Gregg Wallace gushes over ‘beautiful' wife on romantic anniversary picnic as MasterChef makes controversial return

The Sun20 hours ago
GREGG Wallace called himself a "very lucky man" as he celebrated his ninth wedding anniversary today with "beautiful" wife Anna.
The axed MasterChef star, 60, returned to Hever Castle, Kent, with Anne-Marie, 38, for a romantic picnic on the same day the latest series of the BBC cooking show controversially returned to screens featuring both of its fired hosts.

Series 21 was filmed before a report into Wallace's behaviour upheld 45 historical allegations of misconduct over a 17 year period.
As part of the investigation Wallace's co-star John Torode was alleged to have used a racist term, though he maintains he did not.
Today, Wallace, who is now marketing himself as a personal trainer, was all smiles as he filmed himself and Anna by the side of a lake.
He said: "Hello, it's our wedding anniversary. How many years, Anna?"
She replied: "Nine."
The couple then giggled as they struggled to recall if they'd been together for 12 or 13 years.
Wallace continued: "The theme is willow, so we've got a picnic basket and we're at Hever Castle because it's here we got married.
"Look at this scene for a picnic. Beautiful setting, beautiful wife. I'm a very lucky man."
One follower commented: "Happy faces for a happy anniversary - I bet it was a lovely picnic too."
Another said: "Lovely location for a wedding anniversary picnic."
Shamed Gregg Wallace says 'I'm no groper, sex pest or flasher,' as tearful star refuses to accept blame for BBC sacking
A third posted: "Lovely location for a wedding anniversary picnic."
Those who tuned into MasterChef today on BBC iPlayer noticed the show had been edited to minimise the amount of banter between hosts Torode and Wallace.
As the six amateur cooks made their first dishes for the pair, viewers noted how their usual breezy interactions were virtually non-existent.
Prior to the show airing, contestant Sarah Shafi, from Leeds, revealed how she was allegedly offered the opportunity to be edited out of the series after claiming it shouldn't be broadcast.
Ms Shafi, 57, told the Guardian: 'I didn't say edit me out.
'I said: 'Axe the show, don't air the show. I'm asking you not to air the show.' Prominent figures have been abusing their power.
"What message does that send out to women?"
MasterChef facts
MASTERCHEF has been a staple BBC series for years - but what are the key details?
MasterChef launched on BBC One back in 1990
It ran until 2001, then was revived in 2005 as MasterChef Goes Large
John Torode joined the revamped series in 2005, where he teamed up with Gregg Wallace as hosts
Controversial moments? In March 2018, Gregg refused to judge Zaleha Kadir Olpin's stewed chicken rendang dish as he claimed it was 'not crispy enough and could not be eaten.'
Ms Sharif alleged there was an "enabling environment" and a pattern of "institutions not being accountable".
She also claimed there was a "heated conversation" when she tried to voice her opinions with a producer.
Once the corporation confirmed the season was going ahead, Ms Sharif agreed to be edited out.
The Sun contacted a representative for MasterChef for comment.

THE AXE FALLS
Wallace was the first of the two hosts to be sacked back on July 10, with the BBC citing that they doubted his ability to change 'learned behaviour' as a reason for his axing.
The report concluded that Gregg, who was diagnosed as autistic midway through the investigation, "struggled to distinguish the boundaries between appropriate and inappropriate behaviour in the workplace.'
The findings also referenced reputational damage to the Corporation in light of comments Wallace has made about it since he was taken off air.
Wallace has hosted MasterChef alongside Torode since 2005 and has also fronted other BBC programmes including Inside the Factory and Supermarket Secrets.
In late 2024, it was reported that the BBC had been made aware of complaints dating back to 2017, while it was claimed that a letter had been sent to the broadcaster in 2022 stating that women had been made to feel 'uncomfortable' in his presence.
However, he has been cleared of the most serious allegations, including those made by high profile names including Kirsty Wark and Penny Lancaster.
He also backed Torode, insisting: 'He is not a racist.'

