Jason Momoas son Nakoa-Wolf Momoa joins Dune 3 cast
Washington DC [US], June 18 (ANI): Jason Momoa's son, Nakoa-Wolf Momoa, is set to join the cast of Dune 3, alongside his father, reported Deadline. Actress Ida Brooke will also be part of the film.
As per Deadline, in the new film from Warner Bros. and Legendary, the pair, Nakoa-Wolf and Brooke, will play Leto II and Ghanima, the twin offspring of Paul Atreides (Timothee Chalamet) and Chani (Zendaya), born after the events of the original Frank Herbert novel.
This project marks Nakoa-Wolf Momoa's big-screen debut. He is expected to join his father, Jason Momoa, who will play a resurrected ghola of Duncan Idaho, according to the outlet.
Like Nakoa-Wolf, Brooke is a relative newcomer who has previously appeared only in Apple's sci-fi drama Silo and the film 'The Primrose Railway Children.'
According to Deadline, Chalamet and Zendaya are just two of the cast members expected to return for the next Dune film, though a formal announcement on others has yet to be made.
Earlier this year, Robert Pattinson reportedly entered talks for a villain role in the threequel.
Dune is Legendary's expansive, multi-format sci-fi universe based on the Hugo Award-winning novel series by Frank Herbert, which has so far spawned two hit films: 2021's Dune: Part One and last year's Dune: Part Two, both from filmmaker Denis Villeneuve.
The film earned a combined 1.12 billion USD at the global box office and won eight Oscars from 15 nominations, including Best Picture nominations for both, according to Deadline.
The universe's most recent entry is the prequel TV series Dune: Prophecy, set 10,000 years before the ascension of Paul Atreides, which premiered on Max in November and has been renewed for a second season.
It's expected that Villeneuve's third and final Dune film will adapt Herbert's novel Dune Messiah, set 12 years after the events of Dune, which follows Atreides' struggles with the consequences of his Fremen-led jihad upon his ascension to Emperor Muad'Dib.
A release date and official title for the new film haven't yet been disclosed. (ANI)

Women are expected to have a perfectly toned body, and especially in the entertainment industry, actresses are constantly under scrutiny for their looks and are often subjected to severe criticism and brutal trolling. Welsh actress Banita Sandhu, who is known for her roles in 'October' and 'Sardar Udham', opened up about body shaming and revealed how she was once criticised for being too skinny. In a conversation with ANI, she recalled the incident of being body-shamed and how it affected her, 'I remember getting body shamed when I did a South Indian movie. I remember people calling me ugly because I looked like a twig. And how could the co-star be attracted to me in the movie, because I was so skinny? That was the first time I think I experienced body shaming. But at the same time, it was this weird, it almost felt like a simulation because it was happening online. I don't know how to explain it. And it was from a culture that was something I hadn't grown up in." Banita continued, 'So I didn't feel as closely offended or criticised by it. I was like, oh, okay, the beauty standard in this region is different to what I look like. And that's just how I took it. I didn't take it to heart. Like, oh, my God, I need to gain so much weight now. And I'm because I'm naturally very skinny, you can literally ask any producer I've worked with, like I eat the most on set." However, she suggested facing such criticisms without getting affected by them, 'So it wasn't something like it was the first time I experienced something like that. But also, I think with anything online, you just can't take it seriously… You really can't." Sandhu was born and brought up in Caerleon, Wales. She made her film debut with the 2018 Shoojit Sircar directorial 'October', starring Varun Dhawan. This was followed by the American TV series 'Pandora' and the Tamil film 'Adithya Varma', both in 2019. She was later seen in 'Sardar Udham'. The ace star said, 'I was incredibly blessed. It was one of those things that, it was like a domino effect, and everything kind of just fell into place, and to have, your first movie with a director like that, too, it's a blessing and a curse, because it's a blessing to have your first movie with a director like that, but it's a curse in a sense that you really realise what a privilege it is to have a director like that for your first movie, and it's hard to get back there again." Sandhu is gearing up for her next project, 'Detective Sherdil', starring Diljit Dosanjh. She opened up about sharing the screen space with Diljit and her role in the film. While speaking about her experience in the film, she said, " My experience of working on Detective Shield was… I think it was the funnest time I've ever had on a movie set, honestly. I had the best time. It was incredible working with an ensemble cast like this, and we shot in Budapest, and it was so beautiful, and I really had a blast on this one." She added, 'I think one of the main challenges for me was… I'm an actor who likes to have sufficient time to prep. I came on board with this movie like two weeks before they started shooting, so I didn't have much time, but we kind of just went into like intensive modes, and really went in on rehearsals, and workshops. I felt supported, because my character is deaf, and for that there had to be a lot of research, and rehearsal, and also kind of observation as well, and understanding your scenes, so that those technicalities don't come in the way of you acting when you're on set." Banita, who featured in the music video 'Jindh Mahi', alongside Diljit Dosanjh in 2018, shared her working experience with her in the movie. 