Jamie Laing released 30 years of bottled-up emotions during Comic Relief run

Yahoo14-05-2025

Jamie Laing reckons he cried so much during his Comic Relief ultra-marathon challenge because he finally released 30 years of bottled-up emotions.
The former Made in Chelsea star raised more than £2 million for Comic Relief by completing five ultra-marathons in five consecutive days in March.
Reflecting on the challenge, which saw him break down in tears on several occasions, Jamie admitted on Good Morning Britain on Wednesday that he isn't usually such an emotional person, but the endurance challenge broke him down to his "raw self".
"The run made me become my raw self. I'd never really cried that much, I'd never really done any of that. Suddenly, it was all coming out. It was like 30 years of just holding everything in that suddenly was coming out," he shared.
The 36-year-old appeared on the daytime show to encourage men to talk about their mental health to mark Mental Health Awareness Week.
The TV star, who has spoken openly about his experiences with anxiety and panic attacks, told hosts Susanna Reid and Martin Lewis that he felt "quite anxious" during the challenge but tried to focus on simply putting one foot in front of the other.
"With mental health, especially with anxiety, one of the hardest things is to accept (it), and for me, I've learned to accept it. That's my make-up, that's who I am. So I think on the run, I learned to accept it," he said.
Linking it to their mental health conversation, Jamie continued, "It was also the metaphor of (putting) one foot in front of the other. If you're going through a tricky time, you've just got to keep going... don't stop, don't give up, just keep going."
Jamie ran an ultra-marathon every day for five days to travel more than 150 miles from London to Salford for Red Nose Day.

‘The Real Housewives of London' Cast: Who's Starring in Glitzy Brit-Bound Installment?

The Real Housewives of London, Hayu's first ever original series, has unveiled a glitzy new cast. The recently announced show from Universal Television Alternative Studio U.K. Productions (best known for west London reality series Made in Chelsea) is set to premiere later this year with six fresh faces ready to spill some piping hot tea (English breakfast, of course). More from The Hollywood Reporter Pierce Brosnan Talks 'MobLand' Finale, James Bond and Who Sophie's Real Dad Is in 'Mamma Mia!' The Crawleys Are Off to the Races in First Trailer for 'Downton Abbey: The Grand Finale' Michael Cera Says Jackie Chan Had No Clue Who He Was When They Met: "He Thought I Was a Competition Winner" It includes a Chicago lifestyle blogger, a cake company boss and a former Miss Galaxy Universe. These socialites are slated to showcase the luxury of living in one of the richest cities in the world, but who are they really, and what might they bring to the wine-topped table? Below, The Hollywood Reporter has compiled a who's-who guide for the 30th installment of the wildly popular franchise. 'Whether hosting lavish dinners, escaping to a Scottish castle or rebuilding bongs over bottles of champagne,' Hayu said, 'they're all navigating life, legacy, and loyalty.' You might recognize Karen Loderick-Peace from her starring role on The Real Housewives of Jersey — so, you know she's well-equipped to deal with drama. Originally from Jamaica, Loderick-Peace moved to the U.K. in her twenties to study at the London College of Fashion before marrying Jeremy Peace, the ex-chair of British soccer club West Bromwich Albion. She was regularly snapped WAG-ing out in the luxe boxes at The Hawthorns stadium in England's West Midlands, and the couple share three children. They split their time between London, Jersey and Barbados, where they own properties. The socialite, now a fashion designer, will no doubt be serving on the upcoming series. 'We are here to entertain you all for the long run,' she said on her Instagram after the cast news dropped, 'and we keep it real. To know is to know, it's not a question.' There's rubbing shoulders with A-listers and there's rubbing shoulders with royalty, and Nessie Welschinger does the latter. The London-born, Singaporean-Egyptian business owner was once the global head of equity at British asset management company Schroders, but gave up a career in finance to launch the now industry-recognized Chelsea Cake Company, whose clientele includes the late Queen Elizabeth II. Welschinger is also no stranger to reality television. She appeared on The Great British Bake Off: The Professionals to showcase her natural patisserie talents. She shares her Chelsea family home as well as a 500-year-old estate in the English countryside with her husband, Remy, and their three children. There's one guarantee with Welschinger: she'll be cooking, figuratively and literally, on The Real Housewives. 