HC reserves order on Anjaneyulu's bail plea
Vijayawada: The high court on Friday reserved orders in the bail petition filed by former APPSC secretary and DG rank officer PSR Anjaneyulu, who was arrested in connection with alleged irregularities in Group I evaluation and is under judicial remand.
The court said it will pronounce orders on Monday.
Arguing on behalf of the police, assistant public prosecutor Sai Rohit said Anjaneyulu is not cooperating with the police, and expressing anger at investigating officers during his questioning in police custody and repeatedly saying that he is responsible for everything. Anjaneyulu has been charged with illegally paying money to a private company and getting the answer sheets evaluated by ineligible persons.
Arguing on behalf of the IPS officer, S Nagesh Reddy said the evaluation was not done at a private place as is being alleged. Only verification of answer sheets was done there. "He has been in jail for the last 30 days and has completed two days of police custody. As the petitioner is suffering from ill health, bail may be granted with conditions," he urged the court.
PVG Umesh Chandra, who appeared for Madhusudhan, another accused in the case, said the petitioner acted according to the terms of the agreement and sought bail with conditions. Considering the arguments, the high court reserved orders for Monday.

'Stopped for tea break': RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav escapes unhurt as his convoy hit by truck in Bihar; 3 security personnel injured
Tejashwi Yadav NEW DELHI: Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav escaped unharmed when a speeding truck collided with two vehicles in his convoy in Bihar's Vaishali district early Saturday, injuring three security personnel. The incident occurred around 12.30am near Goraul on the Patna-Muzaffarpur national highway when the convoy had stopped for a tea break while returning to Patna from Madhepura. The opposition leader's vehicle was not struck in the accident, according to a senior police officer. The three injured security personnel were taken to the nearest government hospital, where their condition was reported as stable. Yadav visited the injured personnel at the hospital to check on their condition. "The accident took place when we were returning from Madhepura to Patna. We had stopped for a tea break near Goraul. A speeding truck rammed into two vehicles of my convoy, injuring three security personnel. I immediately alerted the district police and the administration. The accident took place just five feet away from my vehicle," Yadav told reporters at the hospital. 'Made call under influence of alcohol': 25-year-old man held for giving death threat to Delhi CM Rekha Gupta; being interrogated by Special Cell
NEW DELHI: A 25-year-old man was taken into custody on Saturday for allegedly issuing a death threat to Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, police officials said. The suspect has been identified as Shlok Tripathi, though police sources described him as a habitual fraudster who frequently changes his identity. According to officials, the accused made the threat call while under the influence of alcohol. Tripathi was apprehended by the Delhi Police , who are currently interrogating him at the Special Cell office in northwest Delhi, an official confirmed.