More info Buckingham Palace has announced that King Charles is scheduled to address the nation next week, in commemoration of the 80th anniversary of VJ Day. The King has pre-recorded an audio message set to be broadcast on August 15, marking the anniversary of Japan's surrender to the Allies after the atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki in 1945, effectively concluding the Second World War. The message will be aired prior to a remembrance service attended by the King and Queen, Second World War veterans, and Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer at the National Memorial Arboretum in Staffordshire. The service, which will be live-streamed by the BBC, aims to honour all those who served in the Asia-Pacific theatre, including Burma Star recipients, British Indian Army veterans, former prisoners of war, and those who participated in key battles such as Kohima and Imphal in India. The event, organised by the Royal British Legion in collaboration with the Government, will see the King and his wife lay floral tributes, along with other senior figures, reports the Manchester Evening News. A national two-minute silence will culminate in an aerial display by the Red Arrows, and the service will conclude with a flypast by the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight. Following this, the King and Queen will attend a reception with Second World War veterans. While Charles and Camilla will be present at the National Memorial Arboretum event, the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh are set to attend a service at the Scottish National War Memorial at Edinburgh Castle, organised by the Royal British Legion Scotland. Simultaneously, the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester will join the congregation at the Far East Prisoners of War VJ Day 80th Anniversary Service at Norwich Cathedral. They will then attend a second commemorative service dedicated to the Children and Families of the Far East Prisoners of War in Suffolk. Before VJ Day, Sophie is scheduled to meet Second World War veteran Jim Wren, who was serving on HMS Repulse when he was captured and held on the Indonesian island of Sumatra until the war's end. The 80th anniversary of VJ Day commemorations will conclude with a reception for veterans at Windsor Castle later in the autumn.

Ozzy Osbourne's poignant final words about his fans revealed by Sharon – as one of their last ever pics together emerges

SHARON Osbourne has revealed her husband Ozzy's poignant final words about his fans following his farewell Black Sabbath concert. The legend tragically died last month at the age of 76 - just weeks after his swanswong final show with the legendary group. 2 2 Brave Sharon opened up on her husband's final appearance on stage following a glistening musical career. She told Pollstar: "It was the first time, I think, that anybody's gone into retirement and done it, where the show is streamed and it goes to charity. "So it's the first time anybody has said goodnight like that, it's the perfect way, when you've had such a long career, to end it - I never wanted Ozzy to just disappear without some big event. "He [Ozzy] turned around and he said to me that night, he said, 'I had no idea that so many people liked me'." It comes after the first glimpse of the new Ozzy Osbourne documentary was revealed - showing the late rocker and wife Sharon in one of their last images together. The couple are seen smiling as they relax at home with their pet pomeranians as part of the upcoming BBC One show, Ozzy Osbourne: Coming Home. The singer, who passed away last month aged 76 after a long battle with Parkinson's, is seen leaning into his beloved wife with a walking stick in his hand and a head of rapidly greying hair. The one-off, hour long documentary features extensive access to the family over a period of three years, leading up to his final Black Sabbath concert in Birmingham on July 5. Clare Sillery, BBC Head of Commissioning, Documentaries, says: 'We are honoured to have had the opportunity to film with Ozzy and his family. 'The film captures an intimate glimpse into their journey as they prepare to return to the UK. It features family moments, humour, reflection and shows the enduring spirit that made Ozzy a global icon. 'We hope it brings comfort and joy to Ozzy's fans and viewers as they remember and celebrate his extraordinary life.' Yesterday, The Sun exclusively revealed how the filmmakers were in a race with Paramount+, who have their own show about the Prince of darkness in the pipeline. And the BBC appear to have pipped them to the post, with their documentary going out on August 18 - nearly two months before the rival production is due to drop on the streaming service. Coming Home started filming prior to Ozzy's Parkinson's diagnosis and was originally called Home to Roost as it was just going to chart the Osbourne's return to the UK from LA. But the cameras were allowed to continue rolling to chart the heartbreaking rollercoaster ride the family would go on, with daughter Kelly remarking in one scene in the film: 'Iron man wasn't really made of iron.'
