Dassault Aviation vs AVIC Chengdu Aircraft: Rafale or Jet-10? Which stock is better in global markets today?
The recent military escalation between India and Pakistan, particularly following the Indian armed forces' Operation Sindoor, has heightened investor interest in France's Dassault Aviation shares and China's AVIC Chengdu Aircraft shares.
India launched Operation Sindoor on May 7, during which the Indian Air Force (IAF) reportedly deployed Rafale jets to strike terrorist camps deep inside Pakistani territory, utilizing SCALP and HAMMER missiles. Dassault Aviation is the manufacturer of the Rafale fighter jets.
Conversely, Pakistan's Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar confirmed that the Pakistan Air Force responded using J-10 fighter jets, manufactured by AVIC Chengdu Aircraft.
Dassault Aviation share price has rallied over 3% in the past four sessions, buoyed by a surge in investor sentiment following Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to the Adampur Air Base. Backed by an S-400 missile defence system, Modi lauded the successful execution of Operation Sindoor, sending a strong message to Pakistan.
In contrast, AVIC Chengdu shares have declined over 10% during the same period, as geopolitical tensions and increased uncertainty weighed on Chinese defence stocks after PM Modi's remarks.
Year-to-date in 2025, Dassault Aviation shares have delivered an impressive 57% return, supported by robust investor confidence and growing exports of Rafale jets.
'India and France recently signed a major defence deal to procure 26 naval variants of the Rafale fighter. Whereas, AVIC Chengdu, part of China's AVIC conglomerate has also given high returns post its listing with gains of more than 30% from listing rate while, in recent days the stock has been volatile due to geopolitical tensions and misinformation, due to which Chinese stocks faced sell-off,' said Dr. Ravi Singh, SVP - Retail Research at Religare Broking Ltd.
For investors seeking exposure to the global defence sector, Singh notes that Dassault Aviation shares currently appear to be the more attractive option, considering the prevailing circumstances.
From a technical standpoint, Dassault Aviation shares demonstrate clear relative strength compared to AVIC Chengdu, analysts said.
'While Chengdu share price remains in consolidation, Dassault stock is already showing strong momentum. A breakout above €316 will likely act as a trigger, propelling the stock toward the €375 level. Given the setup, Dassault presents a more favorable risk-reward profile for long trades at this stage,' said Anshul Jain, Head of Research at Lakshmishree Investment and Securities.
Jain added that until clearer signals emerge from AVIC Chengdu, traders with a bullish view should consider prioritizing Dassault Aviation shares.

Axiom-4 mission carrying Indian astronaut Shukla to International Space Station postponed to June 10
Axiom Space's mission to the International Space Station (ISS), carrying Indian astronaut Shubhanshu Shukla and three others, has been postponed to June 10 at 5:52 pm IST, onboard SpaceX's Falcon-9 rocket from the Kennedy Space Centre in Florida. The announcement was made during a virtual press conference with the Axiom-4 mission crew members, who are currently in quarantine before their travel to the ISS. The spaceflight was originally scheduled for May 29 and then rescheduled to June 8. "We will have one with an Indian VVIP," Shukla said to a question on interaction with the prime minister from space. Mr. Shukla said the Ax-4 crew will interact with school students, educators and members of the Indian space industry. "For the people of India: This mission is a milestone and I request India to pray for the success of the mission. Even stars are attainable, Jai Hind,' Mr. Shukla said. Mr. Shukla said he would be carrying Indian delicacies such as mango nectar, moong dal halwa and carrot halwa on the space flight. Besides Mr. Shukla, the mission pilot for the Axiom-4 mission, the other crew include Slawosz Uznanski-Wisniewski from Poland and Tibor Kapu from Hungary, marking both European nations' first travel to the International Space Station in history and the second government-sponsored human spaceflight mission in over 40 years. Once docked, the astronauts plan to spend up to 14 days aboard the orbiting laboratory, conducting science, outreach, and commercial activities. The Ax-4 astronauts will perform around 60 scientific studies and activities representing 31 countries during their 14-day stay at the ISS. Mr. Shukla is set to conduct exclusive food and nutrition-related experiments developed under a collaboration between the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) and the Department of Biotechnology (DBT), with support from NASA. The experiments aim to pioneer space nutrition and self-sustaining life support systems, vital for future long-duration space travel. ISRO has lined up a set of seven experiments for Shukla, who will also participate in five joint studies planned by NASA for its human research programme. It has drawn up plans to focus on India-centric food for carrying out experiments on the ISS, including sprouting methi (Fenugreek) and moong (green gram) in microgravity conditions.

PM Modi will inaugurate Vande Bharat train service from Katra to Srinagar on June 6
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will flag off the first Vande Bharat train service to Kashmir on June 6, railway officials said on Tuesday (June 3, 2025). While earlier the plan was to inaugurate the 272-km Udhampur - Srinagar - Baramulla Rail Link (USBRL) project on April 19, the programme got deferred due to unsuitable weather conditions. The Pahalgam attack on April 22 led to further deferment of the inauguration. Prior to the terror attack, Mr. Modi was set to travel to Srinagar for the inauguration. Now, he will flag off the train from Katra on Jammu side, officials said. The Vande Bharat train journey from Katra to Srinagar will reduce the travel time to merely three hours. 'Currently the road route takes at least six to seven hours,' railway officials said. Currently railway services are operational between Barammulla - Srinagar to Sangaldan in the Kashmir valley. 'Now that Sangaldan has been connected to Katra in Jammu via rail, trains can run between the whole stretch,' officials said. Mr. Modi is likely to flag off two Vande Bharat trains, with one running from Katra to Srinagar and the other running from Srinagar to Katra. While the ambitious project to connect Kashmir by train began in 1997, it was commissioned in bits and parts and faced multiple delays due to geographical challenges posed by the terrain. In 2009, Qazigund - Baramulla section in Kashmir was rendered operation, following which in 2013, the 18-km Banihal - Qazigund section, and in 2014 - the 24-km Udhampur - Katra section was started. In 2023, the section between Banihal and Sangaldan was started and now the connectivity between Sangaldan and Katra, which is believed to be the most difficult of all sections has been completed. The Vande Bharat train will snake through the Chenab Bridge standing 359 meters above mean sea level. At an estimated cost of over ₹40,000 crore, the USBRL project involved laying out ballast less tracks over bridges and tunnels, spanning deep gorges, with 90% of the route traversed over 943 bridges, and 36 main tunnels, including India's longest railway tunnel, T-50 stretching more than 12.7 km. On the Katra - Banihal section, the train will also traverse another engineering marvel, the Anji Khad bridge, which is India's first cable-stayed bridge. Supported by 96 cables, the 725-meter-long bridge stands 331 meters above mean sea level.
