ITV Lorraine star says 'I'm to blame' as they make parenting confession
During the latest episode of ITV's Lorraine, presenter Ranvir Singh revealed feeling 'guilty' as she offered a glimpse into her personal life.
The stand-in host, who recently aimed a dig at Brooklyn Beckham, was discussing the thousands of students receiving their A-Level results to secure university places.
Yet, with education costs soaring and AI potentially endangering employment prospects, the ITV personality was questioning whether university attendance remains worthwhile.
Broadcaster Sonali Shah addressed AI and the careers people should now explore, with numerous future roles emerging from advancing technology, reports the Express.
She explained: "The key things are jobs requiring kids to be human! Human centric roles, health care professionals, teachers, there are still going to be a need for that.
"You can't be taught everything online. Tech and data roles, software engineers and even creative roles like writers and content creators, because we're still not there with AI."
Sonali advised Ranvir that parents must concentrate on ensuring their children can engage in conversations with others.
She remarked: "I chat to 17 and 18 year olds all the time, not all of them can hold a conversation anymore.
"Because their parents are phones and they're on phones. What we need to be teaching our kids is how to be human as that can't be replaced."
Nevertheless, Ranvir interrupted as she made an admission about her own technology usage.
The star of Lorraine confessed: "Can I just say, I feel terribly guilty because sometimes my son's in his bedroom upstairs and I'm in the kitchen and I text him to say, 'Can you just come down now?'
"I don't even shout up the stairs anymore, it's ridiculous, isn't it? I am to blame, I mean, you're so right."

Piers Morgan reveals original Britain's Got Talent line-up before Amanda Holden replaced ITV star
Piers Morgan reveals original Britain's Got Talent line-up before Amanda Holden replaced ITV star Britain's Got Talent is set to return to ITV later this year for its 19th season, and Piers Morgan has shared a snap of the original judging line-up for the first show The first Britain's Got Talent aired in 2007 (Image: ITV) Piers Morgan has posted a nostalgic photograph from the pilot episode of Britain's Got Talent featuring the original judging panel. The ITV talent competition is approaching its 19th series this year, and has featured numerous celebrities on the judging panel throughout its run. However, when it was initially set to debut in 2005, with Paul O'Grady presenting rather than Ant and Dec, Britain's Got Talent originally featured Piers, Simon Cowell and Fern Britton as judges, before Amanda Holden took her place. The beloved Lily Savage performer fronted the pilot episode that was never broadcast, and Piers has now revealed a photograph of the three judges from that recording. Piers Morgan, Amanda Holden and Simon Cowell hosted the first Britain's Got Talent that aired (Image: ITV) Great British Bake Off judges and hosts confirmed as trailer for new series drops READ MORE: ITV This Morning stars rush to congratulate colleague after sweet baby announcement READ MORE: The former Good Morning Britain host had previously been a judge on America's Got Talent prior to Britain's Got Talent, which eventually premiered in 2007, reports Belfast Live. Article continues below He posted: "Another amazing pic from my past, also randomly posted on X by someone yesterday. "This one is truly historic... it was the first ever panel assembled for the Got Talent franchise anywhere in the world. "Simon Cowell had come up with the idea of a new talent show, ITV ordered a pilot episode to be filmed, and cast Simon, me and Fern Britton (then presenting This Morning) as the judges. Content cannot be displayed without consent "It was hosted by the late, great Paul O'Grady.. and called 'Paul O'Grady's Got Talent'. The acts sat in the audience and came down onto the stage when it was their turn to perform." Piers recalled the whole thing being "hysterical" and how ITV had "loved it" before a "falling out" with Paul, which led ITV to shelve the format with its original name. He went on: "However, Simon isn't one of life's quitters, and a few weeks later he texted me to say he'd sold the rights to NBC in the U.S. , they wanted to repackage it as America's Got Talent, and he wanted me as a judge on it to play the tough meanie role because he was committed to American Idol so couldn't do it. (He said, 'Piers, I need someone as arrogant, obnoxious and judgemental as me, and your name has immediately sprung to mind!') The Britain's Got Talent panel looks very different these days (Image: ITV) "A month later, I was on the Paramount movie lot in Hollywood, with a trailer next to David Hasselhoff's, and we started filming @agt . It was an instant smash hit No1 summer show in America, and I owe my entire 20-year career over in the States to that lucky break (Thanks Simon!). "The following year @bgt launched in the UK but with Amanda Holden replacing Fern. That was also a No1 smash hit, and Got Talent has now aired in 69 countries, becoming one of the most successful television franchises in history. And it all started with this pic!" Fans were shocked to hear of the original version, with one writing: "I wish we could see this pilot. I've always wondered what it would have been like with Paul as host. Paul O'Grady was our greatest star and my favourite person in the world. I would have loved to have seen him pulling no punches with you and Simon. Why did Fern not end up being on the panel? Lovely lady." Fern Britton filmed the pilot (Image: ITV) Another said: "Do you have the taping of that pilot, I would love to see it." "Fern! What's Fern doing there," a third exclaimed. Paul previously admitted his "row" with ITV which left him "banned" from their studios, telling The Daily Mirror in 2010: "I did the pilot for Britain's Got Talent – which was originally going to be called Paul O'Grady's Got Talent. "But I told the producers they were having a joke if they thought I would front a show with that title. Paul O'Grady originally hosted the ITV variety show (Image: Getty Images) "The original panel of judges was going to be Simon Cowell, Fern Britton and Piers Morgan. I was the host. Article continues below "Then when I had the row with ITV I was banned from the studios. "I remember I rang Simon and told him he had a huge hit on his hands, but there was no way I could do it. I said, if I am banned I have to be banned from everything. "I can't be a hypocrite and come in and do this. I had to bow out."

