who registered historic footfalls with their debut films. While Rishi Kapoor and Dimple Kapadia made their debut with Bobby in 1973, Kamal Haasan entered the Hindi cinema with Ek Duuje Ke Liye in 1981. Both movies opened to widespread appreciation and turned out to be huge successes. Further, in 1983, Sunny Deol made his debut with Betaab, while Jackie Shroff entered the industry with Hero. However, it was Salman Khan 's debut as a leading man in Maine Pyaar Kiya (1989), which turned out to be the debut of the decade. The Sooraj Barjatya directorial witnessed an unprecedented run at the box office and emerged as a landmark film in the history of Indian cinema. Ajay Devgn's debut with Phool Aur Kaante in 1991 was also very successful, with him turning into an overnight star. Later, it was Hrithik Roshan's debut in 2000 with Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai, which not only took over the nation but also emerged as a massive blockbuster. Interestingly, there were only 7 newcomer movies that received unprecedented success at the box office, and Saiyaara is set to join the list as the latest entrant. Other than Phool Aur Kaante, all of these movies are love stories with great music that transcend through generations. The Ajay Devgn starrer was an action drama, but it also had a crucial romantic track and is still known for its evergreen soundtracks. Moreover, the first seven movies of the list came in the preceding 30 years, while it took 25 years for a newcomer movie like Saiyaara to see such a nationwide craze. Bobby (1973) Ek Duuje Ke Liye (1981) Betaab (1983) Hero (1983) Maine Pyaar Kiya (1989) Phool Aur Kaante (1991) Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai (2000) Saiyaara (2025) Stay tuned to Pinkvilla for more updates.
