Wild Forward Signs One-Year Contract With Division Rival
Nyquist, 35, started the season on the Nashville Predators after playing there the year before. Nyquist was on the Wild during the 2022-23 season. He left for free agency and signed a two-year deal with the Predators.
After a terrific first season with Nashville, the veteran forward struggled last year before he was traded to the Wild for a second round pick in 2026. Nyquist scored two goals and had seven points in 28 games with the Wild. He had zero points in six playoff games.
When asked about how Nyquist would approach July 1st, he said he would love to come back to the Wild for the 2025-26 season. The Wild opted to resign Marcus Johansson and let Nyquist go. He eventually signed a one-year deal with the Jets for the 2025-26 season.

After Osaka delivered this brief speech in Montreal, tennis fans ripped her for showing zero class towards Mboko. "Could Naomi Osaka be more of a sore loser right now? You don't need to give a massive speech but at least congratulate your opponent," one fan commented. "You gotta feel for her but this is not how things are done, pretty much tennis protocol congratulating your opponent," a second fan said. "That was a snarky comment. I can't imagine having to play Mboko and the crowd- but show some class. That was a terrible comment," a third fan added. "Of all people, Naomi Osaka should know how to be gracious to a younger opponent during the post-match ceremony. To not even congratulate Victoria in the speech was a bad look," another fan wrote. Mboko wasn't offended by Osaka's comments. In fact, she showed her a ton of appreciation. "I wanna thank Naomi for an incredible match. I've always looked up to her when I was really little. It's great to play with such an amazing player like you," Mboko said. There'll be plenty of fans cheering on Mboko when the US Open begins later this month. Gray, who was picked by the Tampa Bay Rays in the second round of the Major League Baseball Draft, hit .479 with 12 home runs, seven doubles, three triples and 38 RBI this past year for the Mustangs. Luett, committed to Iowa, hit a state-leading .603 with 21 extra-base hits and 46 runs scored while going 11-0 on the mound with 128 strikeouts. Schwiesow sports a .448 batting average with 25 RBI, 26 runs scored, 18 steals and an 8-1 record with 104 strikeouts.