Darius Danesh's ex-wife speaks out on anniversary after he died refusing operation
Former Pop Idol contestant Darius Campbell Danesh died suddenly at the age of 41 in August 2022. The wife of Darius Campbell Danesh has paid tribute to the late singer on the third anniversary of his death. On August 2022, the former Pop Idol contestant died suddenly at the age of 41 after inhaling chloroethane - also known as ethyl chloride - at his Minnesota apartment. Three years on from the tragedy, Canadian actress Natasha Henstridge, 50, - who filed for divorce from the Colourblind hitmaker in 2013, after just over two years of marriage - has admitted she still misses him dearly, reports the Mirror. Alongside a series of pictures of Darius, including one of the couple posing in front of the Eiffel Tower in Paris, she penned on Instagram on August 11: "Love and light always. Miss you today…. Sending love to the Danesh's and everyone whose life he touched." According to his girlfriend, Darius had been "living with a broken neck" and an undiagnosed heart condition when he died. Lauren Cheek explained that an autopsy revealed that his heart was "twice the size" it should have been and that she believes he used the recreational anaesthetic to alleviate the pain. She told The Sun on Sunday newspaper: "Darius was living with this heart condition that he didn't know he had. So many things could have taken him, but this one thing did, and he died in his sleep. "His mum told me they only found out after they did the autopsy. His heart was twice the size it was supposed to be, which was fitting, because that is genuinely how he was — he had so much love. "The autopsy also found he was living with a broken neck, but he refused to get help or complain about it. I think he used (chloroethane) because he was in so much pain and he didn't want to take pills, not even aspirin. That's what killed him — the substance mixed with his heart and he couldn't take it." Lauren went on to add that Darius - who shot to fame when he gave a memorable rendition of Britney Spears' hit '...Baby One More Time' on the ITV talent show Popstars before releasing a string of hit singles and eventually going on to star in the West End - had sustained his injuries whilst racing with Hollywood actor Gerard Butler and always "refused" when she urged him to see a doctor. She added: "He was with Gerry (Butler) in Monaco for the Grand Prix and they slammed into a wall during a race with the Prince of Monaco. I don't think it ever fully healed and then he rebroke it because he got hit by a car in London a year or two before he died when he was riding a bike. "And then he got into a car accident with his dad in Scotland. D was in the passenger seat, his dad was driving and someone drove into them. "He was always in pain and I would beg him to see the doctor, but he refused. He was trying to find a natural remedy.' Darius was battling chronic pain in his neck as a result of two car accidents. The first occurred in Spain in 2010 when he suffered a broken neck. Speaking about the crash to HELLO! he previously told how he came just 'three millimetres from death'. The singer had been on a lads driving holiday at the time and was on the motorway in sweltering heat. "Because of the haze, we didn't see that there was a diesel spill on the road. Before we could work out what was going on, it was already too late," he explained. "The car careered out of control on a bend, and we smashed into a wall at 70mph. My first recollection is my friend, the driver, asking if I was ok." He went on to say he remembered feeling a "sharp pain" in his neck before collapsing. Following the accident, Darius is said to have been offered an operation on his neck that could have proved life-changing, however, the singer and actor famously declined the procedure because there was a risk that it could impact his vocal chords. His pain continued to get worse over the years and a second car accident in 2021 only made it worse. Instead of the operation, Darius is said to have treated the 'severe nerve pain' using marijuana, painkillers, and an anaesthetic drug, the latter of which tragically caused him to go into 'respiratory arrest'. Strictly Come Dancing star Dani Dyer's dancing experience sparks 'fix' row
