#SHOWBIZ: Nora happy husband refused divorce: 'Turns out he still loves me'

SHAH ALAM: Datuk Nora Ariffin is happy that her husband, Dr Rushdi Ramli, did not pronounce the talak (divorce) during the first mention of their divorce application case at the Petaling Syariah Lower Court here, today.
However, Nora, or her full name, Wan Norafizah Ariffin, 52, claims she needs to consider what needs to be done after this, including if the divorce does not happen.
"From what I understand, Dr Rushdi rejected this divorce. I am asking for space to go through all of this and need to think about whether if we continue (the marriage), will the same thing happen or something like that.
"It's nice (my husband objecting to the divorce) because it turns out he still loves me. But, I have to think about what the next step is."

"We are not enemies and there is nothing I want to hate about him. Because he is too good a person, things became like this. However, I surrender," he said when met after the first mention of the divorce application case ended at the Petaling Syariah Lower Court here, today.
The Dendam Dalam Diam singer denied filing for divorce as a 'drama' deliberately created to attract attention.
"I don't want to create a situation or drama. I don't need all that and just want to clear my name.
"I filed for divorce because I was too tired to go through all this. I can endure it, but... for how long?
"I have done what I had to do. Today, the decision not to divorce was made without any influence from any party.
"However, as a wife, I need to be respectful and discuss further after this," she said.
Asked if there will be any discussions with her husband after this, Nora will do so as needed.
"Look at the situation. If necessary, we need to do (communication) because we are not enemies. All this happened due to interference from external elements, not from ourselves," she said.
Commenting on netizens' criticism regarding her marital troubles, Nora insisted that she was only doing the right thing.
Nora also admitted that she was tired of facing all the troubles, especially involving third parties.
"For me, as long as I don't do negative things like what people say and there is a clear direction, it's okay. I don't commit any criminal or sinful things.
"However, this matter does affect my artistic career. My 30 years of experience as a singer have been completely ruined because of this matter."
"People choose to talk about my household rather than my artistic career. Enough, I'm tired," she said.
Asked if she still loved Dr Rushdi, Nora said, figuratively, that neither party wanted a breakup.
"I've been through a divorce and as a wife, who wants a separation?
"However, if this is the best for me and the children, we have to go through it even though it's painful. We don't know what God has written.
"The coming days, I need to sit down and meditate and think. At least I've done the right thing to get out of the 'toxic' environment."
"Losing doesn't mean we lose. Life also needs to go on," she said.
In proceedings this morning, the Petaling Syariah Lower Court set June 4 as the second mention date for the divorce case between Nora and Dr Rushdi.

#SHOWBIZ: No 'withdrawal' of filing, Nora determined to get a divorce

SHAH ALAM: Singer Datuk Nora Ariffin's divorce proceedings against her husband, Dr Rushdi Ramli, are moving forward at the Petaling Syariah Lower Court, with the couple now in the process of appointing a Conciliation Committee (JKP). Nora arrived at the courthouse around 8.50am, confirming she had appointed her adopted sister, Rafeah Ariffin, to represent her on the JKP. She affirmed her decision to proceed with the divorce, stating, "So far, there has been no withdrawal of the filing. I am sticking to the original plan. But, I will leave everything to the court." The marital difficulties between Nora and Rushdi first surfaced on Aug 12 last year, becoming a widely discussed topic online. Public attention was drawn after Nora shared a video on Instagram showing Rushdi pronouncing a divorce on her, leading to various speculations. This prompted Nora to formally file for divorce at the Petaling Syariah Lower Court on April 21. Nora confirmed her marriage to Rushdi, a senior lecturer in the Department of Fiqh and Usul at a university in the capital, at the end of 2021. Before this, Nora was married to composer Johan Nawawi in 1992, and they had four children. Johan passed away on March 24, 2017, at the age of 52, due to a heart attack.

Aeril has chilling moment filming horror flick

Compiled by RAHIMY RAHIM, C. ARUNO and R. ARAVINTHAN ACTOR Aeril Zafrel ( pic, above ) claims that a crew member became possessed after chanting a mysterious mantra while shooting a supernatural film, reported Mingguan Malaysia . 'I was informed that the mantra written in the script was a real one. 'While I was reciting it, a crew member actually became possessed. 'Thankfully, the production team had made preparations by having an ustaz on set,' said Aeril. Before filming began, he had also made some personal preparations to 'protect' himself. 'The ustaz asked me to recite certain verses for protection. 'He also reassured me by saying that these 'things' cannot harm or control us. They have their own limits,' added Aeril. 'It would be a lie to say nothing strange happened. 'At one point, I could really feel a presence with me. Some places on set felt extremely eerie. 'The entity even gave a sign that it didn't allow us to film there, so we had to move to a different location,' said Aeril. > Actress Nora Danish revealed that her dream to perform the haj was dashed after falling victim to an online scam, reported Sinar Ahad . 'I was ready, but the call to be God's guest has yet to come,' the star of television drama Puteri shared, adding that she has accepted the fact that she will not be going this year. 'Perhaps this is not the right time. 'Who knows, perhaps I will be able to perform my haj with my future husband,' she said. Nora, whose real name is Nora Mohd Danish Hanif, 43, said she saw the setback as a challenge and a chance for her to reflect on herself. In a separate matter, Nora quashed talk that she was getting back with her ex-husband Mohamad Nedim Nazri. 'Nedim and I can no longer live as husband and wife, but we still maintain a good relationship as mother and father to (our son) Neqayl. 'I understand that in this world, we may need a partner, but I don't think I will get back with Nedim,' she added. Nora and Nedim were married on March 30, 2017, and divorced on June 16 last year. They have a six-year-old son, Mohamed Neqayl. Nora also has a 15-year-old son, Putra Rayqal, from her previous marriage to Datuk Rizal Ashram Ramli.
