"The project was ultimately sidelined by the original album's runaway success and the parade of hit singles that dominated the spotlight for more than a year," the announcement explains.
Veronica Electronica, which is available to preorder now, will feature newly edited versions of club remixes by Peter Rauhofer, William Orbit, Sasha, BT and Victor Calderone. The original demo of 'Gone, Gone, Gone," which is a previously unreleased recording produced by Madonna and Rick Nowels, will also be included.
Madonna's last remix album was released in 2022 with the arrival of Finally Enough Love: 50 Number Ones. Her last studio album, Madame X, arrived in 2019.
The performer opened up about what her new era of music means to her in a candid Instagram Stories post.
"Making my Ray of Light album was a seminal moment in my life as an artist," she wrote. "I was going through a huge metamorphosis. I had given birth to my daughter Lola. I had found my spiritual path and I was ready to shed a new skin and take a road less traveled by."
"I ventured into electronic music with William Orbit and I created an alter ego, taking one of my middle names- and Veronical Electronica was born," her statement continued. "Meet my other half.😜."
Madonna's latest announcement comes two days after she marked her father Silvio Ciccone's 94th birthday on X and Instagram.

Meghan Markle Shares Photos from Disneyland with Prince Harry and Kids Archie, 6, and Lili, 4: ‘Pure Joy'

Princess Lilibet celebrated her fourth birthday at Disneyland Meghan Markle shared an Instagram video of Prince Harry along with Lili and son Archie smiling during their family trip 'Thank you @disneyland for giving our family two days of pure joy!' she captioned the postMeghan Markle and Prince Harry are celebrating their daughter Lilibet "Lili" Diana Mountbatten-Windsor's fourth birthday at the happiest place on earth! On Friday, June 6, the Duchess of Sussex, 43, shared a sweet video of herself, the Duke of Sussex, 40, and Prince Archie, 6, exploring Disneyland. 'Thank you @disneyland for giving our family two days of pure joy!,' Meghan captioned the Instagram post, set to Peggy Lee's 'It's a Good Day.' The video began with Lili wearing a sparkly blue baseball cap and a colorful sleeveless dress while holding her mom's hand as she led the way through the California theme park. Next was dad Harry following closely behind as the princess met a Disney Princess, before the family of four was photographed going up a log ride at Tiana's Bayou Adventure. Meghan looked back, flashing a huge smile while wearing Minnie Mouse ears as they prepared for the drop that faced them on the water ride. Other stops on their outing included a ride on Dumbo the Flying Elephant and a trip to see Star Wars troopers. Meghan posted photos of their food, which included corn dogs and pickle slices, but, of course, no birthday can be complete without a birthday cake! As the video continued, there was a photo of a Little Mermaid-themed cake with Princess Ariel and her undersea friend Sebastian. Additional highlights included a carousel ride with the siblings sitting together, roller coasters and walks throughout the park, which is currently celebrating its 70th anniversary. Meghan added hearts over Lilibet and Archie's faces, as the mother of two has been adamant about keeping their faces out of the public eye for privacy reasons. "Our kids are young,' Meghan told CBS News Sunday Morning in August 2024. 'They're 3 and 5. They're amazing. But all you want to do as parents is protect them. And so, as we can see what's happening in the online space, we know that there's a lot of work to be done there, and we're just happy to be able to be a part of change for good." Jason Biggs Recalls Climbing Into Trash Can at 4 A.M. to Snort Cocaine amid Addiction: ‘Absolutely Insane'