Strictly Come Dancing star Dani Dyer's dancing experience sparks 'fix' row Dani Dyer is the early favourite to win Strictly Come Dancing - but her odds could be slashed after it was revealed she has extensive dance experience Former Love Island star Dani Dyer has previously claimed to be a "qualified dancer" - a skill that could come in handy as she prepares to join the upcoming series of Strictly. The 29-year-old reality star, who is currently tipped as a favourite to win the show, has been open about her dance background, revealing she began training at the tender age of two. This revelation may raise questions about whether she holds an unfair advantage over her fellow celebrity contestants. Last year, trained dancer Tasha Ghouri faced criticism for her professional background, with some viewers labelling her participation as a 'fix'. The news comes as model Ellie Goldstein and two other celebrities have been announced for this year's line-up. The reality star and podcaster spoke of her excitement ahead of the series on The One Show (Image: BBC) Great British Bake Off judges and hosts confirmed as trailer for new series drops READ MORE: ITV This Morning stars rush to congratulate colleague after sweet baby announcement READ MORE: In her 2019 book, Dani detailed her early years attending theatre school every weekend from ages two to 14, where her knack for dancing was discovered. "It was called O'Farrell's Stage School and I was a really good little dancer," she recalled. Article continues below "I'm not a bad singer but it was the dance stuff I loved more - jazz, tap, ballet, modern. I'd get home and prance around the house.", reports the Mirror. In another section of the book, she drafts a hypothetical CV, listing under qualifications: "Qualified dancer and pretty good at singing (especially Dua Lipa or Ariana Grande at the top of her voice while cleaning the kitchen)." Last year Strictly became embroiled in controversy after signing Love Island's Tasha, 27, who possessed dance training. Actress Sarah Hadland and JLS member JB Gill faced similar accusations of having an unfair advantage due to their background experience. However, none of these contestants claimed victory, with the trophy ultimately going to Chris McCausland, the programme's first blind participant. Daughter of actor Danny Dyer, Dani says her dad has been a huge encouragement throughout her life (Image: Instagram/danidyerxx) In her memoir, Dani revealed her aspirations of gracing the BBC programme. She enthused: "If Strictly Come Dancing want to give me a call I'd also be happy to be whisked around the dance floor." At the time, Dani confessed that "the only thing I'd be worried about would be the curse" whilst she was in a relationship with Love Island co-star Jack Fincham. She also disclosed having a potential supporter on this year's series after forming a friendship with judge Shirley Ballas during a Comic Relief expedition. She described her as "just the most graceful, lovely person". Dani's entertainment journey began with disappointment, as she reveals in her bestselling memoir What Would Dani Do? My Guide to Living Your Best Life. At nine years old, she auditioned for a dancing role in the stage version of Billy Elliot - only to face rejection. However, it was her father Danny, 48, known for his roles in films including The Human Traffic and Football Factory, plus appearances in EastEnders and Rivals, who provided her initial opportunity. "It was so nerve-wracking and when I didn't get the part I was beside myself," she penned. Dani, married to footballer Jarrod Bowen, previously quipped about the Strictly curse when with ex Jack Fincham (Image: Jed Cullen/) "I cried all the way home. Mum bought me chunky chips and barbecue sauce to cheer me up, and I ate them with a plastic fork out of the container. "Neither she nor my dad wanted me going for auditions for a few years after that. Dad clearly saw something in me though, because a few years later he asked me to play a part in a film he was doing called Vendetta. "It was a bit random and out of the blue because I was at college (I studied musical theatre for a year but then dropped out) and he rang me up the day before filming to say that the actress who had been due to play the part had pulled out – she was meant to do a scene where she's dragged out of a car, but she'd found out she was pregnant so now didn't want to do it. "So, Dad said it was mine if I wanted it. 'Babe, I don't know if you fancy it but I've got this little role at the beginning of my film Vendetta?' Obviously, I did!" Dani then went on to win Love Island in 2018 with Jack Fincham. They split six months later. In May Dani married West Ham footballer Jarrod Bowen, 28, in a lavish ceremony. The pair have twins Summer and Sky, two. Dani has son Santiago, four, from a previous relationship. Dani is the 4/1 favourite to lift the Glitterball Trophy of the nine celebrities to be announced. YouTuber George Clarke is the second-favourite at 6/1. Cal Gildart of Ladbrokes stated: "Dani Dyer is the current pick of this year's Strictly pack, but with contestants still to be announced, we could soon see someone waltz past her to the head of the betting." Article continues below Strictly is due to make its comeback on BBC One and BBC iPlayer this September.
