Divya Dutta On Staying Single: 'There's A Lot Of Male Attention Coming My Way But...'
Last Updated:
Divya Dutta opens up about choosing not to marry, embracing self-love and companionship, and talks future projects Nastik and Netflix hit Chhaava.
While Bollywood often celebrates fairytale weddings, some stars are choosing a different path—one of independence and self-assurance. Among them is acclaimed actor Divya Dutta, who recently opened up about why she's comfortable not getting married and how she views companionship in a more meaningful light.
In a heartfelt interview with Hindi Rush, Divya shared her personal stance on marriage and the kind of relationship she truly values. 'If you find a good partner, it's great to be married. If not, life moves on beautifully. It's better to nurture yourself than stay in a dysfunctional marriage. Rather than lowering yourself in a relationship, it's better to love yourself. There's a lot of male attention coming my way and I enjoy that, but a relationship should happen when you connect. You feel that the person can hold your hand. If that isn't there, I have many lovely friends around me, and I am there for myself."
Making it clear that she's not seeking marriage, Divya added, 'I don't want to get married, but I would love to have a companion with whom I can travel. And if not, then I'm still happy. You know, my best friend sent me a quote — a person asks, 'Why are you single? You are beautiful, attractive, caring,' and I say, 'I think I'm overqualified.' There comes a time when you look for completeness outside, which is not necessary. It's not necessary that you'll only be complete when a good partner enters your life. I used to have that misconception. I used to wear my heart on my sleeve — but not anymore."
Professionally, Divya continues to soar. She was last seen in the historical drama Chhaava, where she shared the screen with Vicky Kaushal, Rashmika Mandanna, and Akshaye Khanna. The film, directed by Laxman Utekar, was a major commercial success, earning Rs 807.88 crore globally. It's currently available to stream on Netflix.
Looking ahead, Divya will star in the upcoming film Nastik, alongside Arjun Rampal. Directed by Shailesh Verma, the film also features Ihana Dhillon and Harshaali Malhotra. The official release date has not been announced yet.

‘Aamir Khan, Akshay Kumar work on an 8-hour shift too,' says Kabir Khan defending Deepika Padukone amid Spirit controversy
Deepika Padukone's reported feud with Sandeep Reddy Vanga over her demand for an 8-hour workday made headlines recently. Since then, several people from the film industry have come out in support of the actor. Now, director Kabir Khan, who is also a friend of Deepika, has defended her. He also revealed that even male actors, including Aamir Khan and Akshay Kumar, work on an 8-hour shift. In an interview with Movified, Kabir spoke about the need for proper working hours in the film industry, citing mental health and better efficiency. 'I work with 500 crew members who each have families and their own lives. Their well‑being matters, not just for efficiency, but for their mental health,' he said. While defending Deepika's demands, Kabir added, 'It's a fair point. Aamir Khan works on an 8‑hour shift. Akshay Kumar too. So I don't see why Deepika should be denied the same. If a filmmaker doesn't agree, they should have a valid reason. It's that simple.' According to him, work should have a structure. Kabir revealed that he himself has never shot more than 12 hours, never worked overtime, and never worked on Sundays. 'These are basic rules,' he asserted. When asked about Deepika Padukone's reported fee demand of Rs 25 crore, Kabir Khan said that remuneration should align with audience appeal and box office draw, noting that she attracts huge crowds to theatres. 'Whoever brings in the viewers, whether an actor, director, man or woman… they deserve to be paid what they're worth,' he said. On the professional front, Deepika was last seen in Rohit Shetty's Singham Again. She has Atlee and Allu Arjun's next AA22 X A6 in her kitty. The announcement video hinted that she will play the role of a warrior princess in the film.

Netflix's latest update has fans rethinking their subscriptions: Here's why
Netflix users have been left confused and frustrated after the streaming service rolled out a major update to its interface. The redesigned app, which began gradually launching worldwide on May 19, introduced noticeable changes to the layout and navigation, catching many subscribers off guard as they logged in this week. Also Read: Carnival Cruise bans several passengers after onboard brawl: Here's what went down Netflix has been promoting its new design as a path to bring forward 'better recommendations and an improved interface that highlights what matters most to you". The streaming service insists that the new interface will result in a 'clean and modern' look for viewers, along with personalized suggestions and shortcuts leading to more apt recommendations for subscribers, as reported by the Manchester Evening News. However, a significant number of Netflix's 300 million subscribers have taken to social media to voice their dissatisfaction with the new interface, with some even threatening to cancel their subscriptions in protest, as reported by The Mirror. The backlash has sparked the launch of a petition, where frustrated users are calling on the streaming giant to revert to its previous layout. The petition's description strongly criticizes the redesign. The petition read, 'The new layout only allows users to see a sparse selection of 3 or 4 titles per screen, compared to the previously user-friendly layout of 20 or more titles. This change not only limits variety and accessibility but also diminishes the ease-of-use Netflix was renowned for." Eunice Kim, who is the chief product officer of Netflix, explained the redesign in May. She said, 'We wanted to create an experience that was more flexible for our broad entertainment offerings, more intuitive and responsive to our members' needs, and capable of elevating the most thrilling moments on Netflix.'
