Canada PM Carney Aims to Resolve Canola Row With China
OTTAWA—Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney said officials will work on a support package for canola growers while trying to resolve the trade row with their Chinese counterparts over the oilseed. Effective Thursday, China imposed a nearly 76% tariff on all Canadian canola imports, citing unfair trade practices by Canadian growers that are causing damage to the domestic canola, or rapeseed, market. China and the U.S. are the biggest export markets for Canadian canola.

Oppo K13 Turbo and K13 Turbo Pro's India launch date announced
Last week, we exclusively reported that the Oppo K13 Turbo series, which includes the K13 Turbo and K13 Turbo Pro, would launch in India between August 11 and August 14. Today, Oppo corroborated our report as it announced that the K13 Turbo will debut in India on August 11. Additionally, Oppo said that the K13 Turbo series, "with its racing-inspired design, power-packed features, and performance-first engineering," is all "set to redefine what a smartphone can offer in the under INR40,000 ($455/€395) segment." The brand hasn't detailed the specs sheets of the Indian K13 Turbo and K13 Turbo Pro, but it previously confirmed that the Indian K13 Turbo will be powered by the Dimensity 8450 SoC, whereas the K13 Turbo Pro will have the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 SoC at the helm, just like their Chinese counterparts. The Oppo K13 Turbo Pro will be available in Silver Knight, Purple Phantom, and Midnight Maverick colors. The Oppo K13 Turbo will also come in Purple Phantom and Midnight Maverick, with the third option being White Knight. Bessent Sees China Tariff Truce Extended in Sweden Next Week
US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said he will meet his Chinese counterparts in Stockholm next week for their third round of trade talks aimed at extending a tariff truce and widening the discussions. 'That deal expires on Aug. 12,' Bessent said on Fox Business of the scheduled end of the current trade truce between the world's two largest economies. 'I'm going to be in Stockholm on Monday and Tuesday with my Chinese counterparts and we'll be working out what is likely an extension then.'
