Oppo K13 Turbo and K13 Turbo Pro's India launch date announced
Additionally, Oppo said that the K13 Turbo series, "with its racing-inspired design, power-packed features, and performance-first engineering," is all "set to redefine what a smartphone can offer in the under INR40,000 ($455/€395) segment."
The brand hasn't detailed the specs sheets of the Indian K13 Turbo and K13 Turbo Pro, but it previously confirmed that the Indian K13 Turbo will be powered by the Dimensity 8450 SoC, whereas the K13 Turbo Pro will have the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 SoC at the helm, just like their Chinese counterparts.

Moreover, Oppo also revealed the color options for both smartphones in India. The Oppo K13 Turbo Pro will be available in Silver Knight, Purple Phantom, and Midnight Maverick colors. The Oppo K13 Turbo will also come in Purple Phantom and Midnight Maverick, with the third option being White Knight.
It seems the Indian K13 Turbo and K13 Turbo Pro will share the hardware with their Chinese counterparts; hence, you can check the Chinese models' detailed specs here to learn more about them.

The race for the slimmest flagship smartphone is now on, and it seems like Apple will be taking the lead with the iPhone 17 Air, at least when it comes to thickness. A physical comparison between the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge and a dummy unit of the iPhone 17 Air shows a clear winner: Apple's phone is much slimmer. While the Galaxy S25 Edge is 5.8 mm thick, the iPhone 17 Air is expected to be 5.5 mm instead, which is what the dummy units are modeled after. But is the iPhone 17 Air actually worth getting this year? Unless you're strictly an iPhone user, I'd say not really. According to reports, next year's Galaxy S26 Edge will be 5.5 mm thick as well, so just as thin as the Air but with a much larger battery. If I was choosing between the two, I'd honestly wait for Samsung's phone. However, that is a trap some consumers fall into: always waiting for the next best thing. The most boring Ultra phone of 2025 crushed all its rivals in sales
This year might as well be the year of the "Ultra" phone, given how great and exciting Android phones with the respectable "Ultra" suffix have been released in 2025. We got the Galaxy S25 Ultra, the Vivo X200 Ultra, the Xiaomi 15 Ultra, and the Oppo Find X8 Ultra. What a respectable selection of heavy-hitters indeed! I've used or at least played around with each one of those phones, and all these phones are definitely up for contention for the "best phone of the year" title. Yes, even with the Pixel 10 and iPhone 17 series unreleased, it's doubtful any of them would be able to match the Ultra phones, methinks. One of these phones is arguably the most mundane and boring, and that's certainly the Galaxy S25 Ultra . It has a great camera, but the Xiaomi 15 Ultra, the Vivo X200 Ultra, and the Oppo Find X8 Ultra certainly beat it in terms of hardware. Many of these phones have exceptional 1-inch main camera sensors, which certainly matters when it comes to raw optical image quality. Camera software features are also more intriguing on either one of the Galaxy S25 Ultra 's rivals. In terms of battery, the Samsung flagship takes another "L," dragging its feet at the back with its fairly minuscule 5,000 mAh battery when the norm is a 6,000 mAh Silicon-Carbon battery at the minimum. There's also the financial aspect: the Galaxy S25 Ultra is slightly pricier than some of its Ultra rivals (except for the Xiaomi 15 Ultra). Yet, a few weeks ago, famed tipster Ice Universe hinted that the Galaxy S25 Ultra has easily outsold all of its more exciting rivals at least eightfold. The tipster revealed Samsung had sold 8.4 million units by the end of June 2025. The competition wasn't doing as well, it seems. Any of the other flagships sold less: the Xiaomi 15 Ultra with a little over half a million units, the Vivo X200 Ultra some 219,000 units, and the Oppo Find X8 Ultra last with 210,000 units. *-all figures rumored and approximate Total and utter dominance by the Samsung phone, which easily positions itself as the de facto choice for high-end "knock-it-out-of-the-park" Android flagships this year. So, why does the Galaxy S25 Ultra sell so well when it's arguably the least exciting Ultra phone out there? Yes, the reasons that the Galaxy S25 Ultra sells so well are numerous and immediately obvious. I think there are a few of them. Firstly, it's the exceptionally strong brand name that Samsung holds pretty much everywhere across the world. After Apple, it's Samsung that holds the