'London's about to lose its stiff upper lip,' she said about the show. There's not a wrinkle in sight when it comes to Amanda Cronin — the entrepreneur is the founder of the Amanda Caroline Beauty skincare brand. She runs The Secret Door, an aesthetics and wellness clinic nestled in one of the most exclusive areas of London, Belgravia. She's claimed to have 'the longest legs in Belgravia' and most recently caught tabloid attention for dating Wham! musician Andrew Ridgeley between 2022 and 2023, later revealing that the singer is not exactly 'relationship material'. 'I'm quite traditional, a sweet, country girl,' she said. 'When the next Mr Right comes along, he will have the same set of values that I have.' Cronin is a jet-setting friend of The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City star Meredith Marks and The Real Housewives of New York City's Dorinda Medley. The skincare expert is also supposedly close with — no biggie — Jennifer Lopez. 'My secret is out !!' Cronin said in a recent Instagram post. 'I'm a Housewife!! Hold on tight!! It's going to be sassy, funny, feisty, but always classy.' Miss Galaxy Universe 2013 Juliet Mayhew moved to the U.K. from Australia aged 12 — winning a scholarship for her musical talents — and now lives in one of the most expensive neighborhoods in London with her husband and two children. A former actress and creative producer, Mayhew is a devoted philanthropist after spending time travelling with her parents, both human rights activists, as a child. Her work is mostly done under the very large umbrella of her lifestyle company which dabbles in events (including a Marie Antoinette-inspired bash at Kensington Palace), interior design and business. She ran her own luxury leather goods company and was nominated for Young Designer of the Year in 2005. A jack of all trades, Mayhew is taking no prisoners on the Hayu series, it seems. 'The Real Housewives of London may ruffle a few linen napkins, but some of us still remember how to stay a lady,' she wrote on social media. 'Though you can always spot the ones who weren't well bred — their tiaras never sit quite straight. So hold onto your teacups — things are about to get frightfully entertaining.' Another friend of J-Lo's, funnily enough, is the Iranian-born Panthea Parker. Now based in north London, Parker has been a regular on the exclusive Mayfair scene since the '90s, securing invites to Buckingham Palace garden parties and more recently, 10 Downing Street, where prime minister Keir Starmer lives. Her husband is Ed Parker, a top lawyer for the some of the wealthiest people in the city. His wife's Instagram feed certainly showcases the crème de la crème of London high society with snaps boasting A-lister run-ins, extravagant galas and private jet trips across the world. 'Time reveals everything,' Parker said on Instagram about The Real Housewives of London, 'especially the fakes. Gowns on. Gloves off.' Chicago native Juliet Angus is another housewife-adjacent star, previously appearing on Bravo series Ladies of London with Caroline Stanbury (who avid fans will know from The Real Housewives of Dubai). The celebrity stylist, now a social media influencer and global brand partner among other professions, started out as a fashion publicist before she made the leap across the pond. Her website calls her the London stylist, so she's no doubt considered an authoritative voice when it comes to all things fashion. 'Living and working in L.A. and N.Y.C. has meant that her inner circle is decidedly A-list, for Juliet, clinking glasses with the Hollywood elite is just a regular Friday night,' her bio on the online brand reads. 'Since its launch, [the site] has garnered significant industry buzz both here in the U.K., in her native U.S. and abroad.' Despite the career success, Angus cites being a mother as her favorite job and lives with husband Gregor and their two children in London. ‘Outlander' Creators Talk Season 7 Highlights and Reveal Why They Had to Make a Big Change to Jamie & Claire's Reunion Love Scene

