Osbourne made it onto the stage one last time to perform a homecoming gig on Saturday, July 5 where he played a set with his own band and then a finale with Black Sabbath in Birmingham.

Now, the documentary will give fans an insight into the musician's final years.

The BBC said: 'Ozzy Osbourne: Coming Home is the moving and inspirational account of the last chapter of Ozzy's life, told through unique and intimate access to the whole Osbourne family, including Sharon, Jack and Kelly.'
The documentary was filmed over three years and 'captures the extraordinary roller-coaster of their lives as Sharon and Ozzy attempt to complete their long-held dream of moving back to the UK, Ozzy heroically battles to get fit enough to perform, and the family deal with the dramatic consequences of his ill-health.'
Clare Sillery, BBC Head of Commissioning, Documentaries, says: 'We are honoured to have had the opportunity to film with Ozzy and his family. The film captures an intimate glimpse into their journey as they prepare to return to the UK.
'It features family moments, humour, reflection and shows the enduring spirit that made Ozzy a global icon. We hope it brings comfort and joy to Ozzy's fans and viewers as they remember and celebrate his extraordinary life.'
Ben Wicks and Colin Barr, Executive Producers at Expectation, say: 'It was an incredible privilege to spend the last few years with Ozzy, as well as Sharon, Jack and Kelly.
'Ozzy wanted to make it back to the UK and appear on stage one last time - our film is an inspiring and poignant account of him fulfilling that dream.
'Ozzy was loved by millions around the world not just for his music, but for his sense of mischief and his honesty all of which we saw plenty of in the final years of his life.
'But one thing shone through even more brightly to us, and that was Ozzy's intense love for his exceptional family who were by his side through it all.'

Nicola Walker dealt major blow as Scottish BBC series axed

It has been axed after two series, with the BBC confirming that there are no plans to make any more episodes Nicola Walker's Annika will not be making a comeback for a third series on the BBC, it has been revealed. ‌ The 55-year-old star brought DI Annika Strandhed to life across two series of the detective drama, and left fans delighted. ‌ Nevertheless, UKTV, which broadcasts the programme on U+Alibi and BBC, has announced that despite the series concluding with a cliffhanger, there are no current intentions to create additional episodes. ‌ A representative informed "We are incredibly proud of the success of Annika on U+Alibi, but there are no current plans for a third series." Annika originated from the BBC Radio 4 audio drama, Annika Strandhed, where Nicola also voiced the principal character. ‌ The programme was renowned for its distinctive style, with the Marine Homicide Unit detective regularly breaking the fourth wall to speak directly to viewers. The drama saw Annika leading the fictional Glasgow-based Marine Homicide Unit, with the cast consisting of Katie Leung as DC Blair Ferguson, Jamie Sives as DS Michael McAndrews, Ukweli Roach as DS Tyrone Clarke and Kate Dickie as DCI Diane Oban. The star-studded cast also included Doctor Who star Varada Sethu joining as DC Harper Weston in season two, while Paul McGann played Annika's love interest Jake Strathearn, and Silvie Furneaux was her daughter, Morgan. Annika's axe comes despite its impressive Rotten Tomatoes rating, with an 83% score and a 96% audience rating. "Wow, just wow. Bring on season 3," one fan commented. ‌ Another said: "The marvellous Nicola Walker never disappoints, another great British crime drama. Scottish setting is beautiful." Someone else praised: "Oh my god this show is so underrated, it's so funny and Nicola Walker just makes it a 10/10." Another echoed: "I love this show. It is so understated but the humour really catches you unawares and I find myself laughing sometimes before I realise why. The breaking down of the four wall brings helps the viewer feel as if they are included and during those moments in which Annika speaks to us I find myself learning new things which is unusual for a crime show." ‌ Nicola previously admitted it took some time to get used to the unconventional way of bringing viewers insight into Annika. She said: "With most characters there is so much subtext. But there is no subtext with Annika because the subtext is her talking directly to you and telling you what she feels. By the end, we are going to know her as well as she knows herself. ‌ "On the first day, I kept stopping and laughing. It felt so wrong. But by the end, I was so into it, I was flicking looks at the camera all the time. I'm very worried about my next job now – 'Why does she keep looking down the lens?' It might have ruined me for the future!" But she explained the device was essential when it came to adapting the original audio drama. She said: "When he started talking about a television series, my first question was, how would you populate the world which has previously only been in Annika's head? Nick [Walker, writer] said immediately, 'We're going to break the fourth wall!' "So, she still has Norwegian heritage, she is still an outsider, and she still has a different way of coping with life and work, but the hook is the fact that this is the only detective series where the audience is the silent sidekick. We are in cahoots with her." Annika is available to watch on BBC iPlayer.

Can you guess which England football stars these actors are playing? BBC film new drama on Gareth Southgate's reign