'The great thing with Diljit is he is exactly the same as when I worked with him for the first time, as he was the second time. He is a kind of person who just keeps his head down, and he focusses, and he has a great work ethic, and incredible discipline, and I'm not surprised to see that he's gotten to where he has, because I've seen him put in the work over all of these years, so it's really fortunate for me to get to witness… someone who was really on the rise, and now to see them in like superstardom, it's incredible. We made several reels on the sets," she added. While praising Dosanjh for his style statement, the 'Adithya Varma' actor said, 'He's the best-dressed man in India, hands down." The film boasts a stellar ensemble cast including Diana Penty, Boman Irani, Ratna Pathak Shah, Chunky Panday, Sumeet Vyas, Kashmira Irani, and others. It is directed and edited by Ravi Chhabriya. Zagreb [Croatia], June 19 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday shared highlights from his visit to Croatia, where he held discussions with his Croatian counterpart Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic and received a ceremonial welcome in the capital city of Zagreb. Taking to social media platform X, PM Modi posted a series of updates on his engagements during the visit. He wrote, 'Grateful to my friend, Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic for the special gesture of showing me the city centre of the historical and culturally rich city of Zagreb.' PM Modi also shared glimpses of the ceremonial reception accorded to him in Zagreb, saying, 'Pictures from the ceremonial welcome in Zagreb, Croatia.' Following his meeting with the Croatian Prime Minister, PM Modi said the bilateral talks were comprehensive and spanned multiple sectors. He posted, 'Held productive talks with my friend, Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic in Zagreb. Our talks covered many sectors, aimed at making the India-Croatia bond even stronger. We will be working closely in the fields of defence and security, pharmaceuticals, agriculture, IT, renewable energy, technology and more. Synergies in areas like semiconductors, shipbuilding, connectivity and more will also be greatly beneficial.' Building on this, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Wednesday that India and Croatia will promote cooperation in several areas including pharmaceuticals, agriculture, and information technology. He added that a Defence Cooperation Plan will also be formulated for long-term collaboration in the defence sector. In a joint press statement with Croatia PM Andrej Plenkovic after their delegation-level talks, PM Modi said the two countries have emphasised joint research and collaboration between their academic institutions and India will share its space experience with Croatia. PM Modi reached Croatia earlier in the day in the last leg of his three-nation visit. 'We have decided to speed up our bilateral relations three times in our third term. A Defence Cooperation Plan will be made for long-term cooperation in the defence sector, which will focus on training and military exchange as well as defence industry. There are many areas where our economies can complement each other. These areas have been identified,' he said. 'We have decided to increase cooperation in many areas to increase bilateral trade and create a reliable supply chain. We will promote cooperation in many important areas like pharma, agriculture, information technology, clean technology, digital technology, renewable energy,' he added. The Prime Minister said there are also ample opportunities for Croatian companies in the port modernisation, coastal zone development and multi-modal connectivity being carried out under India's Sagarmala Project. 'We have emphasised joint research and collaboration between our academic institutions and centres. India will share its space experience with Croatia. Our centuries-old cultural relations are the root of mutual affection and goodwill... Today, we have decided to give more strength to our cultural and people-to-people relations. The duration of the MoU of Hindi Chair in Zagreb University has been extended till 2030. A cultural exchange program has been prepared for the next five years. The mobility agreement will be completed soon to facilitate the movement of people,' he said. PM Modi expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the Croatian Prime Minister and the Croatian government for the enthusiasm, warmth and affection with which he has been welcomed. 'This is the first visit of any Indian Prime Minister to Croatia, and I have had the good fortune of it. India and Croatia are connected by common values like democracy, rule of law, pluralism and quality. It is a happy coincidence that last year the people of India have given me and the people of Croatia have given the opportunity to Croatian Prime Minister, Andrej Plenkovic to serve for the third consecutive time,' he said. Upendra Limaye of Animal fame all set to make his Kannada debut
Having wowed audiences nationwide with his portrayal of Freddy Patil in Sandeep Reddy Vanga's film Animal, National Award-winning actor Upendra Limaye is now set to make his Kannada debut. Upendra will soon be seen in a pivotal role in director Kishore Bhargav 's upcoming film, which features Rishi in the lead. Kishore, who earlier worked as an associate director with Ram Gopal Varma and made his directorial debut with the Kannada film Stalker, reveals that casting Upendra was a decision born out of admiration. 'His performance in Animal blew me away. While writing this character, I couldn't think of anyone else,' shares the filmmaker. In the Kannada film, Upendra plays the role of Vasant Rao, who is 'wacky, aggressive, and funny'. Notably, the role comes with an unusual twist: the character suffers from misophonia, a condition where specific sounds trigger intense emotional or behavioural reactions. 'Vasant Rao is unpredictable. His aggression stems from his sensitivity to sound, but that's also where a lot of the film's humour lies,' says Kishore. A connection with Karnataka 'My mother is from Belagavi, so Kannada feels like my mother tongue—it's a language of love,' says the veteran actor, who is widely celebrated for his work in Marathi cinema.