The penultimate season of 'Outlander' was 16 episodes long and split into two parts. The second half found Jamie (Sam Heughan) presumed dead, then back from the dead, Claire re-married, and then Claire (Caitríona Balfe) on the brink of death. The signature love, heartbreak, and reunions filled these last 8 episodes, leading to a shocking season finale revelation that deviated away from the book series. IndieWire sat down with the creative team behind 'Outlander' to discuss the highlights and challenges in bringing Diana Gabaldon's book series to life for the second half of Season 7. Executive Producers Maril Davis and Matthew B. Roberts, Production Designer Mike Gunn and Costume Designer Trisha Biggar shared their favorite moments from this season, explained why Balfe and Heughan's chemistry is the glue that holds their show together, and also teased what to expect in the eighth and final season. Watch the full panel discussion to find out why Jamie and Claire's big reunion love scene had to be changed from the book. More from IndieWire 'Abbott Elementary' Season 4 Took Pains Not to 'Phone It in': 'We Want Every Episode to Be a Surprise' If She Chooses You, You're in: Melanie Lynskey on the Magic of Natasha Lyonne Davis kicked it off by sharing that her favorite scene was the very last scene in the season finale episode, 'A Hundred Thousand Angels.' Claire hears Fanny singing, 'I Do Like to Sit Beside the Seaside,' and realizes that Faith, her daughter with Jamie who was stillborn in Season 2, might have lived. 'It's just so heartbreaking. It was such a beautiful scene. I just remember the look on Caitríona's face when, as Claire, the pieces are falling into place.' Roberts talks about two scenes that stand out to him, the first requiring Gunn to bring a large ship in when Jamie, Claire and Ian arrive in Scotland. 'It was no small feat to sail a ship up from the south of England, get it dressed. That scene worked out so great. It reminded me of when we were in South Africa, doing all the ship scenes (in Season 3).' When Claire comes down the stairs in a beautiful dress, it's a moment that Biggar and the costume department executed perfectly. Roberts said, 'It's kind of reminiscent of the red dress (from Season 2).' Claire, the new Mrs. Lord John Grey, must make her first public appearance in this very dress. Biggar said, 'It took weeks and weeks to make. Pure lace. I wanted to make it without there being any seams in it, so it was pretty complicated for (our team). There were many people working on different parts at the same time. We covered it eventually in little sparkles so that the candle light would be picking it up.' And how did Balfe handle having to dance in the dress? Biggar lights up: 'She's great with costume. She just sort of puts things on, wears them and behaves as if they're just regular clothes. She's marvelous. She just pops things on and off she goes.' For seven seasons and over 11 years of filming, the heart of 'Outlander' has always lay with its central love story between Jamie and Claire. Heughan and Balfe have long been hailed as the king and queen of chemistry. Davis confirms, 'They always surprise me. Their chemistry is so good. We've gotten so used to them being so good together, that we take it for granted. That chemistry, you can't buy.' Davis revealed that Jamie and Claire's reunion love scene was supposed to be bigger. 'There's a very iconic scene in the book where Jamie and Claire get in a big fight. Jamie is jealous of Claire having slept with Lord John. They have this big, break tables, throw things to the ground, lovemaking scene and an argument. We wanted to do it like the book. It's this potting shed. Mike tried very hard to do that for us. We found a great greenhouse. But then the lighting and the weather. We ended up putting it into the house on Chestnut Street. There were many debates about that too. 'Are they going to fight about Lord John, but yet they're going to make love in Lord John's house?' It all came together. That's a true testament to Sam and Caitríona, they make everything work.' Jamie and Claire reunite on a dining table. And luckily that table survived. When Jamie is first presumed dead, Gunn said, 'The audience knows that Jamie is not dead, but (they) need to believe that Claire thinks that Jamie's dead. Sam and Caitríona pull that out every single time because of their chemistry. She was stunning in that episode.' Gunn talks about the set for when Claire is shot. 