ACTORS are pulling on the Three Lions shirt to play England football stars for a new BBC drama TV series. But can you work out which England footballers these actors are being portrayed in our exclusive photos? 10 10 10 The broadcaster is producing the series as an adaptation of the award-winning play Dear England. The show will be made up of four parts and will follow former England boss Gareth Southgate as he attempts to end the nation's wait for a major trophy. BBC will air the series in 2026 as it is currently being filmed in the south of England. Some scenes have already been filmed, including one of Southgate's darkest days in charge of the team. Actors pulled on the famous kit to re-enact England's 4-0 hammering at the hands of Hungary in June 2014. The loss was the Three Lions' biggest defeat on home soil since 1928 as they left Wolves' Molineux Stadium with a whimper. Pictures have shown the England team in action with their actor doubles taking to the pitch. And some of the players didn't quite manage to capture the full look of the originals. Southgate is being be played by Olivier Award-nominated actor Joseph Fiennes - who does a great job in capturing the former Aston Villa and Crystal Palace star's resemblance. However the same could not be said for some of the actors out on the turf. Have you worked out which England stars are being portrayed in our photos of the BBC's filming? Gareth Southgate 10 Southgate is played by Olivier Award-nominated actor Joseph Fiennes. The Enemy at the Gates star also portrayed the manager during the stage show that inspired the series. Harry Kane 10 Harry Kane will be played by Will Antenbring, who was pictured wearing the no9 shirt. The actor has a passing resemblance to the Bayern Mu nich striker, albeit with a slighter frame. Kyle Walker 10 Kyle Walker's actor has a much closer resemblance to him than that of Kane. The actor could be seen wearing the former Manchester City star's no2 shirt. Harry Maguire 10 Actor Adam Hugill is playing Harry Maguire and has a near-perfect hairstyle for the role. The actor was pictured with a remarkably similar movement style to the Manchester United star. Kieran Trippier 10 Kieran Trippier was also portrayed on the pitch during filming. Bizarrely, the Newcastle defender was seen wearing a purple durag while playing. Southgate's England career Southgate, 54, took charge of the team back in 2016 and led the team to two Euros finals during his eight-year stint. Under his guidance, the team came the closest they have come since 1966 to lifting a trophy, having lost to Italy on penalties in 2020 and Spain in extra time in 2024. England also reached the semi-finals of the World Cup in 2018 before being beaten by Croatia and the quarter-finals of the tournament in 2022. Following the defeat to the Spanish, he decided to step down from his position and was subsequently replaced by German manager Thomas Tuchel. GARETH Southgate took charge of 102 games for England before quitting in the aftermath of the Euro 2024 final defeat to Spain. But what were the best - and worst matches - from the popular gaffer's eight-year reign before that devastating Sunday night in Berlin? Here we take a look. THE HIGHS: Colombia 1-1 England (3-4 on pens,) 2018 World Cup This was the night that long-suffering supporters finally started to believe that it was coming home. Despite conceding a late equaliser, England held their nerve to advance to the quarter final of the World Cup 2018 on penalties. It was our first shootout victory for 22 years. Spain 2-3 England, 2018 Nations League Following on from the World Cup, England won in Spain for the first time in 31 years with a brilliant Uefa Nations League victory. Southgate's boys stunned the Seville crowd into silence with a thrilling performance that saw them lead 3-0 at the break thanks to a Raheem Sterling brace and Marcus Rashford. Although the hosts scored two after the break, the way the Three Lions tore La Roja apart excited every fan. England 2-1 Denmark, Euro 2020 semi-final Southgate led England to their first major final in 55 years as they beat Denmark after extra-time in the Euro 2020 semi-final. Having fallen behind after half an hour, the Three Lions battled back to send it to extra-time courtesy of an own goal. Then it was captain Kane who converted a rebound after Kasper Schmeichel originally saved his penalty in extra-time to win it. England 3-0 Sengal, 2022 World Cup last 16 England had already blown Iran and Wales, 6-2 and 3-0 respectively, away in the World Cup 2022 group stages before they breezed past Senegal. The free-scoring Three Lions recorded another big win to set-up a mouthwatering quarter-final against France - what could go wrong? Italy 1-2 England, Euro qualifiers, 2023 On a night when Harry Kane became England's all-time top scorer, the Three Lions recorded a first away win over Italy since 1961. It was the first game since their 2022 World Cup exit, and it ensured a perfect start to their Euro 2022 qualifying campaign. England 2-1 Holland, Euro 2024 sem-final The nation doubted Southgate's men in the semis of Euro 2024, but they responded with a barnstorming display. Xavi Simons opened the scoring for the Dutch but Harry Kane's penalty drew us level. And Ollie Watkins slotted in a brilliant winner in injury time to see the Three Lions into their second successive Euros final. AND THE LOWS.... Croatia 2-1 England, World Cup semi-final, 2018 Having led England to a first World Cup semi-final since 1990, Southgate men made a dream start as Kieran Trippier put them ahead in the early exchanges. But Ivan Perisic equalised as the Croats began to take control. Some of Southgate's substitutions were then questioned after his team were beaten in extra-time, although many gave him the benefit of the doubt as he returned a hero. Italy 1-1 England (3-2 pens) Euro 2020 final Will probably never get a better chance to have secured a trophy for the Three Lions than this final of the last European Championship. Luke Shaw gave us the lead after just seconds, but just like against Croatia three years earlier, we sat back and let our rivals back into it. Leonardo Bonucci duly equalised in the second half and the game eventually went to penalties. The unfortunate Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho and Bukayo Saka were all brought on to take a spot-kick, but the brave trio all missed as the Azzurri broke our hearts to take the prize. England 0-4 Hungary, Nations League 2023 A year on from the Euros and it was utter embarrassment for Southgate in this Nations League game at Molineux. It was our biggest home defeat since 1928 and the result led to England being relegated from the top group of the Nations League and back to one that contained the Republic of Ireland, Finland and Greece. England 1-2 France, World Cup 2022 quarter-finals Another case of what could have been. Having been free-scoring throughout Qatar 2022, many fancied us to go all the way at the World Cup despite taking on the holders in the quarters. We fought back from going behind to level through Kane and many believe that France were then there for the taking had Southgate deployed a more attacking approach. Instead, they seemed content with what they had until Olivier Giroud pounced 12 minutes from time to win it. But there was still one more twist of the knife for England as the usually-reliable Kane skied a late penalty over the bar uncharacteristically as we crashed out.