Jason Biggs opened up about his struggle with drugs and alcohol during the height of his career while living in Los Angeles The American Pie star recalled climbing into the trash can to retrieve cocaine he had already thrown away He said he was able to get his health on track after moving to New York, and has been sober since 2017Jason Biggs is sharing one of his 'craziest stories' with addiction, and the moment he climbed into a trash can to snort cocaine. The 47-year-old actor appeared on the June 4 episode of the Well with Arielle Lorre podcast and opened up about the height of his drug and alcohol addiction. Following the success of American Pie early in his career, Biggs said that with fame, he 'learned very quickly' how rare it was for people to say no to him while he was living in Los Angeles, which escalated his substance abuse. 'Being 22 with money in the bank and coke in my pocket and no one saying no to me,' he said. Biggs told Lorre that when he met and married his wife Jenny Mollen, he was using drugs and drinking alcohol much more than she knew. He was 'blocking everything out with drugs and alcohol… and it just got worse and worse.' The Orange Is the New Black actor then recalled one of the lowest points of his addiction. 'I lived in the gray area, but I have 'snorting dust off the floor' stories or similar to that,' he began. 'One of my craziest stories was, I was doing cocaine by myself in my house, and I did what I said was the last line.' Never miss a story — sign up for to stay up-to-date on the best of what PEOPLE has to offer, from celebrity news to compelling human interest stories. Biggs said it was 4 a.m. and Mollen was asleep. In an attempt to stop himself and go back to bed, he threw the drugs into the trash can. 'Within 15 minutes, as soon as my last bump is wearing off, I'm like, what am I doing? I go into my trash, and I take it out and I do a line,' he said. In another attempt to stop, Biggs said he went outside and put the rest of the cocaine into the trash can in front of their house. 'OK, I'm done,' he told himself before going back inside and grabbing an Ambien to help him sleep. 'Before I took the Ambien, I was like, 'One more,'' he said. 'I went outside and I climbed into the trash bin and got the bag of coke and went upstairs and did another line. I was like, 'What the f— am I doing? This is absolutely insane.'' is now available in the Apple App Store! Download it now for the most binge-worthy celeb content, exclusive video clips, astrology updates and more! Biggs said that he constantly struggled with sobriety while living in Los Angeles. 'I would find myself alone and isolating and I would find myself breaking whatever sobriety I had. It was incredibly fragile, obviously, in those early days,' he said. Biggs explained that despite having met some great people in L.A., living there wasn't good for his health, and the environment made his drinking worse. He said moving to New York was life-changing and a 'healthier place' for him to get his life on track. 'There's something about the energy of New York that gives me something, that fills me in a way that Los Angeles couldn't. But I do believe coming to New York helped me. So, I did fall off the wagon here, but that was seven and a half years ago and it's been going well." Biggs has been sober since 2017 and shared his first anniversary of sobriety on Instagram in October 2018. 'I first tried to get sober over 5 years ago, when the weight of my obsession with booze and drugs became too heavy for me to handle,' he wrote alongside a photo of a silver coin that read, 'To thine own self be true' and has the engraved words 'unity, service, recovery.' 'Turns out this s--- is hard,' he said at the time. 'After some fits and starts, I've managed to put together one year of sobriety. I'm as proud of it as anything in my life.' Biggs concluded by encouraging those who are also battling addiction not to give up. 'If you're struggling, know there's help,' the star wrote. 'Don't be ashamed. We can do this. 💪🙏.' Miley Cyrus Says Madonna ‘Was Down' to Mud Wrestle in a ‘4×4' Music Video, But Her Label Said No

In an alternate universe, Miley Cyrus' iconic Bangerz era would've been made complete with a wild music video starring Madonna, Nelly and more superstars popping wheelies and wrestling in the mud. Unfortunately, we do not live in that universe. In an interview on the Every Single Album podcast posted Thursday (June 5), the 'Flowers' singer revealed that she had been dead set on rounding up a star-studded group of friends to shoot a raucous visual for '4×4,' a song on her smash-hit 2013 album that ultimately never became a single. 'I had everyone already lined up,' Cyrus said. 'Nelly … Madonna was down to do the video, Miranda Cosgrove.' More from Billboard Miley Cyrus' 'Something Beautiful' Album: All 13 Tracks Ranked The Weeknd Wanders Through Purgatory in 'Baptized in Fear' Music Video Belinda's 'Indómita' Album & More Best New Music Latin 'This was before Taylor [Swift] had a lot of famous people in her crew,' she continued, laughing. 'I was friends with famous people first. I wanted to do that. I had a f–king squad, and my squad was very, very cool.' Cyrus claimed the idea was eventually shut down by RCA, her label at the time, whom she quipped didn't want her 'talking about a pit bull [and] piss' in a song they'd be promoting. 'Madonna was down to mud wrestle with Miranda Kerr,' the Grammy winner reminisced wistfully. 'I was like, 'I'm gonna get all these girls, all these supermodels, all these Victoria's Secret models and all of these pop icons to come to my dad's farm, get in the back of 4x4s, and we're gonna mud wrestle, and we're gonna go out and do doughnuts.' Despite the lack of a '4×4' visual, Bangerz remains one of Cyrus' most successful albums to date. The LP debuted atop the Billboard 200 and spawned her first-ever No. 1 single on the Billboard Hot 100, 'Wrecking Ball,' which was followed closely by 'We Can't Stop' at No. 2. The 'Party in the U.S.A.' artist was signed to RCA for a three-album run, later dropping Younger Now in 2017 and Plastic Hearts in 2020 under the Sony Music imprint. In 2021, she inked a new deal with Columbia Records, through which she just released new album Something Beautiful on May 30. Later in the podcast episode, Cyrus recalled another time where she and her former label weren't quite on the same page. According to her, she never would've put a certain fellow pop star on 'Prisoner,' one of the singles on Plastic Hearts. 'No shade to Dua Lipa, it just isn't cohesive with the album,' Cyrus said frankly. 'She would've been much better on something like [2023 LP] Endless Summer Vacation,' the singer continued of Dua Lipa. 'She would've been great on 'Wildcard,' she would've been great on any of them — 'River,' can you imagine?' Cyrus added that she thought her team at RCA wasn't entirely confident in how Plastic Hearts would perform, so they brought in some 'medicinal Dua' to give the LP some commercial oomph. 'They basically were like, 'Oh, great, here's this piece of s–t album she gave us, let's spray a little Dua Lipa on there,'' Cyrus said, laughing.