'We wanted it to be quite dramatic, because it's the finale. It had to house the ending of their journey for that season. We wanted that exact contrast from the violence of the war that's outside and the horrid nature of the fact that Claire has been shot to the serenity that's inside.' Davis and Roberts explained that the book scene where Lord John and Claire sleep together was not easy. Davis says Balfe and David Berry struggled with the storyline. 'Why would Claire and Lord John sleep together?' Balfe first spoke about it at ATX Festival at the beginning of season 7. Roberts says, 'I don't even like to think of it as lovemaking, or them having sex. What they were doing is they were grieving.' The team also addressed the season 7 finale twist that shocked the audience. Claire tells Jamie, 'I think our daughter Faith lived.' Davis confesses that everyone in the cast first said, 'What? How is that possible?' Season 8 will explain it all they promise. Cue George Michael, 'You gotta have Faith.' Roberts revealed they didn't just film one ending for their series finale. 'We filmed multiple endings. It was important that it not get out what we were doing. We were very careful. I knew it would be very emotional. I would say, probably four that went out into the world.' Biggar, Davis, Gunn, and Roberts ended by teasing the final season in just a few words. Gunn went with alliteration and said, 'Epic epic end.' Biggar said, 'Surprise,' because she didn't work on season 8, she left to work on the prequel, 'Outlander: Blood of My Blood.' Davis brought it home with, 'Emotional, heartbreak, tears.' Gunn added, 'Maybe of joy!' Roberts summed it up with one word, 'Satisfying.' But which of the four endings is the real ending one has to wonder? A little heartbreak, a little satisfaction, and a lot of tears, sounds like a perfect ending to 'Outlander.' As long as it's not 'Four Endings and Jamie or Claire's Funeral,' the 'Outlander' audience will be happy. Watch the full panel discussion to hear the team break down all the Season 7 moments that made it one of the strongest seasons yet. 'Outlander' is streaming now on Starz. The prequel show, 'Outlander: Blood of My Blood' will premiere on August 8 on Starz. Jamie Foxx roasts Sean ‘Diddy' Combs over vulgar testimonies in sex-trafficking trial: ‘He's a nasty motherf—ker'

Jamie Foxx roasted 'nasty' Sean 'Diddy' Combs over the vulgar testimonies that have been given in the disgraced rapper's sex-trafficking trial. 'That Diddy s–t crazy, huh?' he said while performing on stage at The Comedy Store in West Hollywood, Calif., last Thursday, per a video obtained by Urban Hollywood. 'I don't know if he's going to jail but he's a nasty motherf–ker! Am I right? Especially for our community — white people, it's cool, but Black people, like, that was our hero. All that goddman baby oil, boy.' Foxx, 57, then brought up Combs' ex-girlfriend Casandra 'Cassie' Ventura's testimony about how the disgraced rapper allegedly made a male escort urinate in her mouth. 'And then the urine,' he added, before his 31-year-old daughter, Corinne Foxx — who was moderating the Netflix event — interrupted him. 'Oh, that's right. Just let it be. My bad, I'm sorry,' the comedian said. However, Jamie didn't let it go and continued questioning the alleged sexual acts Combs, 55, was involved in. 'Why you so nasty, Diddy? Old nasty motherf–ker,' he continued. ''Take that, Take that.' That makes you listen to that differently now. What are we taking? 'Cause I don't want any of that,' the Grammy winner continued on, referring to the phrase the Bad Boy Records founder famously uttered. 'For the Black people in here, you know how that hurts us. 'Cause Diddy was, 'It's all about the Benjamins.' That was our whole culture. Now, 'It's all about the baby oil.'' Page Six has reached out to Combs' rep for comment but did not immediately hear back. The dad of seven is currently on trial facing three charges: racketeering conspiracy; sex trafficking by force, fraud or coercion; and transportation to engage in prostitution. Combs has pleaded not guilty and denied all culpability. Last month, Jamie finally set the record straight about rumors that the 'I'll Be Missing You' emcee tried to kill him when the singer had his medical emergency in 2023. '… I snuck in my phone because I didn't know what the outside world was saying and I couldn't get my mind around the fact that I had a stroke. I'm in f–kng perfect shape,' the 'Ray' actor recalled during a Hollywood Reporter roundtable of his time being hospitalized. '[I see things like,] 'Puffy tried to kill me.' No, Puffy didn't try to kill me,' he stated. Jamie revealed in December 2024 that his medical emergency was due to a brain bleed that led to a stroke.