most brand power in the world of smartphones. Secondly, it's the global availability that plays possibly the biggest role here. The Galaxy S25 Ultra is available in all global markets that matter. Its competitors? Sadly, it's only the Xiaomi 15 Ultra that sells in other global markets than China, while the Oppo and the Vivo are pretty much intended for the internal Chinese market only. They don't even have proper global software, making it a real pain to use anywhere outside the Middle Kingdom. Next up, we have Samsung's reliability and pledge for long software support. Seven years? That's a whole eternity in the world of tech, and none of the other Ultra phones can boast a similar long support window. The dependability of the software is yet another major reason why the Galaxy S25 Ultra is such a hit. In the early days of Android, there was a lot of variety in terms of manufacturers, devices, and Android interfaces. Yet, as the market matured and many of those dropped out of the race, it's Samsung that easily positioned itself as the undisputed leader of the Android world. In fact, for most people, One UI might as well be the face of Android. So, at the end of the day, Samsung hit it out of the park. Google teases Pixel 10 AI features in video
I'm sure that I don't have to tell you how important two letters are to smartphone manufacturers these days. The letters, "A" and "I" (which you'll note I presented to you in alphabetical order), mean so much to smartphone buyers when done correctly. Google and Samsung haven't written AI checks that their phones couldn't cash. That is what Apple did with the hugely disappointing Apple Intelligence AI initiative. Where Apple went wrong is exactly where Google went right. Apple made promises about Siri's AI capabilities at WWDC 2024, showing examples of how the digital assistant would look through your email, texts, calendar, and other apps to tell you what time your mom was supposed to land at the airport, and what time and where dinner reservations were made. Apple even went to the expense of shooting an ad showing how this "Personal" Siri would come to the rescue of a teen iPhone user who couldn't remember the name of the guy she had just met and had an interest in. For those of you who have used Google's Gemini app, OpenAI's ChatGPT, or any of the AI chatbox apps, it is so clear that they are the future of the digital assistant. Google has a head start as it is replacing Google Assistant with Gemini. I've been using Gemini as the assistant on my Pixel 6 Pro, and I love it. It answers my queries with responses that allow you to take a deeper dive if you wish to. AI is much more than a chatbox looking to answer your questions. I really wouldn't say that Google, Samsung, or Apple have done a good job to promote these other capabilities. Google, however, has released a teaser revealing some of the AI features already available on Pixel phones that will still be available for the Pixel 10 series. I guess that really doesn't make it much of a teaser. It starts with a question that makes you think: "What if your phone could do things other phones couldn't?" For example, "What if the camera could get super, super, super close while being really, really, really far?" This refers to Super Res Zoom, which is a feature that uses computational photography and AI to enhance and add detail to zoomed-in photos of people or animals physically far away, making it appear as though you were right in front of them. This would be a great AI feature for those watching performers on a stage, while sitting in the cheap seats. The next question, "What if you could be in the group photo even if you snapped the group photo?" is about the feature "Add Me." Let's say you want to take a group photo and add yourself to the photograph later. With "Add Me," you take the shot of the group, making sure to leave room for yourself. Someone else takes a second photo of just you. AI seamlessly merges the two photos together, making it appear as though you were in the original shot to begin with even though you took the picture. Google then says, "While you used to be on the other side of the camera, now the camera is on your side." The teaser ends with this deep thought, "What if you asked more of your phone and your phone answered?" We should learn more about the AI capabilities of the Pixel 10 series this coming Wednesday, August 20, when the "Made by Google" event takes place and the Pixel 10 line is unveiled. Besides the phones, we should see the Pixel Watch 4 introduced along with the more affordable Pixel Buds 2a.
